Week End Chit Chat

Morning chickies it is cold here this morning -30 something again. Thought I would start us off as I seem to be the first one around this Sat morning. Which is shocking. Well have a great day I am off to teach my dance class.

sflake 01-24-2004 08:23 AM

 Morning All!

We must be having a heat wave as its only -10 here

Lots of organizing to do today, I cleaned out a bunch of closets now I need to get the stuff boxed & off to the charity site.

Have a warm & fuzzy day!

ellis 01-24-2004 08:25 AM

-34 here with the windchill, Little Chick. Good morning.
So, you're going outside, huh? Or do you have a tunnel dug directly to your dance class.

I've gained three pounds this week. That does it! I'm heading down to Texas. Get my bed made up, Chaz. Ruth? You coming? We'll swing by Little Chick and pick her up once she's finished teaching that darned class.

ellis 01-24-2004 08:26 AM

Sflake, you may come, providing you stop all this bragging.

Ruthxxx 01-24-2004 09:20 AM

Whew! I made it. I woke at five this morning with a few old-lady aches and pains and took two Tylenol. Next thing I knew, it was 7:20! :)

The woodstove died in the night - well, almost - and you could see your breath in the back room! That's serious! I fired it up again but have only one piece of wood left now. Any volunteers to go out there and bring in more? Maybe I'll just break up my Georgian chest and burn it - that's a piece of furniture, not the other "girls"!

I survived my overbooked day yesterday! Harry was OK with Jane the Homemaker except he got that "lost" look in his eyes when he realized I was going to leave him with her. She seemed to like him and got along OK with the dogs. The only problem is she's a really fast mover - almost runs - and the Girls bark when that happens! The ARE herding dogs basically! This too shall pass.

Rehearsal went well again last night. I was very tired and asked if my stuff could be done first - we are not doing straight runs through as yet. Worked fine and I was on my way home by 8:45 and had my warm milk in my tummy by 9:30. It sure makes for a good night of sleep!

Today - aside from the frassing firewood - will be a snuggle up at home day. I will go to get the paper after plugging in the block heater for a while on my poor car. I am going to make a couple of things to put in the freezer for the next two weeks when I have a rehearsal every night and will do something "special" for dinner tonight.

So what's happening with your weekend?

Deets 01-24-2004 11:57 AM

Hi, Everyone! :D

Just had my second cup of coffee, so I'm feeling decent!
I'm trying to get up the courage to go to the gym and exercise....but it's SO darn cold! :( I can't wait to head for Florida! This time next week we will be driving into the :sunny: state!

Today I'm finishing my last closet. DH painted it yesterday, so I couldn't put things back until today. We have a truck load of "stuff" to haul to Goodwill. They're going to love to see us coming! Probably can have a big party with all the things I got rid of. When we get back from Florida I'll tackle the basement storage room  and the garage. Those are the two "biggies" before the house is ready to put up for sale in March. After that I will be happy to present our home to any lookers. :smug:

Ellis....Texas might sound good to you right now, but just wait until June, July and August!!!! :flame: :hot: you can fry an egg on the sidewalk! Our son lives there (and we did for 4 years) and I still shudder to think of the summer temps! :o So stop whining, and think good thoughts of your cool Summer days! :D

Sflake.... I'm so proud of you for your closet cleaning. Had I done that on a regular basis, I wouldn't have so much clutter now. :p

Ruth...sounds like you're planning to have a lovely, restful day. I envy you!
Ditto the aches and pains...I just took 2 Motrin!

Littlechick....Hope your dance class goes well today! Try to stay warm. :)

My DH and I just had a L_O_N_G conversation about "house selling and buying." I'm already getting a huge headache about the whole process! :headache:
I can see this is going to be major stress time! :stress:
Gotta go finish my closet! Talk later, Chickies. Have a great weekend!
Sharon

dentrassi 01-24-2004 12:58 PM

Looks like we will be having a BORING weekend, which is a GREAT thing right now!!!

1busymomma 01-24-2004 01:19 PM

Going to have a slow weekend, was supposed to move but got delayed again. All due to the title company and I am extremely peeved at them because this is the second 3-day weekend I've had in a row in which to move and now yet again I can't. Closing date was yesterday and they had no problem cashing my down payment yesterday though. I've been pretty upset over the whole thing.

