What was your experience with adding carbs in PhII?
 
Hi, I'm wondering what others' experience was when adding back carbs in Phase II. I must have gone overboard by adding a glass of wine AND a whole grain piece of toast because my weight loss stalled for several weeks. I was overdoing the pistachios though, so that might have tipped the scale (pardon the pun). :tape:

I stepped back to one added carb per day and the weight loss started again. I'm officially down 20 pounds since starting SB 7 weeks ago. :dancer:

I can't believe I should stay at one Phase II carb per day though. What experience have others had?

It takes a little trial and error to get the hand of it. I'm not a good example, because I always stall after any significant weight loss. I usually lose about 5 pounds then I'll stay within 2-3 pounds, losing and gaining the same 2-3 pounds for several months then I'll drop another 5 pounds or so. Be patient, you're doing the right thing, It's best not to add too much in the beginning. Try one thing, see how it makes you feel, then the next day try something else.

I added whole wheat/oat pancakes once and found that even though they are good carbs, I can't personally eat them because I can't stop at one or 2. I kept going back all day eating just one or half of one.

I've found that I stall/gain if I have too many carbs as well.. so I usually keep my consumption to a minimum. I'll usually have one (sometimes two) servings of fruit three times a week, and the other days I'll have a whole grain piece of toast. Anything more than that makes my weight go up or sit in the same spot for weeks. I take multivitamins and fiber supplements to make sure I'm still getting everything I need.

I find that I can only add one starch or one fruit on alternating days. If I add more than that, my weight loss stalls.
