Default SB bars

Well, I tried the cinn raisin bars this week... i wasn't going to try them because i don't think they sound very 'op', but thought i would give them a shot.... to be honest, they were VERY good...

B U T...

they didn't even remotely take the edge off of my hunger... and not even 15 mins later i was just starving for something else....

so i doubt i will buy them again.... i thought they would be a neat thing to have in my desk at work on those days that i'm really backed up with work and don't have time to go to the breakroom to get some cucumber/hummus, but nope... not worth it to me...

anyone else try them?

I haven't seen these. Do they sell them at the regular supermarket? Are they a snack bar or a meal bar?

lol I agree I bought the chocolate ones and even though I haven't started my SBD I thought they would be a good starter for my day. I was starving by the time 11 am got around! I had mines at 7:30! I was like what in the world! lol I don't think I will buy them anymore when I get to phase 2 and 3.

There's a very good thread here on low-carb products, in case anyone is interested: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47273

Also, there's an interview here with Dr.A. There's a question regarding breakfast bars second from the bottom.

Thanks for the input.
Most cereal bars trigger cravings in me, so I think this is something thats not for me.
Other people might benfit. Its all about whats good for "you".
Thats the best part of this experience learning what works for "you"

Aileen,
Thanks for the review. At least I won't blow the food budget with something that isn't in my best interest.

HI, I tried the peanutbutter bar, I used it as a snack instead of for breakfast. It was pretty tasty, but I will only use them on special occastions, like when I'm traveling.

I bought the chocolate a while back, but since I fell off the wagon and had to restart I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I don't want to rely on them... I'm just excited to eat apples again

I checked them out last week and thought they didn't sound 'good' as far as the label/nutrition contents, etc...and I knew, if I bought them, I would eat them and eat them too often...so I passed them by until I get into phase 3.

Default Meal Replacement Bars are candy?

I don't know. Meal replacement bars do have vitamins added, but beyond that they are really a snack or treat. I think they are dangerous because you can overindulge. I also agree that they do not fill you up and may even make you cave more food. Personally, only protein typed breakfasts are the only way I can get to lunch and not feel hungry.