Also decided I am going to have to haul the ex back to court and file for no visitation or limited visitation w/supervision. He has gone over the edge this time. Long story short in a couple of months he is flying to Asia to pick up his mail order bride. We had already had a discussion in which I told him I was not going to tolerate him exposing our kids to more women, because they are exhibiting strange behaviours that are NOT normal for small children and having problems forming relationships with people. The ex loves woman and loves the internet and has had a steady stream of women with no break and if he's not with a girl hes on the net doing God knows what. I have to get my children in counseling it is so bad. He agreed to change and modify his dateing life because of the kids and their problems and now look at this mess! So the minute he flies to Asia I am filing against him. The whole thing is sick and this is why I forced him to give me full custody in the first place while he had 2 week visitation each month, i did not want our kids falling through the cracks and here they are.....................falling through the cracks over at his house on his time. There is obviously more to this than a mail order bride and issues do run deep but I've had it and I am worried sick about my kids. They deserve so much better than this and the sad part of it is that even though they are there 2 weeks out of the month they barely see there dad, so it is pointless to have them in such an unstable enviroment. AAAARRRGGG! I just want to tear my hair out and cry.

So, that is my stressful weekend. Hopefully we will be able to sign and get our keys to the new house on MOnday and start moving in, meanwhile I am cleaning out and throwing away what we don't want or need. New house, fresh start and a more simplified lifestyle which is what we need.

Sorry to be a downer but I needed to vent a little.

Other than that, been OP on my plans well at least on the WW end of it. Need to work on SBD more as I have cheated with fast food and frankenfoods the last few days. Will work on getting back on track this weekend! I've read everyones posts and hope you all have a WONDERFUL, AWESOME weekend!!!! :) :grouphug:

Jennifer 3FC 01-24-2004 01:57 PM

Emily, I'm sorry about the problems with your ex husband. Would he go to counseling? One way to look at things is that maybe his bride will settle him down. Maybe he just desperately wants a wife and is looking in all the wrong places? I know women like that!

I am hoping for a quiet, boring weekend. I've had one so far, but Rob wants to go see Big Fish this afternoon and I have a cold and just feel yucky and don't really want to get out in the weather and the crowd. But we have a babysitter, so I hate to lose the chance. We need to go out shopping anyway. My chest is raspy and I sound like a man. It also makes me crave comfort food. The mashed potato kind. :( Why don't I crave salad when I'm sick?

1busymomma 01-24-2004 02:42 PM

She'll settle him down for a grand total of 2 months, that seems to be his average and then after that he will go right back to his other girls and internet extracurricular activity. That is a big reason why I left him and divorced him to begin with, he constantly cheated on me. :(

He thinks he is looking for love, but in reality what he is really looking for is a live in maid and babysitter with side benefits. He refuses to get counseling and refuses to see things for what they really are. And seeing as he has promised to change and things keep getting worse it is time for me to put my foot down. I've given him two years to get it straightened out and the benefit of the doubt time and again but this is just the final straw. I really had hoped that he had gotten it together with this last girlfriend that he had (I really liked her and trusted her with the kids, a first out of many!).

The whole thing is just gross and sickening, but unfortunatley it has not dettered my appetite!

Sorry to hear you are sick Jennifer, hopefully you will feel better in short order. :grouphug:

chazmom 01-24-2004 03:22 PM

HEY ELLIS......Yes, Texas gets very hot in the summer...but we have this to keep us cool.....come on down!

COOL

PS...Yes, that was/is my house :D

I will post pics of the bathroom if we ever get it finished, shower curtain should be here next week and am working on painting the molding this weekend since we have a lovely day of rain.

I am going to read everyones posts now!!

Take it easy!

Bamiegurl 01-24-2004 03:43 PM

Well my day is full. Trying to get our rental house ready by the first. Total remodel. DH has worked his tail off working on this house. He wanted to do it all himself. :dizzy: We are home getting ready to go to Motocross tonight. Oh by the way did I mention the high downhere today is 60. ;) I hate real cold weather. I love to look at the snow but I don't like it to stay and it don't. And yes everyone in the south does run to the store and get milk and bread if they mention the word snow or flurries. Why I'm not sure I mean there is a store on every corner now and it's not like we are gonna get snowed in down here. Anyway 1busymomma I'll keep you and your kids in my prayers as anything involving your kids emotions is hard. I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed week-end.

