Question - Fingers feeling stiff

Hello ladies,
I have a question. I am on day 8 of SBD and yesterday I noticed my fingers around the joints were feeling stiff. I didn't notice this before. Could it be because i'm not eating bananas(potassium)? I really didn't eat alot of bananas before starting SBD but that is the only thing I could think of.
Any advise or info would be helpful.

I'm clueless. I have not heard of anyone havin that problem. You should check with your doctor asap.

Throwing a couple ideas out for thought:

Have you started exercising? I get the stiff fingers when I walk or run a lot, sort of like centrifricul force pushing the blood to the fingers.

Have you greatly changed your salt intake? If I get a little too much sodium, my hands/fingers tend to swelll a little. Are you taking a daily multi-vitamin? Check it to see if it has the potasium. Some don't have as many vitamins/minerals as others.

Patty, check with your doctor...it may not be anything major, but it's definitely worth checking. Let us know what you find out, okay? :grouphug:

Please be sure to check with your PCP. It could be simple as needing more potassium but could be something else too. It's best to get medical advice for health problems.

thanks for advice.

First of all, no i'm not taking any type of multiviatmin. My stomach gets upset easily and I just found one yesterday that I could stomach. :joker:
I think i'm taking more sodium in, especially with the deli turkey breast or tuna that i'm eating everyday.

I think i'll give the vitamins a few days to see if they work and then go on from there. To me it feels like when the weather is going to turn cold.

once again thanks for your advise.

Also drink more water to flush out the sodium and reduce the water retention. I have not heard of potassium causing tight joints; it usually affects the cells in the tissues/muscles cuasing muscle cramps and heart arrhythmias.
