"Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit" and welcome to September 1! (I just had to get up early this a.m. to be the first to say that.) I must admit I'm glad to see the back end of August and am ready for Fall The maple tree next door is already turning red so it's ready too!

Quick phone message last night from DD and her DH to say they are in Vancouver and are straightening out the arrangements for DD's Dad. They will be back in Nanaimo by tonight and will call and fill me in. I am somewhat relieved because I really did not want to fly out there and organize things. I've done that too many times for funerals. There will be lots of texts going back and forth this week!

We had a good day of visiting at the Mill but it was so strange to hear no sound as people toured - they came in groups of 20 throughout the day and it all went well. There was even a service dog who responded to hand signals! Most impressive. I swear he kept his eyes on his owner every second.

Foot care this morning at the clinic and then some running around but the rest of the day is all mine! It's slightly cooler so I may get the front porch swept and sit out there to sew or read for a change.

Whatever you do, enjoy this day.

Good morning Ruth and chicks to come. I too am ready for fall. For me it's fresh honey crisp apples and leaves changing to vibrant colors. Glad you did not have to go too.

I actually have time this morning to enjoy my smoothie with the dogs instead of in the car. I do not need to be in the city until 10. A group of us are meeting in Mt Vernon at 8, yeah I don't have to drive!!!

I think the cocktail of pills helped me sleep last night. Have a great day!

Good morning,

Another wfh day for me but I need to work on some reports so it will be nice to have a quiet house. Fitbit is working, DD2 got 10K steps yesterday and she asked this morning if we can workout together. So glad we are in September, I love Fall.

Ruth glad you did not have to fly out there, enjoy your foot care this morning if you can.

Jekel glad you were able to sleep today did the swelling go down?

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning!

I've managed to catch a cold. Not a good time for me. Oh, well. I've got lots to do and am just taking it slow and easy. I'm headed out to mow the lawn. I shut all the sprinklers off yesterday so it would dry up.

Ruth, glad you didn't have to travel.

Jennifer, hope you are getting better. What an ordeal.

Pearlrose, glad DD is finding an interest in the fitbit. Sometimes knowledge is empowering.

Beth, yay for new washer!

OK. I'm headed back outside....first a bit more coffee.

Have a great day everyone!

Evening, chicks.

Busy few days; ohhh the shock of going back to work. By this time next week I hope to be back in the groove but tonight I am just tired.

Ruth, glad DD is figuring things out and you didn't have to travel. It is hard parenting from afar.

Jennifer, hope the swelling is down and you had a good day.

Debbie, yuck to the cold!!

Pearlrose, it's impressive DD got in all those steps! I got a bit obsessive when I word my pedometer but I think it is good to check one's self.

We had a fall-like day today with fog this morning and cool temperatures. Of course, we are slated to get hot weather again next week. Funny how much the day light is decreasing.

Happy Thursday, chicks.

Yes, Beth, a cooler day has arrived. The daylight is certainly shrinking! I have to reset my internal clock since it's pitch black when I wake at 5 A.M. The dogs are ready for sleep just before 9 at night.

Jennifer, that sounds like a pretty bad sting! Have you considered getting an epi-pen? Those allergies are inclined to get worse and can be pretty serious.

Aw, Debbie, so sorry you got a cold. I'd tell you to take it easy but I know you are constantly on the go!

Pearlrose, hearing about your DD and Fitbit inspired me to dig mine out and charge it yesterday. I still find walking difficult but may try to work in a few strolls down for the mail now that the weather is cooler and the darned Mill will close in four more days - not that I'm counting.

Things are settling down out west and Mary Ellen is handling things well. She has good coping skills usually - I think the news of her Dad's death on Tuesday really was devastating. I will not be flying out west but am sure there will be lots of phone calls. Life goes on.

Good morning and Happy Friday,

DD2 is beating us all with steps, can't keep up with her now which is a good thing now to hope it continues past the newness. Today have to go pick up rental car we are going out of state for the day tomorrow going to Indiana to Holiday world amusement park never been to. Today have to go in for the 3:30 p.m. meeting and then DH and I are going to a concert Fifth Harmony. I originally go the tickets because DD2 wanted to go but her school dance is tonight and she wants to go that instead so I invited a coworker and his bf to come with us.

Ruth I like keeping track of how many or how little steps I did for the day. Though I wish my yoga would show but I just take that into account for those days

Beth I bet you are tired getting back into the swings of work

Debbie hope your cold is getting better and Jekel hope your swelling is down.

What is everyone's plans for the Holiday weekend?

All this talk of Fitbit makes me want to go for a walk after dinner :) It is breezy and very comfortable so what's stopping me lol

Thank you all, yes the swelling has subsided now if only the crusties will go away. Amazing what prednisone can do. Ruth I am not allergic, thankfully. I do have to be very proactive and get antihistamines (high dose in) to minimize the local reaction. This one was much more manageable except for the location lol.

I've committed to a 30 day squat challenge. I'm actually doing it at work. It's nice having my own office. I see a pair of free weights in my near future too lol.

Big lots is having a sale. I think I'm going to walk there as I need two, cheap, king size pillows for shams. They can count as very light weights while walking lol
