Hi Everyone!
I made it through my dreaded dentist visit! They really did take good care of me, but I have such a hard time psychologically with any dental work. I was there over 2.5 hours, but I have my two temporary crowns and will get the permanent ones in 3 weeks. The worst is over. Whew! All soft stuff to eat today so I don't think I'll be on plan 100%, but that's okay for now. I'm just relieved to have it over.

Lisaward4! I am so glad that you decided to join us! Your menu looks great today. I think we have all struggled with covid weight. It's been a very tough year and a half, that's for sure!

Syckgirlsfv, you are going to have to lock that liquor cabinet up and not let hubby know where the key is! Maybe you can bribe him not to tempt you, lol!

Muffin and Pattygirl, I hope you are both doing well! Check in when you can. Crystalbelle and Maral haven't been able to check in lately, either. I hope things are going well with both of you, too.

Happy Humpday to everyone reading! I hope you all have a Beachy day!

Good evening, I'm really sorry I haven't in a few days. I have been super busy and I keep forgetting to do it. These few days I have been eating more PH2 than 1. We have company over and cooking for everyone is simply exhausted. On Friday we are traveling to South Carolina for the weekend. I think I will keep eating PH2 and on Monday get back to PH1.

B- scrambled egg with veggies and coffee with a splash of milk
L- chicken breast with broccoli
S- coffee with collagen and a coconut wafer (not on plan)
D- I will be having shrimp with mushrooms and yellow rice

Water so far 72oz and I think I will have another bottle (28oz) before I go to bed

Lisaward4 welcome, I'm glad you joined us. Your meals look good
MJMS- I'm glad everything went well at the dentist!

Happy Thursday! I had a little weight blip up this morning, but I am going to ride it out and not get too worked up since yesterday was off plan, a little salty and I didn't take my water pill yesterday before the dentist. Otherwise, I would have been interrupting the procedure with bathroom breaks. I just wanted it done as quickly as possible, lol! I am such a dental phobic baby! Nothing hurt and I didn't really expect it to. It's all in my psyche. Enough of that talk!

It was good to hear from you, Muffin! Company is wonderful, but you are right, they sure can be exhausting, especially when you are doing the cooking. I hope it is a fun visit, though. A trip to South Carolina for the weekend seems like a perfect antidote! Enjoy!

I'm going to work on some veggie prep today. I have some kale that I want to use and I like to prep my heads of romaine and get them ready for quick salads. I found containers a few years ago at Target that when you close them, you pump the top and it removes the air. They keep the romaine so fresh and crisp. I was going to buy some more because I liked them so much and they stopped carrying them and I have never seen them anywhere else. The ones I have are still going strong, but I would have liked a backup set. Maybe one of these days I'll run across them again. I also need to get in a walk while the weather is so nice. They are saying it is going to get really hot and humid again, so I should take advantage of it when I can.
Waving hi to Syckgirlsfv, Pattygirl, Lisaward and anyone else reading! Fill us in on how you are doing!

Good morning everyone!!
stayed on plan yesterday. for exercise went to the fitness center on my lunch hour and did 45 minutes on the treadmill. was going to do yoga with hubby last night but we are going to do yoga tonight instead. Going to go to the fitness center again today too. Monday hubby and i are going to start a weight training program. not sure how it will effect my weightloss but in the long run it will benefit everything. i plan on eating this way while doing the training.

heres my plan for the day
breakfast-protein powder with unsweetened almond milk
lunch-turkey sausage with peppers and onions sautéed in cooking spray
dinner- grilled hamburgers using extra lean ground beef on a lettuce bun with lots of veggies (onion/mushrooms cooked in cooking spray, pickle, tomatoe, )
snack-low fat cottage cheese and mini bell peppers

yoga 30 minutes
taebo 32 minutes in the fitness center
snack-non fat greek yogurt with splenda and sugar free jello

Good evening, today was another hot and humid day. It rained most of the afternoon and seems like it is going to rain more later on. I love rainy days but I really dislike thunder, so not looking forward to rain tonight. My meals today were pretty much leftovers from the week.

