Really yummy asparagus recipe
I have been eating the asparagus with ginger for nearly every meal - it is so delicious. I guess you have to like ginger too, but I would recommend it if you haven't tried it. It's from the SB cookbook.
12oz asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2" pieces half tbsp canola oil half tbsp chopped ginger half tbsp light soy sauce 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes. Bring water to boil in skillet and simmer asparagus for 5 minutes. Drain and cool briefly under cold water. Dry skillet. Add oil and heat, then add asparagus, ginger, soy, pepper. Cook for 2 mins. The recipe also calls for sesame seeds and sesame oil, but I don't bother with that as it doesn't change the flavor much. I also usually double the ginger and pepper quantities as I like it spicy. Give it a try. Sootie |
