Default The Week of January 30th to February 3rd

Good morning. We are back into proper winter with a sunny but very cold day on today's menu. I'm hoping the cold will kill off the germs that everyone claim are causing sickies. I have escaped, probably because I always get the flu shot.

I am off to meet the parson for coffee this morning. We figure if the biddies are gossiping about us we may as well give them some fodder and show up at the Hall together. After that, I'm off to the city to spend my Christmas gift cards and maybe check out Bulk Barn.

Have a good Monday!

Good morning and thanks for getting us started, Ruth! Enjoy your coffee with your person today.

I wanted to say hi quickly, just time to get to work this morning. Lunch is packed but I'm going to enjoy one last cup of coffee. Trip was great and I am committed to getting back on plan and taking care of those extra 2 pounds that showed up this morning. Have a great start to this week everyone!

Good morning.

Ruth enjoy your coffee and town gossip lol Let them talk!

Debbie loved the pepper picture from your trip. I have one of wrought iron gates covered in peppers from Old Alberqurque. You'll knock off those 2 pounds Im certain of it

Today I am taking DS to the DMV to renew his license. Since it expires Friday and its time to take the vision test again its easier to go in person. I should probably check their website to see if the paperwork sent in the mail is sufficient. Otherwise its just get myself ready for the work week.

We did see "A Dog's Purpose" last night. BAWLED BAWLED BAWLED lol I am really a softie when it comes to pups. Very sweet story line. I found myself really missing my Mick last night. Coconut got extra lovin when I got home. We will not discuss the food porn from yesterday....today is P1 and tomorrow too as I am sure the scale will reflect my indulgences but I am too smart to weigh myself today lol

Bundle up chickies!

Good morning,

It is chilly here in the low 20's, starting out wfh and then going in for a meeting at lunch time. Tuesday and Thursday will be in office days. Had a tree trimmer come give an estimate for the big tree out front needs branches trimmed back and got sticker shock. Have a few more coming to give estimates, hopefully they might be a bit more reasonable.

Ruth enjoy your coffee with the parson. I have a bit of sniffles but nothing major going on.

Debbie so glad you enjoyed your trip.

Jekel I was not op yesterday, well I was, but I over indulged foodwise and the scale is up a bit so I am also doing Phase 1 today and am thinking it might be time do for a few days to get back on track

Beth hope no snow delays for you today.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Tuesday morning. The new me is sleeping longer and not getting in here until later.

Yesterday WAS quiet. I had planned a trip to Brockville to shop but ended up doing odds and sods around the house instead. I did get more sewing done on quilt bindings. (My goal is to have two of the four quilts finished for next Monday's meeting. ) I also paid taxes and a few other end of the month bills.

Realized yesterday that I had not finished the end of the year financials for Victoria's Quilts so will focus on that today. I also want to draw up a job description for a new VQC treasurer. I've done if for six years now and it's time for a change. People want to know what's involved before they step forward. It will be very strange to ditch that job but I'd rather quilt.

Glad to see you home, Debbie. I am still resisting the temptation of a cruise to get away from the predicted back-to-normal February that's on its way.

Jennifer, have things calmed down much in NYC? Our news seems to be full of marches and vigils.

Beth, how much snow did you get? We just got a sifting but it sure is cold. More snow is predicted this week. I'll try to keep it this side of the River. That's the St Lawrence, not the Mississippi, Rose.

Gotta get cracking! My new rule is "Out of jammies by 9 a.m."

Late day check in for me....

Debbie isn't it amazing how our body knows the difference between work and vacation. I know my vest always seems so much heavier after being off. Hope your tootsies feeel better tomorrow.

Pearlrose its funny I re-evaluated my calories with my fit bit and lose it app (my weight was up mid month). Well it was suggested to increase my calories and viola I lost weight. It always feels good to see the numbers go down. You might need more calories since you have really been working out this month. Great job and thanks for keeping me motivated this month.

Ruth it seems like everyday there is a protest somewhere lol. Glad you are giving up the treasurer spot for VQC. You should be enjoying your time. Let someone else take on the responsibility. Hope you get some quilting time in today.

After waiting 2 hours at DMV we gave up yesterday. I have never seen our DMV that busy before. Instead we grabbed lunch before DS had class. Today was just the usual work, then home to work out. Now its TV time then bed around 9. I know I lead an exciting life lol.

Hi Beth hope you didn't get too much snow today!

Good Morning!

Tootsies feel better and I have to get going here. I have a 2-1/2 hour drive for a pool date....must leave soon. I slept a bit then HAD to pay bills before I got going. I need to pack and move car then we are off. Weather is super nice. I wish I were staying here to work in the yard. Oh, well.

