I am afraid!!

I think I'm eating too much!! I am checking the book and his portions are so SMALL!! I am eating almost double what he suggests. Like, I eat two to three eggs at a time. I may have 3/4 cup of Ricotta dessert. I have a cup of veggies, maybe a cup and a half at a time. Oh my god!! Am I screwing up? I just feel like I'm eating too much!! Please tell me if I need to cut back. I haven't weighed myself so I can't even say I've seen a weight loss. I've been on the SBD since last Monday, so, nine, maybe ten days.

No I would think you are fine....In the beginning you eat til FULL. After the detox period you will find you are not that hungry anymore. Hang in there :D

Yes, eat till full, but do watch the amounts so that you aren't over doing it.

regardless of what types of food you eat, when you eat more than your body needs, you'll not lose weight (or gain, depending on what the case may be).
portion control, IMHO, is key to success in weightloss. I know dr a doesn't advocate counting calories or whatever, but you really do need to consider how much of something you are eating. calories are calories are calories.

I felt like I was eating all the time the first week. It seemed like I was grazing almost all day long. I was afraid I wasn't losing weight. I started emailing my menu into this website. I would always email the previous day menu, so I knew it was complete. When I actually saw the list, it didn't seem so bad. I was approaching this diet as a new way for a lifetime of healthy eating. I also didn't allow myself to be hungry. If I was hungry, I ate. I ONLY ate foods allowed in phase 1. This was new for me, as previously every diet I have been on, and that is alot, I accepted hunger as part of a necessary thing to lose weight. I am happy to say after week 1, I lost 10 pounds. This is despite the fact that I didn't count the first calorie or measure any amounts...except the almonds, then I only ate 15 a day max. I am very pleased at how easy this is. No measuring, no calculating points, no counting calories or fat grams or whatever. Sooooooo, anyway, don't worry so much about those feelings, but do weigh yourself every now and then, I would think once a week is good. The scale may suprise you, and it can be positive feedback. Now that we are on week 2, day 4, it seems that I don't feel hungry all the time. I still have snacks and 3 meals. I still anticipate days where I might feel hungry all day long...and I won't be afraid to snack extra on those days. Good Luck! Karla :sunny:

I know this is a bit late, but I wanted to throw my advice into the ring! If you are worried about portion size, you can make a few adjustments. Eat all the veggies you can, but cut back on the calorie dense foods like cheese and meat. Those are the areas where you can do the most damage portion wise. I, like everyone else, felt as if I were eating like a madman the first couple of weeks. But I lost 10 pounds, so I was doing something right!

You may have weighed since you posted this and found out you aren't eating too much, which I suspect will be the case. But if not, you can make adjustments and find what works for you.

Good luck!
