Weekend Beach Chat, May 3-4

Good Morning:sunny:

It seems there are lots of "plans" for the weekend. I'm going to work in the yard today and meet up with my friend for an assessment of my one rental which is yet to be finished. I've been procrastinating on that one for awhile. I head back to work tomorrow so I'd best enjoy today.

What's on your agenda?? Stop and say hi :cofdate:

And

Have a great Weekend everyone!

Ruthxxx 05-03-2014 06:34 AM

Good morning, Debbie, and thanks for starting us up. Sophie was wondering where you were.

The week from He77 is over and I have no plans for today except say Whew! One more interview Tuesday and then we decide on the last two positions. I will be so relieved when Tuesday afternoon arrives.

Lake Sheridan is back in the dogyard and I can see plants underwater already leafing out. Plants are pretty tough though - at least the ones that survive in my garden are! However the wetness will keep me from planting behind the barn - my raised bed looks like an ark. When (and IF) it stops raining, I'll slosh out there and get chard or spinach seeds planted.

Tomorrow I have a planning meeting for the dog testing we are doing on the 11th. It's in Brockville and I'm hoping to sneak in a quick trip to a garden centre. I'd better balance my chequebook first.

Have a grand weekend.

Good morning Debbie, glad to see you in here!

Ruth, I hope the days of rain are almost over for you. April showers bring May flowers, right? (that's what I keep telling myself....)

Not too many plans here. I do work this morning, then I'm hoping to get DD's drawers cleaned out this afternoon. Darned girl keeps growing. DH wanted to see a local high school production of Beauty and the Beast, some friends are helping to put it on.

I slept until 7 today! I've been so tired lately. It seems I can get up and walk at 6 am (I'm not even trying to run, it exhausts me by noon), but I'm so. stinkin'. tired by afternoon. This happened last summer too, which is why I stopped getting up early. What's a girl to do?

cottagebythesea 05-03-2014 07:44 AM

:coffee: Good morning Girls!

Debbie, make the most of your day today and enjoy!

Ruth, I hope you get some serious relaxing done today! I'd better balance my checkbook before I hit the plant nursery today, too, before I go too overboard.

Tammy, that's unusual to hear you slept in so late! You lead such an active life that I'm not surprised it's finally catching up with you. Have a good day, and try to rest up.

We have chance of showers today, but I'm going to make my rounds of a few of my favorite garden centers this morning to shop for annuals, and hope to spend the rest of the day getting them planted. If it does rain all day, I'll let Dad take me out to lunch since he was so disappointed we couldn't go yesterday.

Beth19 05-03-2014 08:02 AM

Morning, chicks! It's cloudy here as well with more rain in the forecast. I am SO ready for it to stop. We don't usually have water issues but on Thursday we had water in the basement and have spent the last 2 days watching the sump pump.

Today will be groceries and indoor niggles. I'd love to have DH grill tonight but he has this aversion to doing it in the rain. Maybe I will get to finish the book I started last weekend.

Ruth, glad your busy week is over.
Tammy, how are the new wheels working out?
Cottage, I think it is great you live so close to your Dad and are able to spend time with him. Have a great trip to the garden center.
Debbie, hope the rental doesn't need as much work as you think.

Have a great day chicks, even if it is rainy.:rain:

Good morning,

I slept in til 7:30 am. and it felt great, though I did wake up few times due to these darn allergies.

Today I am going to get some sanding the deck in, decluttering DD2 room (I am only doing her side DD1 can handle her portion) and then we have a barbeque to go to this afternoon.

Debbie I hope the rental does not require too much work
Ruth glad you get to relax today
Tammy glad you were able to sleep in
Cottage enjoy your day
Beth hope you get to read your book.

I think the sun is starting to come out and it is going to get up to 75 day so I am looking forward to that.

sophie 05-03-2014 09:39 AM

take care

Good morning.

I've spent a few hours on genealogy already today. I work this afternoon. Yesterday I had a crazy food binge :( I think it started with darn food samples at Sprouts. And I don't know why I ate the sweets there; I'd been totally not getting tempted by non-gluten-free crap but something just had my hand reaching under the plastic domes. Anyhow, I won't torture you all with what followed at home when I got into my husband's crap food that I usually manage to ignore. Ugh.

