Hello all! I don't have many plans for the long weekend, except for to stick to my diet NO MATTER what!:) Today I went out to eat for lunch with a friend at Chili's, and SUCCES...I ordered the grilled chicken and vegetable plate and water instead of what I really wanted, breaded chicken strips, fries, and an oh-so-delicious Chili's chocolate shake with chocolate sprinkles on top. The meal was delicious though, and I've noticed my appetite is now very much under control. I probably only ate about half of what was on the plate, and I was completely satisfied! Yay me! ;)

K@t 07-02-2005 04:52 PM

I know what you mean. The other day I went to McDonalds where I usually want a big box of nuggets with BBQ sauce and fries. I got the grilled ranch salad and was completly filled with it. (drank diet coke) I use to still be hungry after the salad and still want more food, but this time I was totaly satisfied. I think that is a sign of getting the carbs under control. :D

HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE

I took Friday and Tuesday off from work, so i have a 5 day weekend. We're not planning much. We have family in the country and we are leaving in the morning for a couple days--fireworks, grilling, drinking
you know the usual.

I feel like I have been cheating the last week but when I look at what I've eaten it is on the list of approved foods. Example, I may have an extra cube of cantaloupe or my dessert treat (if I've been good all day) has become every night instead of a few nights a week. And lately I have had this shake, I found the recipe here, and I'm addicted!!!!!!! I skipped milk at breakfast this morning just because I was planning this shake tonight. Is this normal to feel this way and to look forward to these treats? I haven't lost anything in about 4 days (I'm a compulsive weigher--daily) But that doesn't mean much as long as it doesn't go over a week or two. I just feel pretty guilty eating some of the things listed on phase 2.

Anyway, I hope ya'll have a great weekend and I'll see ya'll later!!!

Eleni 07-03-2005 03:58 AM

K@T I looked at your web site.Cute. It sounds like quite an adventure to leave America and go to a new country.

K@t 07-03-2005 04:31 AM

Hey thanks! It really was an adventure, I struggled for awhile when I got here, wondering if things would be diffrent if we had moved to the USA instead. But then I decided I would be better off using all that energy to make my life here better. We really have a lot of great stuff, nice home, I have a new car, and a loving husband, what else could any one want?? I think a lot of the problem was the language for me, when I arrived, I didn't speak a word. Now I'm fluent now so that really helped things a lot. Now, if I could just loose some weight! It's very hard to find clothes over a size 16 or so here. And I'm a 20! and I love to shop for clothes! Double whammy! :dizzy:

Schatzi 07-03-2005 07:29 AM

Me: Well we had alot of traffic at our open house..some returnees from last weeks..that's a good sign... yesterday we had a lot of Asians stop by..and you will love this one: I'm out on the patio reading and this Asian lady comes up..puts her compass on the fence thingy.. I say to her we are true south. ok... she's checking... she comes in sits on the sofa and looks out the sliding glass doors "oh you can see the top of the high tension tower" ... yeah okay... she goes up in the master bedroom, takes a compass reading, and I say, we are true east...Ok now she is opening all the closets, peering into the tubs, opening the oven... oh this is truly move in condition...( um, yeah I happen to be a clean fanatic..) NEXT couple, Asian, again, with the direction we are facing and the master bedroom direction.... so I get to thinkin that this must be some Feng Shui thingy... so I look up the meaning of the directions... and it seems that South reflects the future, family life and passion... East reflects contentment...hmm I'm thinking that this could be good or bad... maybe the Bedroom should be south LOL, and the living room East, and maybe that view of the high tension tower isn't tooo much to block :sumo: that CHI...Who Knows  I just found this quite interesting. If anyone out there knows another reason why Direction of certain rooms is of interest or knows something about FengShui, let me know!.
OK, I. Need. CAWFEEEE ... . :coffee:

3!girls!for!me! 07-03-2005 08:26 AM

Thank You!!!

:) Good-morning everyone and happy holiday weekend to you!! This is day 12 on phase 1 for me and things are still going great :D I have lost 8 pounds and maybe more (I am retaining water so maybe thats an extra # or 2!!) :D Just wanted to say thank you to all the creative cooks who have come up with such great recipes and who have researched different brands and foods to buy that are appropriate for SB. I generally have to take my 3 young children grocery shopping and that doesnt leave time to read many labels  ...I log on here and make my grocery list including brand names and it makes shopping easy!!! I'm also a lucky one on having a Traders Joes just a few miles from my home, they have such great healthy stuff and are very inexpensive..gotta love that :D !! I had the Belgian waffle this morning for breakfast and think tomorrow I will try the chocolate shake so many of you are raving about ;) !! Good luck to all on their SB journey!!! :D
Have a great rest of the weekend!!

angelshine90 07-03-2005 09:47 AM

good morning everyone!
I am off to go swimming at Hampton Beach..then off to a friends for a BBQ and swimming in their pool...I am staying completly OP today...chicken and burger w/o a bun for me please! I think I am going to cut up an apple and bring some Peanutts for snack if i get hungry....I am not drinking today either...I decided that its not worth all the extra calories especially since the scale did not say 139 this morning..but 140....so i am teetering back and forth ..I want to say goodbye to the 140s!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH
So when they go to get booze I am gonna get one of those HUGE bottles of water! .....on a side note..J would never admit it but he went down 3 whole sizes and his tummy fits in his bathing suit...he acts like he doesn't care but has been wearing it since he bought it...and i caught himself checking himself out in the mirror lol
*I cant help but be proud of him*....his Birthday is next week..I want to make him an OP cake..that still tastes really good..any ideas? i will check out the recipes later
anywho have a great days girls!