Have a great day everyone! Happy Peak of the Week!

Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit! Such excitement with Groundhog Day tomorrow - not! Both today and tomorrow are snowy so no furry will see a shadow. (I could do with Spring by mid-March.)

Spent the day doing "homey" things yesterday and didn't even put the car in the barn overnight. There was a fair amount of snow brushing to do so I could move onto the road so Richard can get in to plow. This means I will at least go down for the mail later. I need to put some of yesterday's mail sent off.

Debbie, seems like a long drive to the pool. Hope your tootsies have recovered. I keep forgetting how putting sore feet up helps them feel better.

I wonder how Amy is enjoying her vacation and her "new and improved" body.

Jennifer, sorry the wait was so long and that you had to give up. Any idea why it was so busy? Our expiry notices are staggered throughout the year with your birthday being the deadline. We have "stuff" going on up here in Canada too with our police and military forces on alert.

Pearlrose, glad you had a "normal" start to the week. Hope the sniffles are gone and that the next estimates from the "tree guys" are reasonable. There are lots of "lads" around here to do tree work but I'm a worry-wart and insist on one who carries insurance.

After two very cold days, today is going up to close to 30ºF so I'll get out there shortly and shovel the deck steps for my poor old Jazz. He is extra cuddly when it's really cold and has trouble with the steps. Time for regular glucosamine.

By the way, I am NOT in my jammies. Ruthless told Ruthie "No coffee until you are dressed, Little Baby!"

Good morning,

I am wfh today but have lots of reports to get done since it is the first of the month that just adds to the load. I am still in my workout clothes, after the 8 a.m. call I will jump in the shower. Got another tree service coming by today to give estimate and I called one more to see. DD2 has art class tonight.

Jekel the scale did start going down today, I need to play around with amounts to see what will work to get things moving. Wow 2 hours and didn't get to the top of the line.

Ruth I want someone with insurance as well.

Debbie glad putting your feet up helped, enjoy your pool date

Have a great day everyone!

I'm home! I hope everyone is well! Vacation was delightful, warm and sunny weather, lots of relaxation and just hanging out and having fun. I even got to read a few books as well. I think I did okay weight wise, tomorrow I weigh myself on my home scale, but I sure didn't eat sbd. There are almost no veggies in the bvi's. Everything needs to be imported, nothing is fresh and local. So, I did the best I could.

I had my thyroid tested before I left, the dr really needs to start listening to me, I know when my numbers are off. Everyone keeps trying to tell me that not eating gluten, sugar, etc will fix my thyroid - my thyroid numbers are really high now which likely means increasing my medication. I find out Friday.

Amy glad you had a nice vacation. Hope everything goes well with your throid. My mom has hypothyroidism. Hope they can adjust your mess so you feel better.

Ruth if I made myself get out of my Jammie's before coffee I would cry lol....ok on work days I don't have a choice. The gun belt looks funny with pink pjs.

Pearlrose hope this estimate is more reasonable. I was shocked after Sandy how much it cost!!! Then again there was a huge demand.

Debbie I hope the pool was relaxing.

Beth hope you are out there and ok. Missing you but I know school is busy this time of year.

Another OP day and workout in. Now time for a quick shower before bed.

Good evening, chicks. I guess I didn't make it here yesterday. Somehow I came home late from school, did some exercise and then DH wanted to go out. I won't mention the food porn but I guess if you start the new month up a pound it's easier to end it down a bit???

My robotics kids stayed after today and dismantled this year's project. It's all neatly packed into storage bins for next year which means my after school load lightens a bit. (Not that I mind stay after with them; I had a nice bunch of kids this year.)

Ruth, I had to brush a couple inches off the car this morning and the roads were pretty greasy on my way to work! DH said he saw a car in the ditch on his commute.

Jennifer, I see we are posting at the same time. I suspect your days are ever busier than mine. Good job on moving that scale down!

Pearlrose, hope you are finding a good deal on your tree project. DH and I were talking about replacing some windows this spring. Can't wait to see that bill!

Amy, glad you enjoyed your trip! And when the food is out of your control you just do the best you can and go back OP when you get home.

Debbie, how was the pool?

Have a good evening, chicks.

Good morning! It's weigh in Thursday for me. I managed to lose 1.4 lbs on vacation, so I'm now down 18 overall. My goal was to lose 20 by the end of the month so I think I'll have that well in hand. I did phase 1 yesterday to cleanse myself and get back to it, and to make sure I could go back to it. I had thought to myself I'd do phase 1 until I lost the vacation weight, but looks like I can go back to phase 2.

It is not my favorite to go back to work after vacation. I know I need the breaks, but going back to work is the worst part about vacation.
