New Chick on the Beach....

Hello all!

My name is Sarah. I'm 19 years old and been on SB for about 2 months. I'm constantly checking in for recipes and such, but never posted. I decided it was time.

A little about me (but not enough for a bio) ;) -
My mother and I own an internet trading company. We have our website where we sell Amish Style Furniture. We also sell antiques and collectibles on eBay for ourselves and on consignment. It's a crazy life, but we actually make a living doing it. We have 2 locations now, the largest being a warehouse that does business liquidations as well as normal consignments. Right now I run the smaller one in a larger town with my fiance Bryon. This location is small, quiet, and nice. But it's gonna get crazy...we're in our first week here.

I still live at home with my parents, but this business is going to build both my house and my parents cabin eventually.....(here's to hoping).....in time for my wedding in 2006.

My dad's a diabetic and he's going in for major back surgery next Tuesday. 8 hours on the table.....and it's not the first for us. He beat Kidney Cancer 2 years ago with surgery and that's how our family business got started.

So since his sugar is always sketchy, I convinced the whole fam to start on SB. My younger sister has really picked it up, which I'm very proud of as she has some losing to do to get back to healthy and beat back pre-diabetes.

I have a dachshund that comes to this office on Fridays....she's Bry and my baby....Zoe is the name.

Anyway, I'm your average young entreprenuer. My life is stressful and I live for it. I enjoy reading, especially JD Robb and Nicholas Sparks, as well as photography when I get the time.

Welcome, Sarah!

Good for you on getting your whole family on SBD! My mom is Type II and I would love for her to start it!

I'm in upstate NY too, near the Finger Lakes...whereabouts are you?

AdiaFaith 08-06-2004 03:39 PM

Dad's Type II as well, but he just got started on medication.

I'm located in a small town called Cameron Mills. It's about halfway between Corning and Hornell. How about you?