Hey Schatzi thanks for the compliment. I'm trying to finish up another blanket I'm doing then I want to move on to another cross stich, so much to do and so little time. So your selling your house? And a bunch of Asians came to check it out? Strange..... I don't know any thing about the orientation unless it was as you said FengShui. But never the less, strange....very strange....

Hey chicks!

Just a quick drive by for me. I've been soo bad that I'm fearful of the scale. Tomorrow is DS's 8th and DF's 65th so I'm in charge of the meal. Since the gourmet cook is coming I've had to rachet it up a bit. But we are having a beautiful standing rib roast and all kinds of goodies.

I'll be crawling back to the beach on Tuesday fat and bloated! For all you chicks being good out there - GREAT JOB!

I went to dinner with the first X hubby last night. It went well. I had a chocolate martini - wow - super yum! He is still incredibly handsome but all the things that I didn't like about him 17 years ago are just worse now.

Take care chicks!

What a day it has been. Just got a short nap and I feel much better.Only slept about 4 hours last night. We got to Lowry Park Zoo when they first opened and good thing we did. They only had 2 motorized carts to rent which amazed me. As big as that place is and as many people who go there I would have thought they would have several. I couldn't have made it walking. I don't know how Bill did it as we were there over 4 hours. We took 5 rolls of film.I better have some great pictures. The animals were great. It is just a big place. I also got a lot of sun too.But we had a great time.
Then when we left Bill knew I wanted to stop at the Pearl Art supply store so he gave me my anniversary card early and it had $50 in it.He already gave me 20 roses and he prepaid for the new Harry Potter book.Plus he spent about $50 at Lowry. So I bought a small metal t-square I wanted and a drawing clip board and a pad of paper. Altho I gave him a $100 to use on his truck I have not gotten him a card yet.
I may just make him one.We were going to put film in Winn Dixie before we got home but we were so wiped out we made a bee line for home. He is still asleep.
When Bill gets up we may go out for supper.Lunch wasn't too good.Chilli dog with no bread. Bill only ate a few bites of his.
Ok That's it.Tomorrow it is rest and see a movie.

I updated my personal journal with this, and rather than "waste" time and re-type it -- I'm just posting it here. So here's the LONG update :)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

God, do you know how hard it was to not only keep HB in the dark, but all of you as well? Damn me for letting her read my diary! I had no frikkin' outlet for 3 weeks!

That's when I bought the ring. 3 weeks ago. And I use the term "bought" very, very loosely!

HB has been sick with a stomach virus of some sort since Tuesday, when we went to the doctor. We had planned to go camping this weekend, and I figured it would be a great cover for a proposal -- I've never really been camping so she'd think she was in charge -- until I proposed that is.

I also planted a little seed in her ear for the last few weeks. I wanted to propose via poem, but it would look suspicious if I just came out with one. So we've been coming up with little ditties for the past few weeks -- before we go to bed we come up with something silly like "Roses are red, and so is your head, I love your kisses and I our bed."

I know, dumb.

So I told her to come up with a serious one for Friday's camping and we'd recite them to one another under the stars.

Well, that didn't exactly pan through because she was still sick.

So, we set up camp in the living room. She made up her poems quickly, and grew excited to recite them.

At 9p, we shut off all the lights and she read me hers via flashlight. It was a series of 3 poems that took us through our relationship. I am going to write them out here because I want to keep them forever. She prefaced it with saying she wasn't very good at writing poems, told me they didn't rhyme, and asked me not to laugh.

The Early Moments
I told you I liked you
you said nothing
and my heart sank.
I drove you home,
you said "I like you too."
my heart was in my throat.
We sat on the couch,
touching your skin
make me feel bouyant.
We were alone together
and I touched your hair
I fell in love.
I wanted you.
I wanted to be with you
I loved you

Exploring the World of We
You asked me to move in.
I was scared.
If I said yes
would you tell me it was too soon?
I moved in.
I was joyful.
Our lives seemed to fit.
You said my things fit perfectly with yours.
My things became outs.
Your things became ours.
You and I became we
and I am so lucky that we did.

Marry Me
In my sleep I said
I'm going to marry you someday.
I didn't mean to say it out loud
but I did mean it.
I asked you to marry me
I didn't have a ring.
You said yes and we set a date.
That will be the happiest day
of my life until Sept. 9, 2006.

Cue me crying hysterically because my poem didn't relay and go through our relationship as I wanted but I liked my poem and knew I'd cry and wouldn't be able to say all that she did.

At this point it was my turn and I was still crying. She tried to comfort me but I needed to get down on one knee (in the tent so she was on the inflatable mattress and I was on the floor).

I stumbled between tears but got it all out. My poem was simple enough to memorize, as I thought we'd be out in the woods and all...

Lives are for living,
I live for you.
Dreams are for wishing,
I wish for you.
Hearts are for beating,
Mine beats for you.
Angels are for keeping,
Can I keep you?

And that's when I took out the ring from my PJ bottoms (damn box was upside-down!), and asked if she's marry me. I put the ring by her hand, she said yes and started to cry and then, well, we fell into bed and laughed and cried and talked and...

The ring is a bit too big so i must return it, which will take 2 weeks (the ring sizing we did through sites online were WRONG!). But it looks so good on her finger!!!

And now, I am going to go join her in the shower. :dizzy:
