Good morning...wow, it is actually still morning for nine more minutes. Glad to hear everyone has had such a successful weekend. Wearing a pair of pre-pregnancy pants to work today and I'm ecstatic. DH and I made a delicious roast chicken for dinner last night and I think it's even better on my salad today. Tonight we're having grilled steak. Yummy!

Cottage: Welcome back! I'm also from SE PA.

Have a lovely day, chickies!

Hi ladies-

this no internet connection/computer is a real problem. I've wanted to post forever and so many times this weekend because, I shopped. I am bordering on a 14 now. I have not gotten on a scale in over a week I think [since last weigh-in] because I am bllloooooaaaattteddd! But clothes are fitting better now!

I bought 3 pairs of jeans [2 men's size 36!!!], another bathing suit, some tanks and wow do I feel good. Well, I did. Now I am tired.

Why you ask?

I woke up at 5:45 a.m. and went to the gym this morning!
Go ahead. Go back and read. I will wait. I know you are shocked with disbelief.

I said I would try it months ago and never did get myself motivated and out of bed. Then it hit me. I still want to lose another 5 lbs., at least, by the time I go to Puerto Rico. I am also going to see my aunt and cousins in 3 weeks. They have a pool. Plus, the last time she saw me was 2-3 years ago, when I was at my heaviest.

So, I go out of bed.

And man, the gym is busy at that time! I might have to go again in the AM tomorrow since I have to work late at an event. Did I just say that I would do it again?

And how do people wake up that early anyway? I know a few of you do too and I don't know. I feel like crashing as I type this!

Hope you are all well. Will try to read back this afternoon!

Jenn :coffee:

Hi everyone

Way to go Jenne! There is life on the planet at 0-dark-thirty! I want to read tomorrow that you got your butt out of bed again and went to the gym. If you don't you will feel sooooooo guilty, because you won't be able to post that you did!! (I'm a mom, I do the guilt thing well, I caught it from my mom) I also want to read about what you did at the gym and how much you love it!!!

Everyone else HI! There were so many posts my head is spinning. You all sound so upbeat and excited about a Monday morning....it's infectious!!!

I'm kinda hung over....not from drinking (I've never tried that) but from working all night on Saturday night. When I got home at 0830 yesterday morning I felt like I had been hit by a semi truck. Ugh. I'm definitely a daytime person. These last few days have been extra shifts that the director of nurses has begged for. I have a hard time saying no to double time. (I know.....prostitute)

Well, the scales continue to be stuck. The progress is slow, but I'm OK. I'm going for a number, I'll have to see what I set my goal of for the month of July.....hopefully it wasn't too hiigh.

Grilled kabobs for dinner tonight. I'm putting chicken breast, yams, green pepper, onion, sirloin steak and mushrooms on them. I'll season with lawry's seasoning salt and white pepper.

Already did my run, will probably go to the gym tonight and hit the weights.
Have a great Monday morning!!!!!!!(or afternoon whereever you are)

Hi ladies,
I tried to post earlier but I realized I had nothing to write about! I came to the conclusion that that isn't really going to change much so I'll post. I'm just sitting behind a desk watching the computer lab at my school (I work for ITS at my college) and NO ONE is in the labs today. Sheesh, I should have called in!
Anyway, just got back from lunch which was what they called a garden salad with chicken but was really lettuc, chicken, and I think I saw a cucumber... but it was alright. I put blue cheese dressing on it and it was pretty good!
Jenne: I want some of your motivation! Congrats on getting to the gym so early. I am going tonight but I wish i could get up in the AM like that. hehe.
Well, enjoy your monday guys, if thats possible. hehe

My goodness, so many posts to respond to!!

There is so much I could type... :D I love fairs. I would love to be living in a town where the fair came like you described. We have little fairs, but nothing like that and certainly nothing where the kids ride their bikes to watch with anticipation.

Jenne - YIPPEE for early morning gym workouts!! Like you, I am not a morning gal and so I truly envy your dedication this morning.

To all our gardeners, you are inspiring me to spend some time outside during nap time tomorrow. My garden is set up about as maintenance free as possible (I do square foot gardening) but there is always something to do. Better check on the jalapenos, they should be ready for picking and drying.

I did EXTREMELY well at all our parties this weekend. I was proud of myself and honestly, I could tell DH was proud of me. Ended up with just chicken and some sad lettuce on my plate at yesterday's party, my girlfriend's family is the poster fam for sugar sweet foods. But I stayed my course.

I did have one cheat, but let me tell you the story. My 8yo neice made fudge yesterday during a big thunderstorm. All by herself (well, with guidance). We went to visit after the party and she served fudge pieces on pretty little flowered paper plates. I initially said I really did not want any fudge but the look on her little face, I took a small piece. And I gotta say, it was damn good. But since I had not even had any sweets this weekend, I don't feel guilty.

Just had some lunch, I could not stand the thought of another salad today and was lazy. So since I had a hardboiled egg and string cheese for breakfast, I had a small yogurt with Fiber One and blueberries for lunch. Dinner tonight is baked talapia with fresh asparagas and steamed snap peas from our garden. Might make some couscous for DH. YUM.

Hope your afternoons are as productive as the mornings sounded!!

LOL RNMOM!

that guilt may just work! I never got it growing up so I am not used to it ;)

I was late for work this AM though -- took too much time tinkering and showering when I got in. I have to work on a plan so that I won't be late...

TOMORROW ;)

RNMOM 07-19-2004 05:11 PM

Jenne....

I'll be watching for you......if you sleep in, well your alarm is going to go off and you may turn it off and roll over, but you won't be able to go back to sleep. I'll be there nagging you...........

For Clovey--

A frog-strangler is a storm that hits so sudden and so hard that the water doesn't have a chance to soak in right away. That's what it is...why it's called that is one of those great mysteries of the south.

I smell my yummy pot roast so, off I go to eat some dinner. You all have a great evening!

Mamacita

jenne1017 07-19-2004 05:48 PM

Ok, ok RNMom! Gym it is. Wanna call me repeatedly to get me out of bed???? I'd feel so much better knowing someone else is there, in another state, in another time zone, with me in spirit!

Kiko 07-19-2004 07:53 PM

Evening chickies!

Sounds like Kabobs were the dinner of choice tonight. I made the ones from the SBD cookbook with the peanut sauce. They were delish!

I am so tired today and have very little energy. Hopefully a good night sleep will cure this! Sorry to not respond to people individually!
