SBD Researcher and Prepper Newbie!

Hey everyone!

As you can see I'm new on this part of 3FC. Over the past couple of weeks I've been working on cleaning up my diet/lifestyle, starting over, and revamping my entire life. It's a lot of work but this time feels different than the past. It almost feels easier and (dare I say it?) enjoyable. :)

I've been looking into finding a good program to get me into the proper way to eat. I live my life surrounded by soldiers who are able to eat poorly because they're constantly active. Of course, this means I've ended up with some pretty bad eating habits and now that I'm prepping for our first baby in the future, I need to kick myself into gear.

Anyway, long story short, I found the SBD through my research and although I'd heard about it before I never looked into it. Needless to say I'm intrigued and now I'm here looking through the tons of info and advice you guys have on all of it.

My question is: Do any of you have the cookbook? I love, love, love to cook and I was looking to order it when I finally order the SBD book to read. Is it worth it?

:welcome: to The Beach. (After reading your profile I realize I'd better not call you David!)

Regarding the SBD recipe books, I'd save my $$. We have many, many tried and tested recipes in the recipe section here and there are many more in Kaylyn's kitchen. I have the SBD cookbooks and seldom use them - and I love to cook!

Until you get the Book, check out the stickies in here for the Phase I and II Food lists and feel free to join the various threads. Do pop in to the Daily and sip a coffee and chat about parts of life that don't necessarily mean diet.

Once again, WELCOME.

Welcome, I agree with Ruth. Reading the book (any of them) was more valuable to me than the cookbook. I use Kayln's kitchen, Elana's pantry and the recipe posts to keep my meals from getting boring. I can definitely relate to your situation, I am surrounded by cops, diners, delis and vending machine eating helped to get me here. Now I pack all 3 meals with me and splurge on salads. Oh how times have changed. Good luck :)

Thanks for the welcomes! :)

Looks like I won't be getting the cookbook then, which will save me $$ lol. Luckily the regular book is only $7 so that I don't mind at all.

I'll definitely look through all of the recipe posts too for ideas. It sounds like SBD is actually a lot of fun! Thanks for the info!
