Beach Chat - Thursday, May 12
Oh, my gosh! I actually get to start the a.m. thread! WOOHOO! :cb:
It's way too early in the morning, if ya ask me  I hope all of you have a great day! Me - I'm headed to work. Adam is one day away from drum major auditions... he is feeling pretty confident about his chances. I wish it weren't going to rain through the weekend...I really want to get Olivia's furniture painted and put together. For those of you out there who paint, would it be okay to paint the furniture in her room if it is raining? or will the humidity keep the paint from drying properly? I'm an absolute newbie to this whole thing, but i'm feeling very trading spaces-ish :D i'm off! Hope ya'll have a great day! |
Good morning, Aileen!
Ruth will be glad to see that someone else has started us up this morning. The paint will be fine, but it will take a little longer to dry because of the humidity. It sounds lovely! And good luck to Adam!! :cheer: RNMom, thinking about you and your family today! I'm sure the wedding will be beautiful. :grouphug: Must get coffee... back in a mo... |
Oh, and Aileen, that was so beautiful what you said yesterday about your parents watching at your son's concerto. :) I'm with you... I think they're always with us. :grouphug:
|
Good Mornin'! I'm not up for long. Headin back to the couch to prop up the knee. Just wanted to pop in. I had to look something up for DH this morning.
Aileen...You can paint it inside no problem. Make sure you have good ventelation. Maybe open the window in her room and close the vent if you have the air on. Good luck! Well I am off to prop up on the couch! I feel so lazy. I need to go to the bank today so I can get some fresh air! Have a great OP day all! |
Mornin' Ellis! I'm really goin now!
|
Good morning, sweet Bamie! You take good care of that knee, hear me? :grouphug:
|
'Mornin', Y'all! It's so nice to see Bamie in here. Heal fast, BAmie!
I'm with Ellis, MTM - paint it inside and it will dry but not as fast. And thanks for starting us up. I was in here around 6 but the Dogs informed me that Terrorists were attacking so I had to head downstairs to help them fight them off! Silly critters! Ellis, it's frassing freezing here this morning. I hope to heck it didn't cream the basil that I left in the barn! :( Duh! Anna is coming at 8 for me to take her to the greenhouse. She is stuck with doing the Communities in Blooms planting for her little village and hasn't a clue. Jane comes at 11:30 and I'll be off to town to get some groceries. Then I have a doctor's appointment at 4! Nothing serious - just to renew my prescription for my hay fever shots. Gotta get cracking. Harry is in the tub and I need him dressed and breakfasted before 8 so ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ outta here. |
Oh, Ruth, I didn't realize that it was your place to start the morning thread! I certainly hope I didn't offend!
|
In case Ruth has left the building... ... Aileen, Ruth LOVES it when someone else starts us up in the mornings. Honestly... Everyone hear that? ANYONE can start us up!
And I seem to be the official "closer of threads". :D |
Aileen, thanks for starting us up. Ruth must be the lazybones this morning. :s: (Truly, honey, Ruth was just complaining the other day that she's tired of having to start the daily every day...you did a GOOD thing. She deserves some rest. And she had to fight terrorists off this morning, so she has a good excuse. ) You are right...that's way too early! Aileen, I'll let an expert (Ellis? Bamie? ) answer your paint question, but if you do it inside, make sure you have lots of ventilation, okay? :D You sound very Trading-Spacesish! :D :goodluck: to Adam!!!
Ellis, about the closer of threads. I often feel like that. When I was little, I loved having the last word, and now everyone likes letting me have it! :lol3: I hope you're having a good day, sweetheart! :grouphug: Bamie, I'm glad to hear you are partially up and partially resting. That's good news. You keep nursing that leg! I finally read Tuesday's daily. Your poor DH and poor you trying to get comfy in that hospital room! :( :grouphug: I'm so sorry! I get panic attacks and I can totally sympathize with DH...they feel JUST like you think a heart attack would feel and they are very scary. :yikes: I'm glad you got him help, just in case. I hope things slow down a bit for him at work. In the meantime, maybe you can do some relaxing things together like watch a funny movie. :D Ruth, you have a busy morning ahead, but it sounds good. I hope you have fun with your afternoon off. :D Sounds like Anna's in for a big surprise! How's your knee holding up? :grouphug: You cracked me up about the Girls and the Terrorists. Our dog is certain that anyone under the age of 10 is a huge national security alert. :lol3: Me: Better get this in before the thread gets any bigger! The other day we barely got up above 10, and now we're back and running again, huh? ;) The scale fell back down again to my ticker, but I did eat late again yesterday so I'm hoping that it'll go even lower after some regular meals. Late night again today. It's cold and blustery here and is supposed to remain that way until at least the weekend. Well, the beginning of the week was glorious, so I can't get too upset. ;) I have class tonight. Our prof. is supposed to give us outlines for the three major assignments. I sure hope she has them...I like to plan ahead, and I found out last weekend that my friend Ange (the one that had the preemie last year) will be in our neck of the woods over Memorial Day weekend. There is no way that I'm missing the chance to see her and baby Ethan (who is now over 12 pounds, off oxygen, and can roll over both ways! :cloud9: ) then, so I have to have my homework done before. Let's hope she really brings the assignments so I can get started this weekend! :crossed: Lately I've been using Kahlua SF syrup in my cocoa. It's incredible!!! It really does taste like Kahlua! Have a great day, chickies! :D |
Good Morning everyone!
Have a great day today! |
Good morning all!
