Morning everyone,
So this is my first day on the South Beach Diet. I've tried Atkins 2 years ago and it lasted a week. I'm hoping if I can make it past the first few weeks and I can have fruit again I won't be so bored. Any words of wisdom? I have a lot to lose and can already feel myself getting discouraged.

The most important things that I could suggest would be:
~ to read the book and refer to it often.
~be prepared in your food and snacks
~drink lots of water
~DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. Hang in there and you will find that it get's easier after the first few days.
~Don't forget to come here often for support and friendship
ok, so i made it through almost a whole day! I'm starving and have a headache, but I'm OK... time to make that ricotta creme thing for dessert before dinner. lol... I've also made a mental promise to myself not to weigh myself again until next monday, August 4th. I dont' want to be obsessing each day if I didn't lose as much as the day before. Thanks for all of the welcomes...
damn! i weighed myself... lost a pound and a half since this morning though! oh!! and i found out i could have peanut butter in phase 1!!! i am the happiest person alive...

Be sure to DRINK THE WATER! It helps with detoxing, headaches, hunger...everything! Several times when I felt crummy extra water really helped. Also, eat your snacks. (I really don't like headaches.) We need a water drinking smilie! Jann
