Default Tuesday Temptation Chat 4-19

Good Morning one and all.

My worse temptations are ice cream, potato chips and, and, and...LOL

Temptations are a sign that we need to take some time to focus.
Think.
Realize.

Today I am putting me to the test.

I play cards and eat out.

I will NOT give in to temptations.

I hope all of you have a happy day and that your temptations are overcome easily.

Lady

I match your temptations and raise you baked goods, (donuts, pastry, bagels, basically any kind of confection!)

I too have to resist temptation. Everyday at work the Teachers Aid brings in 2 boxes of assorted donuts and muffins and just leaves them there for anyone that wants one. I used to give in back when I weighed 155. But now that I am struggling to get down to 145, I am resisting. It is difficult, I don't know what I would do without my cheese stick stash at work!

Have a fabulous day chicks. Its Day 2 of P1 for me today. I am having eggs for breakfast, leftovers for lunch and chicken for dinner. I can do this. I haven't seen 145 on the scale in probably 7 years, and that sad because I just turned 24!

See you on the beach. I'll be the one hiding behind my huge towel! hehe

Today will be so busy I won't even notice temptations unless one of the cabana boys hits on me!

I am off to the Greenhouse for the morning, Harry has to be taken to the dentist for noon and then we go to the Library. Somewhere in there I need to make dogfood and plant some pansies!

Have a great Tuesday.

Good morning!!! I'm taking a "mental health" day off today. A day just for ME!! So, I'm going to get the pots and dirt and plant all my veggie plants, get my house cleaned up and just enjoy some fresh air. Temptations? Oh, they are everywhere. My daughter was whining for Burger King last night...over the weekend, hubby went to Dairy Queen. I think just having a plan helps. Knowing in advance what you're going to do helps.
Good luck ladies....have a great day on the beach!!!!

Temptations! It really hasn't been that bad - more mental than actual body cravings (which I know can be harder!)

I ate my choco cake Sunday - and told DH to save me a small piece for later that night. I didn't feel like eating it, so I knew I couldn't have it Monday. I saw it sitting there and I don't want to eat it! How does that happen???

I crave chocolate and chips. I also crave cheese - but I get that!!!

Ruth: Have a fun day - making dog food? I've thought about doing that. Is it a dry food or are they on a raw food diet?

Jamie: You avoid those donuts!!! What Bamie said was great! I think it's great that you are trying to get this in control so young! It's easier that way.

Lady: Hope you win at cards! Thanks for the morning thoughts

Bamie: Enjoy the game - she plays a lot, huh? DS had practice last night but we missed it. He's a sick kiddo.

Jenn: ENJOY your day off! DH took one yesterday and we really enjoyed it (except for the sick kid to take care of.)

Me - DD is taking her reading TAKS test today (state testing), DS (4) is sick with a fever and a bad cough. I'm trying to get him in the Dr. today. Poor guy! I'm doing OK today, I have a problem with my left eye - I got some confetti in it about a month ago, and it was irritated, then just occassionally sore. Today it hurts like a stye, but I'm thinking maybe the confetti is now under my lid... I know nothing about eyes. It's not like I have time to go to the DR. myself you know!

I'm losing again Almost to the 3 lb mark (I started at 255.4, but I just say 255 for recording purposes! I'm 252.6, but I won't say I've lost 3 until I hit 252 on the nose! So only about half a pound.)

Good Morning Chickadees!!!

I have miss you all so much! I have had a crazy life these past weeks and it seems it aint slowing down any time soon. I started exercising yesterday though, I am really proud of myself. I have a Gazelle and I did 14 minutes keeping it over 3 miles an hour so I think that is pretty good for my sedentary butt!

I really have missed coming on here and talking to you guys! I will check back in later...

As for temptation...oh my! I don't have really bad temptations, so I would my worst one is pizza. So I just make a whole wheat one once a week and do away with it!

I am still trying to master my plateau and I think I have figured out all the bugs. I haven't been eating enough veggies, I just haven't had the time. Mostly cause I haven't had time to go to the store (big store). My little market across the street has limited veggies. I can't eat a lot of them raw like broccoli or cauliflower cause it makes me really gassy and it is very painful. I don't have a gallbladder and it just doesn't digest the same way with fresh veggies.

