Good morning/afternoon ladies! It's a marvelous day here in MS. It's cloudy and overcast but at least it's not raining. Hoping the weather gets cooler too. :dz:
I don't think my attitude has changed at all. I'm a very happy person and my attitude about my health has changed. I am more conscientious of what I eat and am hoping that losing some of this weight; I'll be able to stop taking some of my meds. I hate taking pills :dizzy: I hope you all have a wonderful day! |
Good Afternoon Everyone!!!
I'm back after 4 day weekend of doing absolutely NOTHING and LOVING IT!!! I stayed in my jammies til afternoon, we rented movies, read, hung out...and I am so happy to not have committed to a thing!! As my fiance said...."this was the best weekend"!!! Ok...so my food wasn't so hot...but all in all I stayed the same weight. I've decided to start Phase 2 since I was on and off Phase 1 for a couple of weeks. This weekend I did have some carbs, but didn't overdo it. I think I needed more carbs to lose weight, cuz I work out.:strong: I even had ice cream a couple of times!!! It's funny....I've realized that growing up, (in an italian family), we didn't eat low fat anything and I never had a weight problem. I was satisfied with each meal. When this low/fat free stuff came into my life...weight gain... When I ate this weekend...all full fat (good fat) stuff, I didn't overeat. :smug: Lady....great post again!!! I've noticed that my attitude has been changing. I'm really liking myself and feeling better about things which in turn passes onto my every day activities/interactions. I've always been a positive upbeat person to the outside world anyway...but now it's upbeat in the inside....:D So glad to see you all on the beach.. Good afternoon all: Marcie, thanks for the reminder of the attitude adjustment. Most of the time I have a very positive attitude, but every now and then I get into the blahs. :( this came at just the right time to get me back on the positive side.
Sounds like everyone had a good weekend, and none of us were too far off the plan. Did y ou notice that the South Beach Diet has made no. 1 on the best seller self help lists now. It put the 'Purpose Driven Life ' in the number two spot. There is another article in the new Prevention, with some success stories of people on the SBD. And some of the favorite recipes are there too. Pistachio Chicken salad was one of them. Den: I have the same problem if I eat a do-nut. So I've sworn off completely, and now I find that I'm not so tempted as before. We have do-nuts and coffee evevy Wednesday a.m. at our clubhouse, and I have 'so far' resisted , but sometimes the fragrance gets to me.:rollpin: Ruth: did you get to the salsa yet? How different is that from chile sauce? I used to make that, but I know that has a lot of sugar. Tomorrow is another day in our new way!:) Ann |
Lizzie-Ann, I do not put sugar in my salsa although my chili sauce recipe has it. Actually I make just salsa now although my sister keeps whining for me to make chili sauce because it was Grandma's recipe. Maybe I'll make her a dozen jars for a gift!

I wish I had read this this morning before the chocolate chip cookies, potato chips and probably half a jar of peanut butter. God I really had a pity party for myself didn't I. No wonder I am feeling nauseous. My attitude had been so good and so positive till today I don't know what happened except that I got lazy and maybe didn't feel like working so hard. Okay everybody just kick me in the butt and get me going again ok????? Julie
