SB Rules for breastfeeding mothers?

  • Anyone know if there are any SB rules for breastfeeding mothers? I tried to do phase 1, but woke up twice extremely shaky and weak. Am I to go straight to phase 2? If there are any rules..please let me know.
Thanks for all of your help.

  • Pink Cinnamon, I'm not a doctor (and I would advise you to talk with your OB/GYN or regular doc on this), but in the meantime, I would switch to Phase 2. I know that children don't do Phase 1. I would figure that as long as you are breastfeeding, you need to be careful. So talk with your doctor, okay?

BTW, congratulations on your little one! When did he/she arrive? Would love to hear all about it!
  • It also might make a different how much your child is nursing. My son nursed for two years but the frequency cuts down as they eat solid food and drink milk. No matter what you do though, make sure you consume lots of calcium and eat plenty. Your doctor will probably be able to give you a good idea of what your body needs at this stage. I agree that switching to phase 2 until you talk to your doctor is a good idea.
  • Thanks for the help. I have started on phase 2 now.I will also ask my doctor. My little girl arrived on June 25, 2004 at 4:29 a.m. She came in a hurry, I was only in labor for 6 hours. Salma Racheal weighed in at 8lbs. 6 oz.

  • Congratulations on the arrival of your dear daughter, Pink!

Barb, I breastfed our son for two years, too. I only nursed our first (exclusively!) for a year because some idiot doctor told me to stop. And I listened. I loved nursing my babies.
