Good morning, Chickies~~ :coffee:
Yesterday, I was so slammed at the lab...stuck 32 patients, total... and 29 of those between 8:30 and 1:00. Yeesh! I was so tired last night I couldn't sleep. Is that pathetic or what??? :dizzy: Tonight is an early night, because tomorrow is a VERY early morning, even for me. I have to be up by 4:00 to head to Asheville. Signs of serious fiberholism, here. Hee hee. :D Well, must fly...meeting Mary today after work...totally empty-handed. Had absolutely NO time to write this week. I really need to figure out a new schedule. Hope you all have a great day on the Beach! Mamacita |
Good morning, Beach Beauties! I never did get back in here yesterday to post but I did snoop. Thanks for the early start-up, Mamacita.
Yesterday I not only got my hair cut but also found a place to get a manicure. Remember the days when hair salons did nails too? It was very relaxing and I felt very "glam" when I was finished. I think the last professional manicure I had was in Bermuda in 1991 and that was because my sister and I were bored silly. It's gray and cloudy again today but it's NOT raining for a change. I have several errands to do this morning including a trip to the Library with Harry. I hope to dash in to see the pups but may have to leave that until tomorrow when it's tubby time for Lucy's guys. By the time they go to their new homes, they will be accustomed to baths and being dried with the hair dryer but it's a bit frightening for them at first. Now that they are eating (and standing in) mushed up puppy chow, they really need baths every day. Lucy does her best to keep them clean but...... Silly critters! We will be moving them up unto Morna's kitchen this weekend as there are visitors scheduled for next week - viewing only, no petting as they've not had their shots. Time to crank up Harry and get the day started. :grouphug: What's happening at your house? |
Good morning Ruth and Mamacita and everyone else to come! :coffee:
|
Mama writes again! Well you just tell her all about your writing here on the beach and how you have started us up 3 mornings in a row! teehee I'm sure she will really be impressed by that! Good luck on your busy day!
Me... Well I am exhausted! My sister drove down to go with me to the funeral. She did not get here intil about 11 Wed. night she had my niece and great nephew with her! :D Total surprise and I was so excited to see them. Naturally we were up late. I had nothing to wear because all of my dress clothes are now toooo big! :D Which was a good problem to have in MHO! But my ds brought me about 3 pairs of dress pants in a size 12 with the tags still on them that she had bought cause they were on sale. She is about an 18/20. She is a shopaholic in denial! :o I wear a petite but my MIL can hem them for me. Although I don't really plan on stayin in a 12 dress clothes long! :D I can wear my 10 jeans but with my hips still need a 12 dress pant! Anyway we did not go to bed til almost 2 in the morning got up at 4:30 and finally made it out bout 6:45. Were supposed to be gone at 6 but DS is very slow so I felt good bein gone by 6:45! I did all the drivin! She makes me nervous! :o We finally made it back about 11ish last night and they went back home which is about 3 hours from here. Poor sis has to work today! But she did sleep most of the way home lastnight. I set CC on about 80 and let her rip! ;) I normally do not travel that fast but It had been a very long day! We stopped and ate at the Longhorn. Oh my gosh it was soooo good! Yes I went off course a time or two! But I am back on today! Well the kids are off and I just may have to go back to bed today! I am so tired. I know I can't sleep in tomorrow cause DD has a 9 o'clock soccer game! Well I am sure lot's of chickies have pecked in the sand by now! Good morning to you all and have a great day on the beach! |
Mamacita: Wow, what a busy girl you are. I hope that you have some downtime soon to enjoy yourself and RELAX...Hahahha. It's always important.
Ruth: That's great that you got to pamper yourself a little bit. i love to get my hair and nails done. It should happen more often for us chickies. I'm so jeanlous that you have those puppies to visit and play with. I hope they are all doing well! Well the pottery went well lastnight. I made a plate with a snow man and some holly on it for a Christmas gift. I'm trying to buy a gift a week so I'm not broke all at once. Hhahaha. Also, speaking of puppies, we finally got word at my house that our application to adopt a kitten that we wanted was accepted. He was too small to take home at first bc he was the runt. But he has been fixed and is ready for us this weekend. I CAN'T wait to see him playing around our house. I hope my other cat is nice to him though. I don't usually get to post on the weekends so I want to wish everyone a good weekend. I have a family party to attend on Saturday but other than that it's just relaxation hopefully. Enjoy your Friday everyone!!!!! :) |
Hi All,
I'm going to keep this super short b/c I feel awful. Eating has been ok. Discovered my peanuts were bad last night and wanted to cry. Does this mean I need to restart Phase 1? I'm so glad it's Friday. Just want to go home and sleep and sleep. Too much work to do so made myself come in. I hope you're all well and have a great day! |
Hi everybody,
I've been peeking in the window at y'all having coffee these past few days, but haven't posted. Even today, I have nothing to say. Just wanted to say hi and wish everybody a great weekend. My weight is stuck but I'm feeling trimmer, so that's good. Patience is probably more difficult than willpower imho. Cheers! |
Ruth, I love the idea of standing in a big bowl of my food. :lol3:
I still remember my hairdresser when I was a little girl. His name was Lester, and he looked like Mr. Dressup. :D Mamacita, I hope today is easier for you. :grouphug: Bamie, that's wonderful about the clothes! :hat: I can relate to the driving thing. My mother is the driver-from-****, and I'm too polite to say anything. She's turning 80 next year, and will have to take a driver's test. She's sure to fail... I'm going to have to toughen up and suggest she take a few lessons before then. Alli, buying a gift a week is a great idea! I do something similar. I don't shop often, but when I do, I LOVE to buy stuff... it's like I'm addicted to the ching-ching of the register. Instead of buying something for myself that I really don't need, I buy a gift for someone else, and store it in my craft room until I need it. Somehow, doing that still satisfies my love for purchasing. :) Enjoy your family party and your new kitten! Under a Palm Tree, don't feel badly about the nuts. We all make mistakes... just pick up and move on. Continue as you were... you can redo Phase I later if you feel that you need to. :grouphug: Heidi, congratulations on the patience! You're so right! Our kitchen cabinets are arriving today, and no, the pot lights STILL aren't in! Christmas is my absolute DEADLINE for this room! I'll also be cooking up a storm. We're having a "celebration of Dad's life" party tomorrow. Just family and very close friends will be there... I'm looking forward to it, although I expect I'll be shedding some tears. We didn't have a funeral (Dad's wishes), so this will be a bit of a closure for us, I suppose. :( |
Ellis... That will be so nice! DH said he doesn't want a funeral either and I told him it wasn't for him it would be for all of us left behind. He said hum I guess your right so have a celebration of my life and don't be sad. Yea like that would happen! I hope everything goes well and you all have a good laugh about his life and what he meant to all of you. You are so right about the closure part as well.

