Morning!! I am on Phase I Day 7. I actually did wake up a little later than usual, my daughter came in and woke me up. She is so grumpy when I wake her up, I have decided that she is most happy when she gets up on her own terms, aren't we all....
So, I have been working on a spreadsheet that has all my food information on it. I have done Atkins, and WW and now SBD. I think I stuck with WW the longest, and they count points, so I was really in that frame of mind when starting SBD. For my own info, I started counting points along with SBD, than I added carbs, now I am up to fat and calories. I usually do not get enough nutritional info to actually capture one entire day of eating. I am good up until lunch and by dinner I usually break down and stop keeping track. But yesterday I did keep track of everything! I can't believe it. But, let's see if there is a point here....hmmmm....Oh yea, I just really wanted to capture a window of my nutritional values for the day. I'm not sure if it was a good idea or not. I think it may give me a reason to eat more if I see low numbers!! My next thing is I am off to searc the net for the FDA recommend daily allowances, if anyone knows where these are they can always let me know! Well, I hope everyone has a great day!!!! |
Hi Little Chick and all else! You and I are clearly on the same clock today!
Thank you to everyone who sent good wishes about my mother. It is very touching and heartwarming to read them, sometimes I just feel despairing watching her decline. I have two brothers, but they are a bit useless. Thank you to all of you. And Dentrassi you are right, some of the hardest things are the things that really make us who we are. It is that whole thing about the grain of sand being what creates the pearl (if you dont know about that, in the beautiful mother of pearliness of an oyster, if a grain of sand gets in, the oyster secretes more mother of pearly stuff to coat it and stop the sand hurting its insides, and the layers of that create eventually a pearl). Last night I went to my friend's gig at the Troubador in London. She was wonderful (although I hate smokey venues). She stayed over so I had blueberries for breakfast with her, which is not phase one legal, but I had an urge and my tummy is feeling much better. I am really easing myself in to phase two anyway, so it is ok for me I reckon. Then the phone rang this morning with a possible new client, and I could really do with some more work so that was very nice. I am at that financial stage when I am using up my reserves, and still ok for now but by the end of Feb, or mid March there is going to be some trickyness unless the work comes in pretty pronto. I have not been out there a-gathering really, so I am not too worried. Aimee-Jane I live the other side of london, down in Surrey - I put 'London' on the thing as it is easier for people to relate to. I work in north west london so drive in a lot. Welcome to the beach. Who was it yesterday who said they felt scared of bread? It was Pebbles I think. Made me laugh too - I nearly jumped out of my skin last night when my friend reached in to her bag and pulled out a large bar of my favourite dark (65% cocoa) choc with cherries ( :faint: ) I have to confess to three squares. But chocolate has something of the divine in it, dont you think? It kind of hits your crown and third eye chakra and vibrates with that.........ooooh......you know, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm sound. People say chocolate is like sex. I disagree. I think it is like prayer. Melting and meeting and uplifting and longing and devoted. I once did a two week silent meditation retreat, and fasted through it, except for three squares of chocolate a day which I had smuggled in in my suitcase for the wee small hours. Bliss. Did not share my revelation with my retreat guide though...... ;) How did I get on to that?? Oh, that would be the craving....... Ah. Better go now before I seduce you all in to choc heaven....Dr A is very sensible to put chocolate in phase two. No more proof is needed of his genius. xx |
It IS a good morning!
Hi everyone,
Don't usually contribute to the chat, but wanted to get on in there. I am at work, it's quiet, must have been subway troubles. I started walking to work (25-30 minutes) and I quite like not having the hassle of the cars. Now, it's Toronto in winter and so it's quite cold, but with the right layers and a good coat, I am laughing all the way to work!!! Plus, it's exercise which I desperately need to fit in somehow! It's the benefit of living downtown, I guess. Feel better after my pizza breakdown yesterday. Thanks for the support! :goodvibes: I have realized that I have only lost one pound this week, after doing nothing differently from last week. Hmmm, that's frustrating. Well, just wanted to say good morning to everyone and wish everyone a good day and all that. I read these posts daily and it really does help to know that someone else is out there doing the exact same thing. :grouphug: -Jenn. |
Good Mornin'!
Good Mornin' Chickies! :)
I had a wonderful surprise this morning.... although the scale only shows another 2 lb loss as of yesterday (12 total since 1/8/04), I put on a pair of pants this morning, which fit fine 2 weeks ago..and they fell down past my hips! :o I was at my DBF's, so I didn't have anything else to wear for work (the "date" outfit from last night was a little too low cut!)...so I was laughing hysterically as DBF "hitched" up my pants with several safety pins! I had to wear my blouse hanging outside to cover up the pins & tucks! I cannot believe that my body has changed so much in such a short amount of time. This WOE really is working & I am thrilled with it! Last night at the restaurant I ordered a grilled pork loin & grilled string beans...and asked them to hold the crispy fried potato/apple pancake that is usually comes with..had a couple glasses of cab & felt totally satisfied. I barely missed the fried tater goodness! :dizzy: I am glad I found the SBD...I truly believe it is something I can stick with as a way of life, and not revert back to my old bad habits (Oreo's at midnight...you get the picture!). Have a wonderful day & keep up all your great work, girls! We are gonna be fabulous babes on the beach this summer! WoooHoooooo! ;) Oh..I tried the All-Bran Extra Fiber cereal yesterday..it was very good & help me all morning...altho...that FIBER! sheesh! :o January |
Back again chickies... go to make a cup of tea and the phone starts ringing. Then my sister appears online and was chatting with her. :dizzy: Plus trying to do a little housework in between. Well I went shopping last night and bought myself two new bras what bliss. I also got a box of hair color. And a new sexy little nightie. (can't wait to surprise DH with hopefully this week-end TOM of course.) It feels good to do something for yourself.
clovey are you the oldest. Your remark about your brothers reminds me of me, and I am the oldest. ;) and choc is my sin of choice as well. Have a great day. sorry chicks I have to leave again. The wee ones needs me. I don't think it is my day. I just can't seem to get a post finished. :?: Hello to the rest of you fab chicks. BRB |
Good Morning! I was online at 12:30 last night after rehearsal and was tempted to start the daily chat but it would have been a really whinging one so I resisted.
