My parents live right next to Camp Pendleton Marine Base, where one of the fires is. I just read that they have asked people who live near the base to evacuate, btu nobody has showed up at the safe facility that they opened in Escondido, yet. Of course, Camp P is a huge base but I'm ssure that my parents can see the smoke. I'm going to give them a phone call in just a few minutes.
My prayers are going out to everyone in California, homeowners and firefighters. I've been following it on the news, and it breaks my heart to hear about the lives that have been lost.
I hadn't heard about the fire that had been set by teenagers. How awful!
My parents are just fine. The fire is almost contained and not near their house at all.
