Explanation for my being MIA

I was feeling highly unmotivated this week after my vacation, and did not go back OP as well as I'd hoped. I really had no clue why I felt so unmotivated, b/c I'd really enjoyed the diet before vacation. I also was annoyed by nearly every aspect of my house (I hate this couch, I hate that we have no pictures downstairs, blah, blah, blah).

Well, this could explain some things: I am pregnant!

Yes, you read that correctly. I am pregnant. We've been trying for a year, and I really think this diet plus metformin is what made the difference.

It's not quite real yet. I went for my first blood test, so I know I really am pg, and I go again on Monday to be sure my HCG levels double like they should. I'll stay with my RE until I'm around 9 weeks (I'm about 2 weeks now), then I "graduate" to a regular OB or Midwife.

I asked about staying on "the beach," and the nurse said that since it's not a calorie restricted diet that I could keep following the plan, but that she'd advise me to add in some fruit and whole grains as well (basically, bump up to phase 2/3 while I'm pg).

Andy and are are cautiously happy. I think after the 2nd blood test I'll feel much more pregnant.

:)

OH, and I guess I should probably get rid of my avatar. I'd love to just "maintain" my weight during this pregnancy, or only gain 10 lbs or so. It's my understanding that if you're overweight, it's ok to gain less.

But I'm not going to "try" to lose right now, obviously!

Congrats!!!

yes, it's ok not to gain and sometimes even lose a little when you are overweight. Are you staying on the met for the first tri?

Congratulations! I am so happy for you! Yes, phase 2/3 should be perfectly fine although you might want to ask your doctor's opinion of artificial sweeteners.
