Help-newbie!?!

Hi I am desperate - I bought the South Beach Book and it doesn't seem to give all the info on what/how much to eat. I need that. I found 3FC and decided I needed guidance and support and the how-to. I DID find the emergency guide for beginners and copied that down - thank you thank you so very much. I now have a reference point to follow. I did the Atkins and felt badly; my heart felt sluggish and I didn't feel all that great - no energy surege, etc. Lost 28 but gained it back. I hated not eating veggies or fruits and lost all interest. Disappointed myself, my daughter and my husband. I have NO metabolism at all, have had blood checked; no diabetees, thyroid probs. I need to go on this diet for some others who are interested but don't want to take a chance in case it doesn't work -again- for them. I live on an orchard we purchased late feb. and work like a dog. No weight loss. I would like to belong to this community and need a midwestern (I'm from central Ks.) buddy it AT ALL possible. Thank you for the info you offer freely - I have a daughter graduating from High school next summer and I'm determined to get this 5'5", 185 lb. keester in gear!!!!

Welcome and pull up a blanket. There are no "how much to eat" except for a few foods. Mostly it's eat until full/not hungrey. Check the updated food list. You can eat the foods listed. Drink your water. Remember, everyone looses at a different rate. Write down what you eat. Plan your meals. This is a way of eating (WOE).

One other suggestion, there is a daily chat/goodmorning thread. Okay on the weekend it's in one thread. Post to it daily. Even if it's just to say hi. It's a place to share what kind of day you had the day before or what you have planned today. Everyone will try to keep you on track.

Hi Shawnee - And Welcome to the Beach! :beach: I've been a member and doing SBD for 10 days now. Dragonmama has given you excellent advice! I find the support and inspiration on this site to be a major reason that I've stuck faithfully to P1 so far! ....When I find that I want to eat crap, I come to the boards, read some success stories, look at folks weight tickers going down and get a boost of will power. Most all us here are Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge...I tried Atkins, WW, LAWL, etc etc, I've been up and down, and all around ! I too have a low metabolism: same thing, nothing appears in blood test to suggest a medical problem, so I guess it's the way some of us are made.
JUMP in, the water is fine!