Naturally everything that could possibly go wrong last night went wrong including one actor tripping and spraining her ankle! Oy! Anyhow, the women in the audience loved us and there is nothing better than getting a great laugh to make you forget missed light cues. (Grrrrrr at the brain-dead technician who lit the wrong side of the stage for me and then switched back to the proper place after I'd moved into the light! Duh! Maybe hearing the word vagina so many times rattled his brain!) The make-up "expert" was also a dud. She made me look like Medea with her wobbly eyelining so I hied me back to the dressingroom and did it over. She was not pleased but admitted it looked a lot better! Enough whining! A bad dress rehearsal means a good performance tonight! Today will be a relaxed day - slept until 8 - and I may even get the laundry done that I started on Sunday morning! I have postponed our homecare person until tomorrow afternoon as I really did not want to go anywhere this afternoon. I have to take a big (20 person) fruit salad to our Church Annual meeting Saturday morning so will do a "fruit" shop Friday afternoon. I solemnly promise to be back on track starting Sunday and will be in here more often. These days I barely have time to read all the posts, much less comment on them all! :grouphug: |
Ruthie good morning. You are right a bad dressrehersal means a great show. You will be beautiful. Hopefully the makeup person will get it right. :D You will get back on track. There is nothing worse than being super busy and trying to eat right at the same time. Good luck Sunday will be here before you know it.

Yes, I agree with Little Chick, Ruth, a bad dress rehursal is a wonderful thing to behold. And the lighting man will be saturated with the v word and able to concentrate. Hopefully. Here are some leg breaking (NOT ankle spraining) smilies for you
 :bravo: :joker: :cb: :cp:  :flow1: :goodvibes :grouphug: :genie: :cloud9: :queen: :crossed: :balloons: :df: :lucky: :encore: :encore: :encore: :encore: :encore:  :sunny: :sunny: :cheer: :encore: :encore: :encore: :encore: :encore: |
:encore: Break a leg tonight Ruth! I cannot wait to hear how it went! Did I mention that my daughter is a budding actress (actor ?) too. Her last play was "Noises Off" and she played Brooke Ashton. Yes, complete with the underwear on stage. She is in High School, so we have to be very careful about choosing her costume. She is in another play now, but it's for a competition, I cannot remember the name of the play...it's very odd though...something to do with robots...
Good morning to everyone else! January, happy to hear about your loose pants! I was pleasantly surprised to see that I lost the 2 pounds this morning that I found yesterday morning. :cp: Think it was the salty sunflower seeds. Off to a good start today OP, hope the rest of the day goes well for all of us! |
Well Goodmorning everyone! I did get on at 6 and was wondering where everyone was at. Before I could start a daily thread a friend started Im me and have been talkin with her until she got knocked off by her dial-up server. Thank goodness for cable! My 14 yr old son is home with a really bad sore throat. (yeah right, ok) I'm sure he will feel better about noon. He always has summin wrong but today I caved! Must be the rain. Not much happenin around here. Feelin that sweepin and moppin from yesterday. Especially in the 'ole knee. I need to go get groceries today but with the rain it's probably not going to happen. Not to mention 20mph winds. Ok now that I have had my whine for the day. haha I just have to say how wonderful I feel enrgy wise since I have cut out all the junk. I am so glad I do not have cravings. Yesterday my mil sent dh and kids home a pot of meatballs in marinara which was smelling really good all the way home. 35 min drive. I told her thanks! haha I did eat 1/2 a meatball lastnight. The first thing I have ate that I knew was not phase 1 but figured it would not be enough to hurt. Ok this has taken way to long due to interuptions! I hope we all have a wonderful day.
|
Oh my gosh! Ruth sorry I forgot to wish you luck tonight! :dizzy: I'll say a prayer for you and the crew! ;) I guess I could have edited my last one but...I didn't!
|
Morning Chicks!! I set my alarm to get up at 6:15 today to walk on the treadmill before my actual day begins. ;) Back on Phase 1 and feeling those cravings but I wont give in!! I know from experience that they'll go away, I just have to stay strong for a few days. :strong: DS is feeling much better, thank goodness. I think I let stress get the better of me this week and it affected my eating. The Father/Daughter Valentines Dance is this Saturday so I was out this morning trying to find DH a tie. I cant wait to see them all dressed up. Our daughter is 5 and such a Daddy's girl, this should really be an experience.
Ruth, good luck tonight!! I'm sure it will be fantastic!! :encore: January, congrats!! I know at times I've felt like I havent lost any weight yet my clothes fit so much better. Maybe I should ditch my scales..........nah. I hope everyone has a wonderful, OP day today!!! :grouphug: Traci |
Go Lou-Lou!
Go Lou-Lou, Go Lou-Lou!
Good job with the weight loss! It must have been the salty seeds! :dizzy: It must feel good to see them gone! Jan |
