Weekly Chat - October 10th to 14th
Good morning from beautiful Delta on our Thanksgiving. I had my turkey dinner on Saturday and am hoping not to be invited out today. I wish people wouldn't think of me as a lonely widow! I have a wedding to go to at month end and really want to drop a pound or twenty! (Maybe four all day?)
Yesterday was a"hermit day". I showered and then put on my warm jammies and a cozy robe and just goofed off for the day. Have not done that for a very long time and it felt good.
Today will be more normal. I am off for coffee since the group goes on every Monday except Christmas and then will tackle some outside tasks. It's supposed to be a sunny and above normal temperature day.
Happy Monday, Beach Babes!

Happy Thanksgiving Ruth. It's nice to have so many people who care about you. A pleasant no thank you is fine to say. Good for you having a Jammie day. Enjoy your coffee group.
I was awake and then heard my old guy crying (a very strange cry). I thought this could be it! He managed to get his paw stuck in his harness and was stuck on the floor. Poor guy soiled himself. Today I plan to stay home to keep an eye on him. I know his time will eventually come (he will be 17 on the 15th), I just hope it is peaceful for his sake. He really has been a good boy all these years.
So today I will finally roast some spaghetti squash on the grill. I do need to get a good grocery list going as I feel the urge to fire up the crock pot for soups and chilis. My dear friend Ed is coming by later to pick up a day bed. I'm glad they have a use for it. I may, if I am really feeling motivated tackle 1/4 of the attic. The stairs and chimney kind of divide the space into 4 equal parts. I've been ignoring this project for years. Ugh
Yesterday was really nice. The restaurant was amazing!!! For the first time in my history of being with Joe, he actually couldn't finish his meal!!!! LOL Maybe he shouldn't of eaten two "breakfast specials" in the morning lol. We both enjoyed the play. I've never been to a production inside an office building before. We walked by it twice as there was absolutely no signage. The actress did a wonderful job, very talented performance!
Time for more sipping and then some work! Have a great day!

Good morning, chicks! We have a beautiful sunny morning but....the sun is making the frost sparkle! I covered my mum last night so they should be ok and the rest of the week's lows look safe. Sometime soon we will hit the point of diminishing returns.
Today I have off from school due to Columbus Day so I will do a few chores inside and be sure to get some outside time. DH and I will probably drive out to a local farm which is known for pumpkins and squash and stock up.
Ruth, enjoy the coffee. I second Jennifer's advice, you can always say "thanks but no thanks" if you don't want to go. Hope you get your outside time.
Jennifer, glad you enjoyed the play; sounds like a nice day. I'm glad Mick is ok; it's great you 2 have had such a long time together.
Guess I should fill my cup and get moving. Happy Monday!

Good morning,
Yesterday ended up not doing much but at least got a few loads of laundry done, vacuumed the carpet and also cleaned the inside of my car out and vacuumed it as well. Today I am starting wfh but I am going into work for a meeting in a couple of hours. DS is off since he works government job so I didn't need to car pool with him. I did swap out my clothes from summer to fall/winter clothes and got a bag full of clothes that don't fit me any more (it's a good thing- too big) but I did miss a pair of work pants that I pulled for today and yeah they should have gone in the bag, two sizes too big for me so need to change out before I leave for work.
Ruth glad you enjoyed Thanksgiving and also glad that people think about you.
Jekel glad you enjoyed the play
Beth enjoy your extra day off
Debbie hope the snow melted for you
Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning!
A belated Happy Thanksgiving to Ruth. I've missed a few days here.
I've been super busy getting the fence mended for the new pup, Kellie. She is so happy and is learning cues from us and our sign language. She is also learning to do what Kirby does. He is a good example.
I've been picking up and packing. I think we will go to Glenwood tonight. I leave work for Rolfing and we'll go after. Complicated, as we have to drag sh*t a block to pack the car. Oh, well. I have switched from a tote to a backpack which makes lugging it easier.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning,
WFH day for me, looks to be another beautiful fall day. Yesterday I took a tour of the children's hospital to talk to clinicians to see how we can better assist them and visited the nicu and it was packed me with babies so sad, that is the reason I could not work as a nurse my emotions couldn't handle it, my hats off to them.
Debbie glad to hear that Kelly is doing well, enjoy Glenwood.
Have a great day everyone!

Drat! Lost my post for the second time. Back to the mouse! Guess I'll catch up later - 9 a.m. meeting and not dressed.

Hey chicks! Just flying by before dinner. I have leftover turkey tonight from the bird we roasted this weekend. (we can pretend we were celebrating DH's Canadian heritage, right?) Busy day at work with a meeting afterwards but I made myself workout when I got home!
Debbie, glad the pup is doing well but what a pain the road construction is!
Pearlrose, I agree. I don't think I could be a nurse of any sort.
Ruth, hope you managed to get dressed before the meeting!
After dinner I have to run to the store; somehow my grocery trip got messed up this weekend.

Good morning, chicks! Happy Peak of the Week.
Regular work day on tap today, with my robotics group meeting after school. I have a plan for dinner; I am hoping I will have a few minutes to sneak in a quick workout when I get home.
Hope everyone's day only has little humps! I'll be back later but I've got to fly right now!