Ruthxxx 01-24-2004 05:16 PM

Bamiegirl, just get your fluffy butt up here so I can wash your mouth with snow! It's minus 22F at the moment and I think that might have been the HIGH for the day.

Note to self: Get Suzanne to reject all Southern Registrations between November and March!

ellis 01-24-2004 06:17 PM

Just a quickie...
Emily... hugs and prayers for you and your kiddies. You're a good Mom... hang in there. :grouphug:
Jen, get better soon, sweetie... :grouphug:

back later...

chazmom 01-24-2004 06:59 PM

I'm back! Had to run eat linner (lunch dinner combo) We were going to Texas Land and Cattle for linner today and kids eat free on Saturdays til 4. Yummy! Had a filet with a side of sauteed mushrooms and a salad...was very satisfying.

1busymomma - So, ya'll have joint custody now? I guess you live close so it doesn't interfere with school since he has 2 weeks and you have the other 2 of the month. I would definitely file for sole custody. A mail order asian woman?? What is he thinking? Sorry, wouldn't trust the relationship with my kids there to witness it. Good Luck to you..I hope it all works out in your favor. Good Luck on the move too! Are you excited about the new house?

Ruth, little chick, snowflake and Ellis..you gals stay warm!!

Jennifer..so sorry you are sick, if you make it to the movie, let me know how it is...I want to take Charlie but he is busy playing PS2 today!

Bamigirl...we vacationed down at Orange Beach this last summer..it was wonderful! We are tossing around Destin this summer though, everyone says when you go a little further the beaches just keep getting better. But we had a great time in Alabama.

Ellis..don't fret over the 3lbs, lets say it is a little water retention :D

I will go catch up now on the other posts before I get to far behind.

Take care!!!

little chick 01-24-2004 07:54 PM

Hi gals just a quickie ;) before I go pick up my youngest dd and her friend from a birthday party. Oldes dd and her friend are babysitting then they come back here to hopefully go right to sleep as we leave at 7 am sharp to hit the ski hill. So I am just getting some lunch and snack ready to take with us. All SBD friendly baked a ham, making deviled eggs, yogurt, salad and brazil nuts as well as some apples. So it will be a fun day of exercise and good eating. Although they are saying it is going to warm up to a beautiful
-25 with the windchill. My dance class went well we are working on our dances for the end of the year dance show. My 3 and 4 year olds have theirs down pat, but my 5 year olds are not the best behaved class so it is taking much longer thank goodness we have 15 weeks before the show hopefully they won't have to commit me before then :dizzy: .

Ruthie- glad that you had a day out, hopefully Harry will get more comfortable with Jane. Good luck with your rehersals. Wish I could send dh to you he loves to bring in wood. Keep warm lovey.

ellis- could you pick me up tomorrow night after skiing I will need to go somewhere warm after a day in the cold. No tunnel dug but that is a good idea, Ruth does your Kevin dig tunnels.

Jennifer- hope that you are feeling better soon. Enjoy the movie with you dh. Nice to have a date night.

busymamma- your ex sounds like a jerk, I am sure that your dk will be fine you seem to be on top of things counselling is a wonderful thing. Take care.

Well I have to run the party ends at 9 and it is 5 to. Sorry I can't post to the rest of you. Have a great day tomorrow and I will talk to you all soon.

dentrassi 01-24-2004 10:03 PM

Emily-Sorry to hear about your JERK of an ex. Vent all you want sweetie. I agree with you. keeping the kids safe and sane is the top priority.

Chazmom & Bamiegirl-OH CRUEL, CRUEL WOMEN.....

(It is about 2 degrees F here...Not as cold as you chicks in Ottawa have it, but still TOO COLD!!!)

ellis 01-25-2004 07:38 AM

Ruth, did you get some wood in? I kept waking up in the night and wondering if the furnace had broken down again. (it hadn't. phew!)