CyndiM 05-03-2014 08:10 PM

 Just a quick hello before falling into bed. We made a quick run to the coast birding yesterday then overnight at DDs,and finally the MG Walk today and lunch after. Now I need to sleep :)

jenne1017 05-03-2014 09:59 PM

hi all! forgot to check in before starting my day but went back on Ph1 today. And, dare I jinx it, found some willpower...so I am riding it!

Food shopping tomorrow morning and the gym as well. Then lots and lots of cooking for the week.

Happy Saturday!

jekel383 05-04-2014 06:26 AM

Good morning no rain in sight today....well not until late in the day...Up early to enjoy my coffee, smoothie and chick time :) Then off to ride. Later to Joe's. He marinated steaks and made babked beans, definitely not on any phase of SB. Been on P1 ish for 6 days (a sliver of cake twice and three chocolate pieces) and my weight is right where I want it to be. It is amazing how my body holds water. I have learned to accept daily fluctuations and seem to get back on track when the numbers go up. Another pound or two would be great before we leave, but believe me I am not complaining :)

I have not even begun to think about planting anything yet. First I need to clean up the beds a little more.

Happy gardening, relaxing and hopefully fun Sunday everyone :)

WaistingTime 05-04-2014 06:53 AM

I woke up entirely too early and could not fall back asleep. Maybe I can get a nap in today. I've got dinner with my book club tonight. I chose the restaurant; they have a yummy kale salad with salmon.

Today I'll run out and buy some business sized envelopes; I have all the paperwork I need finally to make my official application to obtain my father's original birth certificate. I am waiting to hear back from two cousins who I've never met, on on his (adopted family) side and one on my mom's, to fill in my tree more.

The weather is quite warm here for the next few days. Almost like we missed spring and headed into summer. I'll take it!

Have a great day.

Ruthxxx 05-04-2014 06:59 AM

Good Sunday morning and I hope we get some SUN in SUNday today.

I am off to town in a while to pick up some hardware store stuff and then meet with our Evaluator to go through paperwork for next Sunday's dog and handler testing. Too bad it's happening on Mother's Day. We tried to change the date but that's the only weekend that works for us both. I am hoping to get home early afternoon since I need to make a rum cake for tomorrow's quilting meeting.

One more student to interview on Tuesday morning but I have managed to get out of it. She is a cousin but a bit distant - my grandfather was her great-great-grandfather. I've "voluntold" a replacement. The problem is I could be accused of favouritism if she gets in and the whole family would be pissed off if she didn't get the job. Who needs it!

Jazz just kicked up a fuss! My friend Karen has a big Golden who is "self-walking" - he lives down the street and does early-morning visits. Brody has just eaten the kibble plus a bowl of chicken fat that I put out for the cats! He's a vacuum cleaner!

Time to hop into go-to-town clothes, check my list and push through the day - maybe work in a garden centre visit, weather permitting.

Hope you all have a fun and/or relaxing day. Try for both!

TwynnB 05-04-2014 07:12 AM

Good morning chicks!

Jennifer, that's not *too* off plan ;). Could be a lot worse, right?!

Karen - I hear ya on getting up early. I was pretty happy with 6:30 today. The stuff with your dad is pretty cool!

Ruth, good for you for getting out of that last one. Brody sounds like a chunky-monkey :D.

The Beauty and the Beast play was fantastic, and even my son enjoyed it! I woke up with a pinched nerve or something in my neck yesterday, and it is full force still today, time for more meds.

DH wants to go on a trip today...I'm thinking to visit some state parks, check out camping spots, and go fishing and/or hiking. I have to check the weather first, it looks a bit dreary, and you know how much it's rained lately!

Everyone else is still sleeping (even the dog...), so I'm going to do my menu and grocery list next....

Beth19 05-04-2014 07:32 AM

Good morning.
Everything is wet and dreary here again today. Will it every get warm? We are definitely a week or two behind in terms of leafing out and drying out. We need a week of dry before I can think about planting.

Today will be more indoor niggles. I got groceries yesterday and finished my book but probably should do a bit of cleaning today.

Cyndi, sounds like a busy but enjoyable trip.
Jenne, hope your will power stays!! I am convinced it gets harder to go back to Phase 1 the longer you are off.
Karen, good luck on the genealogy project. Sounds like a lot of work but very rewarding.
Ruth, have a good trip and let me know if you find any sun!
Tammy, school plays can be so enjoyable.
Jennifer, my after-Easter chocolate splurge was a bit bigger than yours...Have a great ride!

Ok, off to find coffee.:coffee2:
