Talking It's beginning to feel a lot like SPRING...

NOT!

Here are some pictures of my driveway, taken tonight, on the 23rd of March.

The daffodils at work were about to blossom when we got a nice freak storm...it's still snowing and we have at least four inches.

Notice that the snow is so heavy that it's bent our evergreen tree branches nearly down to the ground. They usually hover near the roof.

Spring, where are you????

I hate snow just before Easter. HELLO, can you spell Spring??????? As you may be able to tell from my attitude, I've about had it with the weather!

Oh, Laurie! We got lucky. Just north of us in the Poconos, they got 9" of snow today and it's still snowing, but we only had rain here, THANK GOODNESS!

Oh, lordy. When I first saw your pictures, Laurie, I was going to say, "How pretty! LOL" However, I think I'd better check the forecast here before I start snickering...

RNMom, it's so good to "see" you!!! I feel your pain, girl, trust me! I'm a California girl, born and bred, and I've only lived up here for about five years. I'm still not really used to the lack of spring around here. It's always hot enough back home to go swimming in an unheated pool by my birthday (March 30). I don't think a pool would be liquid by my birthday around here! Spring has to be around here somewhere, right? Bamie, stop hogging all the spring and send it our way....please?

Darn it, Cottage, I was hoping that you would be in my world of pain too! Seriously, I'm glad it didn't get bad down by you. You have enough on your plate with a sick kiddo. Are things any better?

I think you're safe, Ellis...the snow band went across the southern end of NY and the northern end of PA. I could throw some snowballs your way if you'd like...

Yes, very pretty. In December, I'd be ecstatic. But with a sick DH in bed, a five million page paper to write (can you tell I'm procrastinating??? ) and a huge desire to see the sun and walk around without a huge coat on...I'm not thinking pretty.

Ah, Ellis, I'm so sorry...yuck!

I'm thinking this is a good time to fill a room with lamps, crank the heat, blast beach tunes and drink frothy drinks with umbrellas while wearing a sundress. We have to do something with this frassing cabin fever!

Ruth, where are you? I need to borrow your chicken purse. I have an errand to run down south...

Bamie, if you weren't so darn cute... I'm glad you're enjoying spring. I just keep telling myself that by the time we get around to spring, you'll be drowning in terrible heat and humidity, right?

Heat sounds so nice right now...

Laurie, I thought I was losing my mind for a second there with your double post.
I love your idea. And hearing it in stereo works for me.
Sending you good paper vibes, sweetie...

Just a too-happy trigger finger on my part.

You crank the Beach Boys, and I'll bring the Margarita mix...or is it gin and tonics?

Must....get....back...to...paper...

Bamie, you sweetie! Love the new avatar...so pretty! Now tell me what buttercups look like...I thought they were very little flowers like violets, but I doubt you'd have a vase full of something so small, so they must be bigger?

It's sunny and warm out here... I'd brag, but I'll probably be drowning in rain water within a week. Or covered by a mud slide... You haven't experienced snow until you've had it Vancouver-Style. People are driving on mountain with bald tires, wondering why they get into accidents, the skytrains get extremely slow, the only thing that keeps going are the buses. It's fairly impressive. The "best" winter weather we had this year was the snow fall, followed by melt, followed by freezing, add a little more snow on top, and topped with MASSIVE amounts of rain. My already steep driveway was pure ice, covered by water. It literally took me an hour and 20 minutes to walk 1.3 km's. I need to move somewhere with summer year around..