MarineTubaMom - I wish I could be clear-headed enough in the morning to start the daily chat thread. You all probably wouldn't understand a word I wrote if I tried to put together a post that early in the morning! ellis - You're better than me - I have to get my coffee BEFORE I start posting. Ruth - Hope you have a great day. Wish I could send you some warmer temps! Ok... a couple more of you chimed in while I was posting.... Laurie - MMMmmmm... Kahlua... need I say more??? Sunnybunny - have a good day, too! Leaving work early yesterday was very nice. Although I showed up to renew my car tag and was told that this is the first year that an emissions inspection is required for my car. I thought I had one more year! So I had to leave, find a place to have the inspection done and then go back to get my tag renewed. Blah. When I got home, I took a nap - I wish I could take about a 30-45 minute nap every afternoon! I woke up with a lot of energy and proceeded to sweep/mop the kitchen, clean the kitchen table off (it's a catch-all for us, unforunately), vacuumed the dining room, went to the grocery store and did 2 loads of laundry. And I still managed to watch Lost and most of the American Idol results show. I felt for the first time in a while that I had actually packed a lot into my evening. I bought some of that moleskin stuff and I will be putting it on my toe before getting started at the gym tonight. Thanks for all of the suggestions! |
Good Morning Ladies:)
Nothing new on my end, except we are going to get frost tonight OH NO!!!:tantrum: my poor flowering:flow1: plants. They got hurt with the heavy snows:sman: we had now the frost will kill them for sure. Going to get my burlap out of the basement to keep my plants warm. Weightwise I lost .5:goodscale: nothing to move my tricker down, but I'm pleased to know that I didn't do to much damage on The Mothers Day Feast. Have to go,another busy day ahead, reason I was MIA yesterday on the Daily. Will be back later and see what Up. Hugs :) BB |
Good Morning! It's gonna be a hot one here today!!! Supposed to get up to 90 today! But beautiful and sunny!
Marine - I never got back on the forum to answer your question about "feeling" it in my muscles at water aerobics. The answer is not like after I work out with the weight machines, after being in the pool constantly moving for an hour, I feel energized! My muscles don't feel tired, tho they feel like I've done something. And I'm making some great friends! Especially these two older ladies...ms. tanner and callamae They are the sweetest two gals! If I really want to feel it in my muscles I swim some laps, but since the nights that I go to water aerobics is my inbetween workout nights I usually just do the aerobics. I hit the gym mon. wed. & fri. with my dh, and last night we hit it pretty hard! But I don't leave there with tons of energy like when I leave the pool. Just being nearly weightless for an hour, takes the pressure off my lower back and legs, it's worth going!! Tell Adam GOOD LUCK :lucky: from us here in Alabama!!! ellis - From reading your posts since I started this forum, you sound like you'd be a lot of crazy fun to hang around!!! You should move to Alabama!! LOL Then you could visit me and Bamie!! Bamie - Take it easy on that Knee!! You'll be better than ever before too long! Ruth - :flame:Sending you lots of warm vibes!! :flame: :sunny: Beachgal - :flame:sending you some warmth too!!:flame: Lord, knows I'll have plenty of that today! Sunnybunny - GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO!!!!! Sassy - sounds like you had a very busy day!!! The nap sounds great! Usually when I take a nap I wake up feeling terrible, I just love the ones I wake up from feeling great! My kitchen table is the catch all too! it's always covered up! I had a pretty busy day yesterday myself! I had to be at the hospital to fill out paperwork at 10 in the morning, and by the time I got home from that I just had time to change and head to the school/gym, to complete my fitness evaluation (we had to re-do the endurance test) when I got home from that, I had just enough time to fix a quick salad scarf it down and head to the occupational health clinic for blood work and a drug screening. After that I rested for a little while, until my kiddos got home, then I had to meet my DH back at the school/gym to workout! I was sooo tired by the time I got back home! Took a cool shower, and my DH and I went out for mexican, I just had some veggies and a small steak. Got home just in time to see American Idol...Yay, they finally voted off anthony! and then crashed in bed! I'm not gonna do anything I don't have to today! The gym we work out in is brand new! Our school system got a grant to "Shape Up Sheffield" for the physical ed. department, and they built a facility for the P.E. teachers to use for teaching fitness It has 12 Life Fitness weight machines, free weights, ellipticals, treadmills, an aerobics room and this machine called a trifit machine that the trainer uses to keep up with you! It is how the fitness evaluations are monitored...you have to be weighed, your blood pressure measured, your body fat measured with calipers, your upper body strength, your flexiblity, and your endurance is measured on an exercise bike that keeps up with your heart rate while you ride at varied intensities! Our school was really fortunate to get this grant! And the Staff and Faculity of the school system are allowed to use it free of charge! My Dh is technology coordinator. yay Y'all have a great day!!!! |
Here on the left coast, it is pretty clear that I won't be the one to start the new daily thread unless I come home from partying the night away. :cb: And, I am waaaay too old for that now!
MarineTubaMom- Here's wishing Adam good luck! :goodluck: Bamie - You just had surgery for heaven's sake! You are not being lazy. Beachgal - I do hope that you get to take Memorial Day weekend off and spend time with your friend and her new baby. :bb: I will have to check out that SF Kahlua stuff. Sounds good! I like to have sf/ff cocoa too -- makes me feel less deprived. :) Sassygal - I never have that kind of energy in the evening. :faint: Good for you! I am one to spend my mornings doing that stuff and then I get into the office late, so I end up working until 7 or 8 then eating dinner at 9. :hungry: NOT good. :nono: Ruth - Boy do I wish you lived closer. I would so love to see your garden and get some ideas and advice. Yes, I know we have the gardening thread but somehow seeing it works better for me. In any event, things are still growing so far. :crossed: Have a great day everybody! |
