OMG!

That is so funny to me because I have the same "alarm clock." My DH-to-be used to always forget to wake me up or reset the alarm clock until I gave him permission to "wake me up with any means necessary." Needless to say, he doesn't forget to make sure I'm awake before he leaves anymore! :o

That is so funny!! Ladies, it is a VERY dependable way to make sure you get up. Your partner will make sure of that!

hi all

My hubby is in Texas for the week so I've had an easy time staying OP.

It's too cold here to start the garden yet, but I did plant lettuce and spinach a month ago to see what would happen. I have little shoots showing. I'm envious of your gardens. Doesn't dirt feel good on your hands?

Sorry for the sickies. Take care of yourselves.

Well, I'm at work getting ready to send an earache home. ya'll have a great day!!

ellis 04-15-2004 04:09 PM

I HATE it when someone taps me on the shoulder when I'm sleeping! I admit, morning is better, though. At night, I just want to read my book until it hits me in the face.

Jodi, it's going very well. The nicer I am to him, the easier it gets. And vice versa. heh heh.

So I went out with my girlfriend today. I'm on these new drugs, right? Affexor. Plus we recently added Topomax. Well, my friend thought I was in a VERY good mood. And when I hit the parked truck in the parking lot at Ikea, I was STILL in a very good mood. Happy, you know? I was happy all day. Like I'd had a couple too many. I've just left a message with my doc. Am anxiously awaiting his reply, because I don't think I should be living (definitely not driving) in this state of perpetual happiness. I hope I don't laugh when he calls me back. It was all I could do not to giggle into his answering machine.

Oh Ellis! It is such a nightmare to try to find the perfect concoction or dosage of meds to get it right. Hang in there and good luck!

Ruthxxx 04-15-2004 05:16 PM

OMG, Ellis! Does this mean that you'd actually answer the phone if I called? :lol3:

South Dakota Chick 04-15-2004 05:39 PM

Ellis-is it Affexor or Effexor? I was on Effexor for several years. It was the best pill for my anxiety and depression that I ever took. It took me years to find the right balance between feeling like I'm high or being a vegetable and not moving. :dizzy: It also not only didn't make me gain weight, but it made me feel like working out. I don't know if it gave me energy, better self-image, or what. If it didn't cost $150 a month (in the US) I would probably still be on it. Good luck with perfecting the concoction for you.

Darn! Can't access this site at work (do you think the governmnent thinks "chicks on the beach" means porn???) So I try to check in most evenings. Jealous of gardens -- our yard is "rental" while the house is being built, and I want to plant trees in our home to be!!!!
I won't be on for a few days -- we lost our dearest friend and will be going to SC for closure rites. Last night, spouse and I both just wanted to crawl into a bottle of wine, but decided we'd just still feel bad -- and lousy in the morning on top of it :faint: We've decided that grief is not an excuse to leave the beach, so we're going to try to SB it the whole time. But on SUnday there's a "gathering of the clan" at our friend's favorite Indian restaurant -- I think we're going to have to stray slightly or starve :p . See you Tuesday!

ellis 04-15-2004 07:57 PM

Natter, I'm so very sorry you've lost your friend. Sending you love and prayers and peace... :grouphug:

Thank you, Imarah. :)
No, Ruth. ;)
Meredith, I think it's the same thing. There are different spellings. I can't seem to get it to work for me. We've upped it enough so that I no longer feel like leaping off a cliff, but I don't feel "good". (you know what I mean) I'm not looking for ecstasy or anything, but I was on Prozac for six years, and apart from fatigue, I used to get up in the morning and think, "Life is good! Thank you, God!" I just want that feeling again. :?:
I'm sorry it's so expensive for you. :( I don't know what we'd do without my DH's insurance drug plan. Are you on anything now? I'm wondering if I should go back to my beloved Prozac. Perhaps I'd be less tired now that my trainer is forcing me to work out six days a week. :D

geez. I go to work and miss all the juicy talk. It's gardening, gardening,
(s-x), gardening, gardening, (s-x). Normally I appreciate mornings myself. But if I wait long enough, DH can score an evening or two from time to time.

Planted two more six-packs of pink impatiens yesterday. Actually only dug the holes, little dd planted them. She's hot to trot on the flowers, she gets me to finish the gardening when I'm feeling lazy. I have some creeping mint that I'm trying to keep alive. Little kind of gross secret: don't throw away your old fish scraps. Skin, heads, bones, etc....I dig it all directly into the garden (about 1 1/2 feet down to avoid flies and dogs digging). Flowers LOVE this. They get big, beautiful, and lush.

About creeping mint....smells like peppermint candy melting on a stove...sweet, sweet smell that wafts up when you walk on it. I buy it every year and only parts of it survive. It's expensive but beautiful. Someday I'll cover a garden patch with it so my DD's can lie in it to look at the stars.

Hmmm, I missed some pretty juicy stuff today! But seriously, you should try it in the afternoon. Definitely divine.
Penny, get well soon.
Ellis, hope you get your meds straightened out!
Natter, very sorry about your dear friend.
Little Chick, you sound like a very sweet person, I bet your family and friends just adore you!
Everyone else - gardening is the best hobby there is as far as I'm concerned! I completely lose all track of time when I'm busy in my garden.