Sharon, darling, the trouble with Ottawa is that, not only is it a "freeze-your-a**-off-in-the-winter" city, but it is also a "fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk" city in the summer. Actually, it's the humidity that'll kill you. (I love it when John Candy says that in "Cool Runnings". )
I'm sorry you're stressed about the house, hon. :grouphug:

Jennifer, how's your cold? Did you see "Big Fish"? You'd better take the week off from work. :grouphug:

Chaz, is that your POOL!? Your house is beautiful! Goodness me. Yes! More pics, please! :)

Bamiegirl, how's the rental house coming? We're got a rental apartment that we've been working on for... oh, quite some time. :yikes: It's finally almost ready. If we could just find the perfect tenant...

Oh, so now you're going SKIING, Little Chick!? Good, GRIEF!! You're really enjoying this winter thing, aren't you. :D One of our neighbours told me he takes his mountain bike "tobogganing" down the slopes. He offered to take me. Yeah, RIGHT!!

Den, are you having a nice boring weekend? Don't you just LOVE boring weekends!? I haven't had one of those in... oh, YEARS!!

DD has spent a couple of nights at my parents' place. I'm going over there for a coffee this morning. I'll see what state my sweet Dad is in. He's having his monthly blood transfusion tomorrow, so he'll be pretty white and puffed out at this stage. :(
Then this afternoon (maybe if I write this down I'll actually DO it!), I'm going to bake some oatmeal molasses bread for my poor stressed sister. She and her partner gutted their house this summer, and they're still living in a real mess.

I'm going to warm up the car... have a wonderful day, all! Love and hugs to everyone... :grouphug:

Deets 01-25-2004 10:36 AM

Good Morning, Everyone!

We are having a major ICE STORM :( this morning! The State Troopers are advising everyone to stay off the roads....so I guess no church this morning for us! Funny how everything seems to be doing OK weatherwise with no predictions of foul weather coming. And then Wham!!!! It just hits suddenly! They didn't even mention this until last night late. I'm going to have to dig around in the freezer and pantry to see what I can come up with as far as "eats" today. I don't usually go to the grocery until Mondays....so Sundays are usually pretty sparse.

Oh, well, I need to get more files cleaned out anyway. I may even cuddle up with a good book this afternoon! ;)

Emily...My heart goes out to you, hon'. You are a wonderful, caring mom!
Ruth...Love the pic of Hershey!
Ellis...you are so sweet to spend the day calling on your family. The bread sounds absolutely delicious! :hun:
Little Chick....you are the champion Winter Sports Chick in my books! :bravo:
Den....have a wonderful , restful, uneventful remainder of the weekend, hon'. You deserve the rest! :D
Bammiegurl, and Chaz....take me to the "warmlands!" I'm ready and waiting for a ride! :dancer:

Hugs to all the Chickies on the Beach today! Have a great one!
Hm-m-m-m.....maybe I could just slide to the grocery????
Or....maybe not!
Sharon

Deets 01-25-2004 10:44 AM

Ellis, honey....

I'm so sorry to hear about your Ottowa extremes! :o
Are you trying to discourage me from visiting?
If we sell our home quickly, I was thinking of moving into your spare apartment until we can find another house!!!!!! :D ;)

Seriously, I'll bet it's just a beautiful place! :)

Stay warm! The Oatmeal Molasses Bread sounds lovely! You are a good sister!

mozolady 01-25-2004 12:23 PM

hi fellow south beachers....i haven't been active on the boards.....and probably won't...but i do love to come here and see what everyone is up to and aska questionn or two. I just don't have time for the daily chats...I love this south beach diet......I've lost 10 pounds since switching from atkins....(lost 40 on atkins in a year)
I am really enjoying chili, brown rice...whole wheat bagals...and grits....yes i'm a southern gal. Keep up the chatter....i do read even if i don't respond

1busymomma 01-25-2004 12:34 PM

Happy Sunday Morning!

Well, I stepped on the scale this morning and I have dropped another 4 pds this week! I thought I was seeing things so I washed my face and gave myself a minute to wake up....stepped on again and yep I was correct! That is 8 pds in two weeks! I am one happy girl. :D

I had my kids last night, my son acted lost and my little girl had an attitude and was being a holy terror. I know she was doing it for attention. We went to walmart and I bought the pretty woman cd (old movie but great dancing songs!) popped it in when we got home and danced our hearts out then we played with playdoh the rest of the time until the last hour and then it went even more downhill from there. :(

I have FULL custody of these kids. I demanded that during the divorce, so that I could make all of the major decisions for the kids and so that I would have more control. He only agreed if he could have a two week visitation each month. A big part of that reason was to get out of paying me child support.

