Hi Beach babes....

Just wanted to check in with you all and let you know that the reason I stopped posting is because I've been trying to get things ready around here for my upcoming surgery (Wed). I'll be having a total axillary dissection with reconstruction (skin grafts) and probably won't be posting for a week or two. Needless to say, things have been hectic around here. :dizzy:
I haven't been totally on plan, but I plan on getting back on track once the surgery is over and done with and I'm back at home.

I hope everyone is well and losing like mad. :D

I'll see you soon!

Rose :)

Rose, what is the surgery for? I'm so sorry you have to go through this, but it sounds like you have a good attitude about it, and you know with all your amazing weightloss, you are in much better shape for surgery! Good for you! :hat:

Let us know how you are doing! You'll be in my prayers!

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts!! :)

Surgery went great and I got the go ahead from my doctor today to start SB again.
I've gained some (okay a lot) of weight back. I'm now at 216 per the doctors scales, as of today. :o

I basically had my armpit dissected/surgically removed and had a skin graft taken from my thigh to cover it. So far, so good. I don't have cancer (which was a possibility), I have/had an infection of my lymph system that would not go away with antibiotics, so they removed everything. I'm looking forward to healing and getting back to life. :D

I'll be back on the wagon with you girls tomorrow. :)

God Bless,
Rose :)

Thanks for checking in, Rose. I am glad all went well. Were you on an IV in the hospital? That could account for some of the weight gain as I'm sure it wasn't an SBD IV! Drink lots of water and heal fast.

Welcome home Rose, I've missed you.
Chris

Glad everything went well, Rose. Sending wishes for a speedy and total recovery.

I was on the bio page and noticed where you live. I have a friend who lives in the same general area, in Corning...and I have a cousin in Chico. :)

Hi Rose, Sounds like you've been through a lot, but I'm glad things went well. Speedy recovery!

beachgal 09-08-2004 08:22 AM

Rose, so very glad all went well and you now have a clean bill of health! What a traumatic surgery! :( Do you now have the side benefit of no need to use deoderant on that side? :D

I'm sure Ruth is right about the IV. I be a lot of that weight is water. Try a week of Phase 1 to chase all that sugar (electrolite fluid) out of your system, and I bet the weight will drop right off! ;)

:grouphug: Glad you are back!

jenne1017 09-08-2004 09:36 AM

Thoughts for a speedy recovery too!!!!

Good luck with the surgery and take care of yourself. Anxious to hear from you when you get through this time. :grouphug:

Rose -- I am glad you hear you are OK. Did you have hidradinitis by any chance? I had what sounded like a similar surgery on both armpits about 8 years ago. But, mine did not require a skin graph. Anyway, hang in there!!!
