Monday Chat

mornin' all

Well, another week. I more or less stayed on track all weekend (the less being the white wine at friend's house on Saturday), and feel renewed enthusiasm for this week's big weight loss effort. I keep imagining those clothes I want to get in to next year. Or even this year....

Little Chick, sorry things have been hard for you. The cleaning out a room thing sounds like a great idea. I often get the urge to do that after an emotionally tricky time. There is nothing better than that fresh feeling when all the old stuff has been cleared out.

And Ruthie I loved that web site. I have sent an email to the local chapter to get some info. In my therapy practice I specialise in helping people release their inner red hatness. My most recent success with this is a client who has announced that she is in training to be a witch 'although my husband has some reservations, so I just told him he could leave and live with my sister for a while until he got used to the idea ' To complete the transformation she bought not a red hat, but yellow and black bee striped tights ('great arnt they?'). Fantastic. Distracting in the therapy room, but fantastic.

Morning Clovey, the past week certainly has been draining. Then to top things off I woke up with a cold and am feeling crappy today. But I really need to get back on track. I am going to clean sweep the kitchen today. I really don't feel like it but I am going to do it anyway.

GavinsMom 02-16-2004 07:25 AM

Good Morning Clovey! What an amusing story!!!!

LittleChick, I hope youre feeling better soon!!! I need to do some of that cleaning and getting back on track myself, hang in there!!

Well, we're snowed in AGAIN!! UGH! I am so ready for spring and warmer weather!!!!! I am grateful for the treadmill we purchased a few weeks ago, now I have no excuse for not exercising (no matter what the weather). :tread:

I've missed you guys and missed posting, hopefully I'm back on a regular basis. (I need to go read and catch up as well.) Now I'm off to weigh in (TOM, so I'm not going to freak too much). I hope everyone has a safe and OP day today!!!!

Quick wave as I am freezing cold and need coffee, the woodstove and warm doggies.

Big hug to Little Chick. Feel better soon.

I love it, Clovey! Release their inner red hatness! We all need to do that, no matter what age we are.

Back in a bit.

little chick 02-16-2004 07:48 AM

Thanks for the hug Ruthie I really needed that today I am feeling a little blue.

justjodi 02-16-2004 09:19 AM

Ruthxxx 02-16-2004 09:38 AM

Heading out the door in a few minutes. It is a gorgeous sunny day but too darn cold. Hersh has a bit of a bald spot over her eye and I want the vet to take a look at it. Such a fuss over the Doggage! Lucy has a fur-styling yesterday and is feeling a bit chilly this morning. She has now decided that she loves her red coat!
Have a super Monday!

Little Chick~~~Take it easy for a few days. I can relate to that "blue feeling". You have been so busy taking care of things last week. Now that things are quieting down, you have the mental time for it to sink in. That's when the grieving really starts. It's OK to feel bue and cry. Actually it's good therapy. Just know that we are all here for you with our thoughts, prayers and support.

Ellis~~I hope you had a marvelous birthday. How are the new meds working for you??

GavinsMom~~Welcome back to the beach

Good morning to Clovey,Jodi, ruth and all those yet to post. Let's have a great SB week:dancer:

Monday (ugh!)

Good Morning You bunch of beautiful, brilliant, dazzling women! ;)
Monday once again...we'll get thru it! Good job to everyone with the nerve to weigh in after VDay weekend!
Ellis: Happy, happy birthday! Celebrate...you deserve it! :)
Chaz: Welcome back! We missed you!
Hello to everyone else!
Well, Saturday night I splurged and had a TINY slice of the most decadent flourless chocolate cake after dinner! (I did NOT touch the mashed potatoes that came with my prime rib!!!)..but gosh, was that cake GOOD!
Then I had 2 (yes only 2) Godiva chocolates from my Valentine box...YUMMM!
I am going to allow myself one a week as a treat! (Well, heck, I can't throw 'em away can I?????)
Let's make this a fantastic week, girls! I am challenging us all to stay OP all week! We can do it! I am also going to try exercising at least twice this week (I did the Tae Bo tape yesterday...I can barely move side-to-side today! Good Lord! That is QUITE a workout!).
Have a wonderful day,
Jan :)

clovey 02-16-2004 11:21 AM

One chocolate a WEEK??!! Impossible.

that is why you, Jan, are 149lbs, and I am a woeful 226lbs.

ellis 02-16-2004 12:57 PM

Clovey, congratulations on your good choices on the weekend! :hat:
(re: the chocolates... yeah, I'd have to eat the whole box at once. May as well just get it out of the way.)

Little Chick, lots of hugs and prayers coming your way, sweetie. :grouphug: Make sure you set aside some quality time for yourself. xoxo

Traci, I hope you're getting lots of use out of that treadmill. ;)

Jodi, I hope you've warmed up!

Ruth, it's not TOO bad out there. I just got back from my appointment. The smells in the Market were fantastic this morning! Baking buns and maple sugar!!

Sil, I had a good birthday, thank you. How was your anniversary?
I don't think the meds have kicked in yet, but I'm hanging in there... thank you. ;)

Thanks, January!
You have AMAZING self-restraint, girl.
Hey, isn't Tai Bo GREAT! You feel like you could (this is totally politically incorrect to say) kill someone afterwards!

Hello to everyone! :grouphug:

Ruthxxx 02-16-2004 01:30 PM

It's actually up to 28F right now. Hershey and I just walked down for the mail and back. She has lost a whole pound since she weighed at 59.7 last Wednesday. She weighs about what I need to lose so we are both working on it!

I have my pussy willow wreath on the door to encourage Spring thoughts. (Yes I did take down the porch Christmas lights first!) Now I am going to do some more sewingroom tidying! I REALLY REALLY AM DOING IT - not just moving stuff out of camera range!

MICHELLDB5 02-16-2004 03:13 PM

Hi everyone,
My name is Michelle and this is my first time to your board. I started the SB diet two weeks ago and am down 10 lbs. !!! :cb:

I really like all the support you guys give each other.

A little about me. I am 36 years old and a divorced mother of two great boys.
I have a great boyfriend that I have been with for almost 2 years. We live in sunny San Diego, California.

I really like this diet and plan on sticking with it until I am down to my goal.
I currently weigh 167lbs and my goal is 135lbs.

I am hoping to lose another 10lbs by the end of next month. We are taking a Carribean cruise for 7 days. :sunny:

thanks,
Michelle

I totally agree with Clovey. How could she do one chocolate a week. As a kid I used to watch Willy Wonka (movie about the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Anyway, he had that chocolate bar that he just had a teeny tiny piece every night. Um, there's no way that I could ever do that.

This is the reason that there are NO illegal foods in our house. Everything in the fridge and cupboards is totally allowed. I couldn't even begin to do that.

We finished our bedroom, and I love it. Nice how a light color can make you feel less stressed. Loving the taupe and pink bedroom.

GavinsMom 02-16-2004 04:44 PM

Hi Michelle!! Welcome to the beach! A cruise sounds wonderful and what a great motivator!!! Glad you joined us!