Good morning,
Today is wfh for me, I think I have somehow gotten pink eye, the only thing I can think of is that I held the railing while at the Children's hospital while climbing all of the stairs and may have touched my eyes before I had a chance to wash.... my allergy eye drops did not do the trick so that is why I am pretty sure I have it, have a call in to the doc's office. Worst part is not being able to wear my contacts until it's gone.
Beth sounds like you have a plan for today.
Have a great day everyone!

Whew! I just taped a piece of cardboard over the touch pad part of my laptop and am back to the old-fashioned mouse. Speaking of mice, it's now been five days since I caught one. Maybe the siege is over?
Did manage to get dressed for yesterday's meeting which was a waste of time - the meeting, not getting dressed. Did some sewing, cleaned the fridge in the afternoon and then went to Karen's for her birthday dinner. Indian food must be salty because I'm three pounds heavier today. Lots of water on today's menu.
Beth, we are in for another streak of summerlike weather but surely it'll end soon. I am definitely taking advantage of it and still have not switched completely into fall wardrobe stuff. Today I'll bite the bullet and just do it.
Debbie, so glad Kelly is fitting in well. It may be my imagination but I always feel rescued dogs are grateful. I know Disney, the Katrina rescue, was and Millie was very glad to be cuddled rather than kicked away after she bonded. Have you still got snow on the ground?
Rose, pink-eye is terrible. Hospitals are such a good place to get sick.
Off to crank up the Peak of the Week with a quick trip to the grocery store. I am trying to switch over to winter cooking and chili comes to mind. Enjoy your day, whatever you do.

Good morning,
Getting ready to head into the office, have to go to Columbia, Missouri (approx. 2 hours west of St. Louis) to visit our Hospital there. I have my eye drops from the doc so should no longer be contagious but stinks that I have to wear glasses (did I mention that I hate glasses, especially my thick coke bottle glasses lol). A bit chilly outside in the 40s so I am wearing a sweater right now.
What is on your agenda this evening?

Good morning, Rose and sleepyhead chicks. I seem to be checking in later and later although I am up around 5:30 these days. We have a cool and rainy day so I will probably just do homey stuff with the dogs today. Yesterday was busy although I did manage to cook for the freezer - a bean and cabbage plus sausage soup and an apple crisp. (My friend and neighbour Karen moves at the end of the month and I want to help her out with meals since my body has opted out on lifting and carrying. She isn't moving away, just to the other end of town.)
Yesterday I dug up the mandevilla (sp?) plants I put into the large planters at the Mill this summer. They are huge and I have two red and two pink. Not sure if they will survive until next spring indoors in pots but I'll give them a try because they were quite expensive. Research needed and I also need some large pots. That will mean a trip to town but not today.
The focus today is on shortening my flowing pants for the upcoming wedding. Then there will be something else off my "get it together" list. I still have some house plants on the front porch which I'll get indoors today since we have rain and cold coming. My wardrobe swap-out continues and the pile for the Thrift Shop is growing - maybe next week as I am taking a break from driving for a while.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and rewarding day.

Dinner time check in....vegetarian creamy Mexican casserole if anyone is interested lol....Pearlrose hope your pink eye passes quickly. I always wore my contacts too. No one realized I wore glasses until I had to stop wearing my contacts two weeks before lasix.
Ruth I really need to put on my reading glasses...I thought you wrote shorten my flowering pants. Geese I thought they were special pants to garden in. When is the wedding?
Beth could you work out for me this month? I don't know if it change of season but I am exhausted lately. In bed by 9 up at 5. Home from work around 4 and I can't seem to find the energy to do anything. I have my annual the end of the month. I may ask her to do a blood work up as its been years since I've had one.
Debbie so happy Kelly is doing well!!!
Nothing new or exciting here. Just busy working. At least my eating seems to be back to OP 95% of the time. I am a half of pound under goal. Hope to drop 2 by the end of the month. I need to make exercise a priority again. I am going to see if there is a yoga or Pilates type class on my way home from work. If I don't work out before I get home, I just don't seem to want to anymore. I go from uniform to PJs and back again as my new routine.....at least it cuts down on the laundry lol.
Have a great evening.

Baby, it's cold outside! I know because I took out the garbage at 6:30. It's also pretty chilly in the kitchen and back room so it's time to get the propane "woodstove" pilot re-lit. I have Book Club tonight and Joanne will come and light the thing for me. (She used to work for Jotul.)
Didn't mean to but spent another lazy day yesterday. This is a new habit it seems and I blame it on a friend who introduced me to online jig-saws! I did do some more cooking for the freezer and sorted out some family papers. Today has to be better, yet here it is 9 and I'm still in my jammies. (I did put out the trash by seven and empty the dishwasher so there's hope!)
Today will be the day I finally get my palazzo pants ready for hemming over the weekend and maybe will finish the last side of handsewing on the last quilt I have to return to Victoria's Quilts. "Seems like my get up and go has got up and went." But I am working on it.
Back later.