HAPPY FRIDAY!
Things are STILL crazy at the office and I am off to KC tonight, so I gotta run home to pack at some point, but I wanted to say hello! I hope everyone has a great weekend!! :) lauren |
Hello all :)
I just put up a new picture of myself. I am still quasi sick but not really sick, it is kind of an odd state to be in. |
I've just got a quick minute this morning. I was so busy yesterday I don't think I even posted in the daily although I have read everything. Work was nonstop for 9 1/2 hours. I even ate my lunch while on conference calls. Today should be better although I do have to finish preparing for the 5 four hour training sessions I am going to teach next week. I have almost 40 people to train on a new tool. The first session is 7AM Monday morning and it will be a rush! I can drop Brian at his before school care at 6:30 but then I will really have to speed to work to have time to boot up my laptop and open the conference line by 7. At least traffic should be light at that hour! :)
Tonight is the Halloween party at day care and tomorrow I have to take our cat Allie to the vet's for her shots and then work at the school carnival but I think I will be able to manage some time to relax while exercising. It has been a very stressful and busy week but I'm still eating fine. I didn't have time to fix what I had planned for dinner last night (we had the school book fair to go to) but I stir fried some broccoli, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, black beans and spinach, tossed in some Rotel bold tomatoes and wrapped it in a large tortilla with a little cheese. Yummy! Tonight's meal is a recipe using many of the same ingredients with shrimp and scallops. It should be good! |
G'day mates
How are you all, sounds busy so far. I was frustrated yesterday and didn't post. I've been busy, but faithful with phase 1 and I'm at day 12 of phase 1 (second time around) So how in 3 days am I able to gain 3 pounds????? THis is phase 1 and I have been good! I was pretty upset about it yesterday but am doing OK today. I sure can't figure this body out.
Ruth I bet you are excited to see the pups. Mama, isn't your job great? Where else can you go to work and get paid for hurting people? Barb, are you dressing up for the halloween carnival? Nelie, cute picture, you don't look quasi sick. Goldiefun, have fun in KC, drive careful. Ellis, how are you cooking up a storm without a kitchen? Sounds like a great celebration to be having. Celebrate life, I should do this now, not wait, huh? Hugs to you and the family. Well, have a great day everyone! |
Hello chickies,
I got my hair cut and colored yesterday and it looks pretty good. It's a little different than usual so will take some getting used to. I think I'll like it though (but we'll see if I still say that in a few weeks - LOL) A few weeks ago I bought new pair of jeans on double sale (1/2 of 1/2 price) and at the time they would zip and button but were snug. Today I tried them and they were baggy! I didn't even get to wear them once. OMG! Oh well, they were only $6.50 and I'd rather lose a couple bucks and stay in the downward size trend then have them fit right for a long time - Yesterday someone mentioned watching "Super Size Me." We rented it on DVD and the DVD has "bonus material/extra features," which we also watched. One of the features was footage of an experiment they did w/food from McD's and a local Mom & Pop burger joint. They got a burger and fries from Mom/Pop and several sandwiches and an order of fries from the Golden Arches and put each item in a giant glass jar with a lid to see how the food would decompose. The Mom and Pop food was moldy the next day. When it was all said and done, the McD fries stayed in that jar for 10 weeks and looked the same as the day they were put in there. THEY NEVER MOLDED! Interesting, HUH? Nelie, your new pic looks nice. Guess thats all for today. Hope you all have a great day and weekend at the Beach. |
Morning all. I too put up a new photo. Decided to start "anew" today in that I am going to not eat sugar at all. It's hard out here, but there's no time like the present, right?
I planned my breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Only problem is that with such long hours (9-9, sometimes 10) and people bringing in bad snacks...well, anyway. I packed a lunch and I am off and running. Have a great day ladies! |
