Hello from Carol
Hey. I am new to the South Beach Diet. Actually going to start it this next Monday. I am looking for the best way to get started and all the support in the world!!!
Any helpful and informative advice would be absolutely wonderful!! I am 52 years old with 3 grown children and 12 grandchildren. I work as a legal assistant and my husband and I also own a dairy farm. (small compared to some) We are milking about 135 cows 2 times a day. It is a 7 day a week job which my husband does most of since I have a job off the farm. If you want any more info about me, please feel free to ask. I am an open book. I hope you will include me in your adventures to lose weight and get healthy because that is my goal. Hugs to all my new friends (I hope) Carol |
Welcome, Carole.
Gee, around this part of the world 135 head is a BIG operation. I love bossies but know how much work they are! In my heart of hearts, I still want a single Jersey. You will find lots of support, friendship and information here. Be sure to check out the FAQ and recipe section, especailly if you've not bought the book yet. Ask questions and please post on the daily thread. Once again, welcome to The Beach. |
Welcome, Carol! We're so glad to have you join us!

Hey Carol welcome to the beach! Nice change of weather from Ohio! Wow I love cows! We had a Jersey when I was growing up. All us kids who could afford to buy milk. We had a blended family and it totaled 12 kids. Which 11 lived in our house at one point! I could churn butter in 5 mins.! Anyways glad to have you here and yes we are your new friends but also your new family! We love to give and receive support! I bet all the g-kids love the cows and the farm. Lookin forward to seein ya post around. ;)

Hi Carol! Cows! That sounds like a nice life, although very hard work if you are working off the farm as well as sharing the managment of it with your husband. When I was a child we went on a short holiday to Wales and stayed on a dairy farm. I had my first ever glass of warm milk straight from the cow. That was a very memorable thing. One of life's musts I reckon. Although now I am one of the people you probably cant stand as I am lactose intolerant..... :(
One day I will have a goat though. And I will make cheese. And have a little orchard and keep bees. I do have a wormery for composting (bought from a company called, brilliantly, 'Wiggly Wigglers'). Look forward to seeing you on the Beach!! x |
Hi Carol  Welcome to the beach.
