Don't want to cheat!!!

This is Day 9 for me and things are going very well. Better than I thought and I want to Thank everyone for the support and advice on these boards. My son's 3rd Birthday is this Saturday and we are having a big party for him. When I started this diet 9 days ago I had every intention of cheating on Saturday( there will be pizza, pigs in blankets, chips, subs, cake & ice cream). But now that I have started and the cravings are gone, I DON'T want to cheat! I think I will be Ok if I have a good lunch before everyone comes and I munch on the veges and dip during the party. Can't believe I am going to turn down my favourite foods! :hb: :hat: :cb: :strong:

Good on you! I feel so disillusioned now when I go to things are there are NO foods available that are OP. I don't even want to eat the stuff but there is nothing else around to eat. You could try making up a few dishes of adult food to serve separately (vegie sticks, little satays, lean meatballs, feta cheese, hommos etc). Make sure you have diet sodas in the fridge.

Congratulations on getting over your cravings.

Tracy, you can do it! Chick on the Beach's idea is good... have some GOOD OP food in the house so that you're not tempted by the sugary crap. Good luck! :lucky:

You can do it!

I started South Beach and about 10 days later it was my birthday and my son's birthday (we share). Anyway, there was cake, pizza and yummy things like that. I felt that I too had overcome carb cravings and didn't want to have a setback, I was doing too good. So I ate sugar free jello and had my legal food. I felt a little sorry for myself until the next morning, when I still respected myself and stepped on the scales.

Try to get past the "now" feeling of instant gratification and get to the "how will I feel after" feeling.

Isn't that feeling the greatest?? Feeling like you CAN resist temptation...when before you knew you couldn't. It is the best!