The last few years have not been to bad incidents here and there but the last 8 months or so have been a nightmare for the kids. I have enough evidence in hand to walk back to court and demand limited supervised visitation or no visitation w/child support this time. If I deny him visitation at this point I would ruin my case in court, although it is tempting to not turn them over.

Chaz- your pool looks so inviting. I love to swim even though I am not that great at it. I was dreaming of hot weather the fact that I am determined to wear a bikini this summer, lol........

Deets: stay safe! I know what you mean about getting slammed weather wise, and then it seems to never quit. Have fun relaxing.

Ellis: that bread sounds so good, it's not sbd friendly is it? Hey, it never hurts to ask......

Jennifer- did you go to the movie? I don't even recall seeing an advertisement for that one. Was it any good?

Hello to everyone else....going to run and get ready to face the day. :)

dentrassi 01-25-2004 12:57 PM

HI ALL!!!

Ellis-We're like that here too, although our winters aren't quite as cold as yours. It CAN be bitterly cold, and during the summer it is often hot and ALWAYS humid!!! We have to go to the store to exchange DS17's birthday present today. (It was defective...) but other than that we are having a fairly boring weekend. Except for the temperamental flair ups we are getting from DS13 lately. Hope today is explosion free!!!

Deets-Sorry to hear about the ice storm. Those are a PAIN, and they always seem to happen when you are out of groceries!!! We must have the same weather predicters. Either they say a MASSIVE STORM is coming and then it snows an inch, or they say NOTHING and all heck breaks loose!!!

Emily-How old are your kids?

1busymomma 01-25-2004 01:16 PM

Den, my son is 5 and my daughter is 4.

GavinsMom 01-25-2004 02:13 PM

Howdy all!! :) I hope everyone is staying warm today!! We're in the middle of a BLIZZARD!!!!!!!!! It started snowing here about 8:30 this morning and my kids couldnt be happier!! My husband drove me to the grocery store about 9 since I'd planned on doing my weekly shopping today. BIG mistake! The parking lot looked like Walmart on Christmas Eve! (I wonder if anyone understands, lmao). Anyways, they had Spaghetti Squash so it was worth the hassle and long lines. Ok, so we're supposed to get 8 to 10 inches which for us is like the storm of the century! I'm glad I bought that Tae Bo tape last night, now to try it out. Anyone else tried it? Right now I feel like eating everything in the kitchen. Something about getting snowed in, hibernating and comfort foods........ sigh. I think I'll go try to make something yummy w/ the ricotta I bought. :hun:

busymomma, so sorry about what you and your children are going through. I'll definitely keep them in my prayers. :grouphug:

Deets, please keep the ice to yourself! I love snow but the ice ALWAYS causes a power outage here! :lucky: I heard its supposed to start freezing rain around midnite but I'm hoping not!!! We have the kerosene heater and sleeping bags ready just in case.

Everyone have a great Sunday!!! I'm actually looking forward to weighing in tomorrow Chaz!!!

Later,
Traci

little chick 01-25-2004 05:59 PM

Hey chickies just checking in I am home from skiing and totally frozen but I did get 8 runs in and no falling :) My eating was totally out of control today. Well take care gotta go and watch 7th Heaven my fav show.

GavinsMom 01-25-2004 07:53 PM

Ellis, I'm keeping you and your Dad in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

I hope everyone had as relaxing a Sunday as possible. See everyone in the morning.

:bubbles:

ellis 01-25-2004 08:39 PM

Thank you so much, GavinsMom... you are a dear girl. :grouphug:

chazmom 01-25-2004 08:51 PM

Hey Girlies!!!

First I have to say that I made the Spinach and Ricotta stuffed chicken...It was fantastic!!!! Everyone loved it, even the kiddos! I told them the green stuff was just seasoning so they would eat it!! HA! :D I saved half of my chicken breast to have for lunch tomorrow..I can't wait!

Pretty uneventful here today, it was 70 degrees!! I feel for all you covered in snow and ice..yuck! I am North, outside of Dallas, so summers are not humid...just HOT!

Gavinsmom...Yes, I totally know what you are talking about with the groceries and an icestorm...as soon as the weather man says there could be a chance of ice or snow, I immediately run to the store with the entire city!! We southerners were never taught how to drive in the snow! ;) Be Careful...and I am looking forward to weighing in tomorrow too!

