Introduction and Newbie Question
Hi,
I am new to these boards (glad I found them) and wanted to introduce myself! I live in PA and am at-home mom to 4 little kids. I like to sew, do yoga (when I can), and enjoy my family (and babysitting time too!) :D I'm still on Phase I...it's been almost 2 weeks but I fell off the wagon this weekend (one slice of pizza and a pb sandwich and some red wine) so I'm sticking with Phase I until this weekend. Last year I lost 16 pounds on weight watchers and felt so amazing! Unfortunatley we've been dealing with a great deal of stress this past year, and so I put back about 10 over the holidays. However, the new weight's coming off fast - I think I've lost about 5 lb or so on South Beach...hard to tell because I'm waiting for the Metamucil to work! It certainly is a lot easier to follow than the points system, and also more healthy (ww didn't really address sugars at all). Question - What do you all do for breakfast besides eggs? I've been eating Atkins bars and just had cottage cheese, but am looking for ideas. Thanks so much, Denise |
Hi Denise and welcome to The Beach. You are almost a neighbour as it seems half of PA vacations here every summer.
Breakfasts? Check out the recipe and FAQ sections. Anything goes for breakfast instead of eggs. Shakes, leftover dinner, oatmeal when you get to Phase II..... think outside the box! Atkins bars are NOT a good choice as they have hidden carbs and sometimes stall weightloss. Good luck with the Metamucil. Remember you can eat legumes on Phase I - kidney beans do it for me! |
Welcome Denise you will love the beach. You are not to eat bars on phase 1 or any phase if I am correct on that. As for breakfast ideas during those first few weeks I had some weird cheese strings wrapped in fat free turkey slices. Had left over pork chops one morning. Don't think just about breakfast foods and check out the recipie sites. You will get some good ideas.
