South Beach Weekend June 24-25

  • Good morning!

Just a hello to get us started! I'm trying to get things accomplished this morning. Working now. I have to go up to a rental at 10 AM for an inspection. One I do not look forward to. I want to be finished with everything else before then so I'm going to keep going. Tomorrow it's back to the real job and I'd like a little bit of downtime.

Happy start to the weekend everyone!
  • Good morning, Debbie. Such a good idea to start the day getting a handle on your joblist! I should be doing that too instead of sipping coffee and browsing the Net.

I'm outta here shortly to do the bread pick-up and it looks like a great day out there. When I drop the bread off at the Mill, I'm coming straight home to bung some veggie plants and seeds into my newly renovated raised bed. I also need to bake a pineapple cake for tomorrow's Church picnic. We are going out this evening so it as to be done today.

Tonight's event is going to be fun. It's the "gathering of the clan" in Glengary to practice for the Maxville Highland Games in August and will be an evening of music, singing, step dancing and the Highland fling. There will be some practicing of Tossing the Caber and my man will be front and centre for that one. It's usually a huge crowd with a lot of "wee drams taken". We are taking along diet soft drinks since we have a two hour drive home. I'm sure I'll come home with a Scottish accent overlaying my Irish one.

Whatever you do today, stay out of trouble.

  • Good morning,

Been up for a while, tidied up, did yoga and just finished breakfast. I do need to weed and cut the lawn sometime this weekend and I want to get a pedi this weekend as well. Some of the water weight is gone, completed 1 day of Phase 1.

Debbie some downtime would be good prior to going to work tomorrow

Ruth thanks for adding the link, I am impressed that Bruce is still doing the Caber toss. Sounds like a fun time enjoy

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Late night last night....who cries at a Zack Brown Band concert???? This girl !!! And I wasn't even drinking!!! Last night was very tough. I kept getting word my son's company were calling to confirm they were graduating. No word at all. I felt guilty I was using DS's birthday present. Today I was up and put early to pick up the graduation cake for Joe's kids party. I am beyond happy to report, my DS FINALLY PASSED and will be graduating on time!!!!! So today turned out to be a great day! Tomorrow is the Yankee game.....oh and Monday will be P1 for the week with super clean eating until July 4th when I leave for GA.
  • Good morning - another fly-by post from Bride Brain. Lots of "adventures" yesterday and a very long hard day that ended at 2AM when we got home. So glad Bruce drove as he loves it and is an excellent driver, despite driving an old MG. Those darn things are so low by butt should be pared down.

Jennifer, so glad your son DID make it through. I guess that's the first - and biggest - step into his new life. Rose, Bruce decided NOT to toss the caber at the practice, and I'm very relieved. Men in competition with other guys are so silly and I want him around for as long as possible. His kids will be delighted that I dissuaded him. We much prefer weddings over funerals.

Time to get ready for today's social event - church in the Park followed by a pot-luck picnic and the usual kids games. I have a 4 PM quickie meeting with friend Doug who is going to"MC" at our wedding reception. After that, it'll be dinner and bed as tomorrow is another packed day - working the coffee club in the a.m. and a "surprise" luncheon for me at Quilting Biddies which I was going to skip until a friend tipped me off.

Still no weightloss - too much social stuff but I am holding steady and trying to make healthy choices. (Today's choice it to NOT eat any of the pineapple cake I'm contributing to the picnic.)

    Enjoy your day - it's a gift!
  • Good morning!

A flyby post with congratulations to Jennifer and DS! I'm just barely getting to work on time and my mom just called me to me to do something for her so I'm on the run. Have a great day everyone!
  • Good morning,

My allergies have kicked in, I am sure it was due to weeding and mowing the lawn yesterday, I also put down new mulch. My back is a bit tight and so are my hamstrings so did my yoga for my back this morning. Tried to sleep in late as I need to pick up DH tonight his flight arrives at 11:55 p.m. may try to get a nap in today, I have to go into work tomorrow morning am giving our new CIO a briefing at 8 a.m. Not sure what is on the agenda today, I did all of my chores. Eating is still op so scale is slowly moving back down hopefully by end of week will back to where I was.

Jekel whewhoo!!! Congrats, that is awesome news, so glad DS is graduating with his unit.

Ruth glad that Bruce decided not to do. That is sweet of your quilting group.

Debbie hope your day settles down.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hey chicks! I'm back safely after a nice visit.

    Ruth, the whirlwind continues!

Debbie, hope the day wasn't too stressful.