Ellis...I hope your dad is well...and bread sure does sound good right now!! :hun: Yes, that is my pool and house...since I have finally figured out how to post pictures, I will send some of the finished bathroom next week when it is done...I was starting the boys rooms next, but had forgotten I have a new dining table and hutch being made, so will need to get the formal dining room painted here in a couple of weeks...so look for all of my home improvement project pictures..more to come!

Deets...Be careful in your ice storm too!!!

1busymomma...Congrats on your 4lb loss!!!

littlechick...I have never been skiing, looks fun, but I have a fear of going right over the side of a mountain...guess I have seen to many movies where that happens...oh, and snow is far away from me :D

I guess that is it...hope everyone is doing well...don't forget about Monday Morning weigh in tomorrow...I must run! Sex and the City is starting soon!! Can't miss it!!!

Bye!

frannymae 01-25-2004 08:59 PM

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to all my chickies! Cold and snowy here, but it is changing to freezing rain just in time for my nightly trek to work! :(

Emily, good luck with your legal quest...I know all to well how hard custody issues are! It sounds as if you have a good case to get the changes you feel are important.

Ellis, sending good thoughts for your dad...and for your sister, too! Sounds like she'll need it if you are baking her something! ;)

All this nasty weather just ticks me off. I know that is a perfectly odd reaction to it, but I can't help it. While the rest of the world is snuggled safe and hopefully warm in their beds I am digging my way out of the driveway and braving the unplowed roads. I'm just being a big ol' baby! :p

Busy week for me...my schedule changes this week, so I work tonight, have tomorrow night off, but then turn around and work 2 more nights. Plus we decided we are going to drive up to the Cleveland area to see my in-laws on Thursday afternoon. Of course I haven't finished Christmas shopping for everyone since we never mail gifts but just go up as close to the holidays as we can manage. So, on my one day off I have to shop and wrap. My own fault, I know. My nephews are getting gift certificates...bad Aunt Franny!

I am in a state over finding fabric to upholster cornice boards and slipcover a chair in my great room. I have sent a way for numerous swatches, and of course nothing strikes my fancy. I am determined to find something I LOVE, not just something I can tolerate. I thought I had found it, but of course it has been discontinued and the company I was going to get it from doesn't tell you what the REAL name or who manufactures it, so no luck finding it elsewhere. Gee, I am getting on my own nerves with all this whining! :o

Okay, I'll quit...for now. I fully reserve the right to whine more at a later date or time. You guys feel free to join in....I don't mind one little bit! he he he!

Bamiegurl 01-25-2004 11:42 PM

Well it's a little after 10 here and I'm on what I call slow time. Sunday's are busy with church and all and everyother Sunday I have to drive to meet the ex to get my ds. It' not bad about an hour each way. Worse part is the two lane mountain road and being stuck behind peeps that don't know it. Busy trying to get ready to leave on my trip tomorrow. Really stressing over the food thing. Why I don't know. The one that is wearin me out is breakfast. I'm not big on it to start with and would love to just drink a shake which is a nono so I think I'm just gonna have a V-8. If I'm right in reading we can have those. I'll have to take along the tums as well. I've packed some sugar free jello for snacks and i have plenty of bottles of water to take along as well. Lunch and dinner are no sweat as I can find sumin to eat with those.

Frannymae I hope you have low fat cheese to go with that whine. Couldn't resist. Last Sat I had to do the same thing. Only I didn't even get them wrapped until they were already here! :p

Ruth.... Please don't throw mw out I'll be a good lil southern gurl and not tell you how it was in the 60's today! Early rain and then SUNSHINE! :^:

Chazmom Tryin to get the dh to get down to Gulf Shores but he went one time (1) whole time said he didn't like and never wants to go back. Everyone raves about it and says it is a real nice family place. I guess maybe me and the kids are gonna have to load up and go without him.

dentrassi...cruel or blessed?

Ellis Well the rental house is almost done. We do have a renter already which is a great blessing. We bought the house in late Aug. had to totally gut and redo the whole inside. It has never seen a square wall in all it's days. The lady that had lived there well let's just say DHS said it was not fit to live in. :?: I guess you could say she had (has) some issues.