We are planning on waking up at 5am and be on the road by 7am. I'm not bringing my laptop with me, so I won't be able to check in until Monday.

MJMS- I need to get my hands on one of those containers. I bought one that has little holes but only keeps my lettuce good for 3 days after I cut it.

Lisaward4- That is great that you are going to start weight training. What program are you going to do? During the 1st week, you might probably gain a few pounds from water retention due to inflammation in the muscle but then your body will adapt and you will see the changes.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello Friday! Not much really planned for today, but I should get out as it is going to be a really nice day here! Then we are heading into hot and steamy for the weekend and beyond. No good news on the diet front from me, but I will keep on plugging away. I am battling the sodium again from last night's dinner. Water, water, water!

Lisaward, you are doing awesome with your diet and your exercise! You are going to be reporting a new low weight soon. I bet you are already feeling better, too. Keep up the good work! When you make your greek yogurt with jello and splenda, do you make the jello first and then mix it into the yogurt or do you sprinkle the jello powder on top, mix it in and eat it right away? I think I recall reading about people doing it both ways. I'll have to cruise the recipes and see if there is one for a make ahead version. I think I might like that.

Muffin, I hope you have a great trip! I am looking forward to hearing about on Monday! I agree with you about the thunderstorms. If I ever run across those containers again, I will post the info. They really are great.

Syckgirlsfv and Pattygirl, hope things are going well! Have a great weekend, everyone!

good morning everyone,
sunday i have lunch out with friends at a winery. i looked at the menu ahead of time so i know what i am going to eat planned. also no wine-just unsweetened iced tea. not sure what i am doing today for exercise. will go to the fitness center and do something. will post later. found a recipe for starbucks eggbites. going to make them this weekend with a bunch of substitutions (lowfat cheese instead of full fat-veggies instead of bacon). also thinking of making black bean soup and the recipe posted in this thread for crack slaw ( will use cabbage only instead of coleslaw mix). both make quick meals. the soup goes great with a salad.

heres my day today
breakfast- 1 egg and eggwhite omlette with lots of veggies( ONIONS, SPINACH, MUSHROOM, BELL PEPPER, TOMATO cooked in cooking spray) and 2 tsp of reduced fat feta
snack-protein powder in almond milk-plain and unsweetened
lunch turkey sausage with peppers and onions
dinner-grilled chicken breast, steamed broccoli, salad with lite dressing
snack -greek yogurt parfait as mentioned in previous post
will post exercise tomorrow.

have a great day everyone!! thank you for your support and encouragement

Happy Saturday! The weatherman says that there will be no rain, but there is a big, gray cloud overhead that sure looks like it! Maybe it will blow over. I really didn't feel like posting today because my weight is up. I know I haven't eaten enough to gain almost 3 pounds, but I did have salty foods the last couple of days while trying to stick to soft foods, so it's probably water retention, but it bums me out a little. I suppose it is natural not wanting to post when you have gained, just like I want to avoid the scale when I think I have gained. So silly really. My weight is the same whether I weigh or not and the same thing with posting. Putting it in words by posting will strengthen my resolve to fix the problem instead of letting it get out of hand. So true that it is easier not to gain that to try to lose what you have gained. The need for softer foods is diminishing now, so onward and downward! Today is a new day!

Lisaward, your breakfast omelet sounds so good with all those veggies. Yummy! Thanks for the info on the jello/greek yogurt combination. I bet the parfait looks so pretty, too! You also reminded me how much I like iced tea. I haven't made any in a while. I think this hot weather coming up would be a good time to do that. Hope the winery is fun!

Think I will head out for a walk now, before it gets too hot. Have a great day everyone!