I am so committed to this and knowing that I am 2 months in and still this determined makes me feel even more committed than ever! I have never been this resolute, so I am pretty pumped.

Anway...have a lovely day on the beach...hugs

Morning! I'm up a little this morning. My doctor suggested I eat more salty food yesterday (just for a day or two to get my blood pressure up a bit) and I think I am retaining water. I'm in the office today and I always do better drinking enough there.

Tonight is Cub Scouts. I've got to find a song for the meeting. Maybe something camping related. Cross your fingers, please, they are predicting rain for Friday night and Saturday. Our Spring campout last year actually got rained out. We woke up at 2 in the morning with water over our sleeping bags. I DON'T want a repeat of that.

Good morning everyone. It is a nice day here...won't be any where near the 80s, but for us, it is nice. Sun is shining, a bit of frost on the grass and a nip in the air. Spring is here. At least it isn't snowing - yet. We should still get one last dump before the good temps actually arrive. We're waiting.

Lady - Thanks for the inspiration this morning. Do take care and remain focused when you are tempted today, and everyday.

Jamie - I know what you mean about the cheese stash. I have the same - one at work, one in my purse, one in the bedroom I couldn't get through those temptations without being allowed to snack on something that I enjoy, too. I guess that's where your mind plays with deprivation. As long as I can have something (besides carrot sticks ), I seem to get over the feelings that everyone else is enjoying something and I am deprived because I am watching my weight.

Ruth - Have a fun day at the Greenhouse...are there really cabana boys there?

Bamiegurl - Sounds like a fun day puttering. It seems that when I take a day to putter, I get too much puttering done and nothing constructive. They are the fun days, though.

butterflykisses - Enjoy your 'me' day. I have needed one for a very long time, but can't fit one in just yet. I am hoping that, when I am off sick next week that I will take a few of those days and hope that everyone leaves me alone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

HottieInHiding - Do go see a dr. about the eye. DH did a similar thing recently and ended up with an abscess on his eyeball. He actually went to emergency at the hospital and they misdiagnosed the problem, but I insisted that he go to our ophthmologist who ended up sending him to another specialist. Take care of your eyes.

MallynAllysmom - I envy the 80 degrees. We will be lucky to be over 50 today, but even that feels good here. Have a good day at work.

Tara - I went and read the info about the ab lounger and a lot of the reviews. One fitness trainer was advising that it does give a good workout, but wouldn't recommend it for everyone. The main caution when using it is to make sure that you don't hyperextend at either end of the movement. Other than that, the trainer said that it has positives, too. For people who have joint and back problems, where getting down to the floor is a problem, it is a good solution and gives the same workout. Better reviews than many of the other gadgets out there.

beach bum - Hope you are feeling better soon. This has gone on for quite a while. Congrats on the weight loss. Take even the single pounds, they all count towards the final goal.

Sunnybunny - You have already done an amazing job with the weight loss. Keep it up. I think you are right. I find that, when I don't eat enough veggies, it seems to stall my weight loss, regardles of whether I am OP, or not. Keep up the exercise, too. That will also help.

Me - Not too much here. DH's twin brother came into town last night, so we went out for dinner with him and his wife. However, I did have all day to plan what I would eat. I decided that last night would be a treat night, within reason. I had potatoes (which I rarely eat), lots of veggies, fish, chicken and goulash. Add the dessert to that, and I would say that I pretty much made the most of my treat evening. Today it is back to the beach and exercise.

Tomorrow, I have to go to the hospital to a pre-admission clinic. Hopefully that won't take too long and that it won't ruin the entire day. Will let you know more later.

Hope everyone has a great day on the beach. Take care.

Good morning everyone!!!
Temptations.....lots - greasy fried foods, sweets, and the frozen sweet drinks. Ugh! I try to stay away from the temptations by reminding myself that no food taste as good as the feeling of wearing clothes that fit! Sometimes it works.....
I visited my little niece, Kloe yesterday. She's a handful. We danced and played with her new puppy. She's crazy, but I had lots of fun with her.
Today I'm doing some laundry & then off to work I go - nothing exciting.
Hope you ladies avoiding your temptations & have a great OP day!