It's a currently cloudy Sunday here, but we are supposed to move to the low to mid 90's and sunny as the day goes on. Yesterday we did some minor furniture rearranging and subsequent cleaning. Ended up being a workout! Today is unplanned, but I should probably think about how I want to fill it before the day gets frittered away or I wander into unplanned eating. The scale is still stubbornly up, but I will continue to try to fight it. Maybe a few Phase 1 days are in order to get things back on track.

Lisaward, you continue to do well with your eating and exercise! for you!

Hope you are having a great weekend, Muffin! Hi to Pattygirl and Syckgirlsfv and anyone else reading! Jump in when you can!

Good Monday morning! Hot and humid here today, not unlike most of the U.S. it seems. The scale and I are still not friends. But, it's my own fault. Today I will plan a shop to get some more on plan food in the house and renew my focus. I know this plan works for me, if I work it. That dental work sent me down a slippery slope that I am having a hard time coming back from, but I will. I have to, if I want to feel good and be healthy!

Wishing a great day to everyone reading! Please feel free to jump in and join the conversation. More support buddies are always welcome!

morning everyone! sorry I've been a bit MIA...nothing has changed. Weight staying between 165 and 166, which is NOT what I had planned but it's better than the 172 I was seeing a few months ago. A few off track days for sure! I have to figure out what to do now because my cholesterol went up 18 points! I have to give up beef and pork and higher fat cheeses I guess. It's genetic and I don't want to take statins. Doctor will try to give them to me tomorrow as they called to say he wants to see me.

Did well yesterday but drank gin Food was good though...DH barbecued and we rode a 16 mile bike ride in 90 degrees. Apple watch says I burned 616 calories.

Today is a new day and new week! Breakfast - almond flour tortilla with refried beans and mozzarella, green salsa, light sour cream and an ounce of deli turkey breast.
my plan for lunch is probably going to be steamed broccoli and grilled chicken
not sure about dinner yet, maybe something with a turkey burger patty - maybe I'll stir fry it with zucchini. Have a good day!

Another hot one today! Good day to hang out indoors, although I am feeling a little antsy. I need to get some ambition and get into some projects and exercise! Weight is still up from my low. Blah. But it is going down slowly. I bought a lot of nice veggies for salads and such, so I have some nice cool foods to enjoy that are on plan. The plan is in place, now to work the plan!

Syckgirlsfv, maintaining is good, but I hear you about wanting to lose more! I have to take statins for my genetic cholesterol problems. I gave done okay with them. I wasn't ever able to bring my levels down far enough without them, even at my lowest and most active weight. I hope that you have better luck with that, than me, but I know that my family history is particularly poor. 16 miles in 90 degree weather is a real triumph!

Have a great day everyone and stay cool and on plan!

MJMS do statins contribute to weight gain? I haven't tried that hard to lower it, I admit...but it went from 232 to 248 over 2 years. 232 was my high.

Welp, got a UTI going on...luckily already had the pain pills and my doctor's appt. for the lab results is today. My urinalysis did show the presence of bacteria but I didn't feel anything until yesterday. Ugh. I am not letting them weigh me today because I'm flushing with liquids and weight it up with all the water.

Last night's dinner was Italian chicken fingers and creamed spinach. May be contributing to water weight, too, but so yummy! At least, with the UTI, I won't be drinking at all this week! Our 15th wedding anniversary is July 4th, though, and we're going to Pechanga on the 5th for the night. Indian casino here in So Cal. Very nice! Nice sub for Vegas in between trips We used to go to Vegas every anniversary, since we got married there, but we aren't really up for all that heat as much anymore since we can just do an overnighter at Pechanga and it's half the distance. We prefer Vegas in the Spring and Fall, but when July 4th gets near I always wish we were there

So I am just drinking coffee right now (I realize it's not really the thing to be drinking right now with UTI but I'll have meds today) and I think breakfast will be egg whites, refried beans, salsa, and light sour cream. Maybe some skim mozzarella. I did buy some swiss and mozzarella for the fact they are more friendly regarding cholesterol...

Doctor is going to ***** me out I am interested in your input on statins, MJMS!
