Here's the URL for the Colorado fires. I'm not sure where Debbie lives except she's close to the Continental Divide and hope she's not affected. I need a map with pins on it to show our Beachers' locations!

Survived the Mill AGM and will be "allowed" to continue as Treasurer for another year. The Board of eleven is slightly changed as one member has resigned (no loss) and my friend Doug has been elected to replace her. So happy about this as Doug is a former IBM executive with excellent people skills and financial smarts.

Not sure what the weatherperson is doing but the sun is shining through the trees on the east side of the house right now and it's lovely out there. I see that showers are predicted through to Saturday though with an inch of rain predicted. Enough already! The ground is saturated and we have puddles in the fields. I guess there won't be much complaining about the hay crop being poor this year!

Time to tackle the day but I'm going to sit on the wet deck for a while with the dogs and hope that my fence repair gets done soon.

Woo Hoo is going to be running through my brain all day! "Take the Money and Run" is classic rock from way back in the late 70s. When you get to my age, your head gets infested with ear worms!

Happy Hump Day!

Good morning It's hump day and it might not rain all day. I can't believe how high the river still is, definitely too high for swimming. Of course it's too cold for anything but pants and long sleeves anyway, so that's not a big issue. What a weird year!

I've picked up some new turf and am heading up that way today. Should be a lovely drive along the big river. I wouldn't want to do it in the winter but don't mind it this time of year and the expense checks are always a nice plus.

Hope your day is smooth and bumpless. Personally I'm hoping for a bonfire and a glass of wine at the end of this one.

Good morning chicks! Ruth, I understand the ear worm thing. I hear one word and it makes me start singing a song half the day. Hopefully I'm not *too* off key when I do it! I hope they finish up your fence soon.

Jekel - happy Friday to you! (I'm soooo jealous.)

Yesterday was fun and crazy. Took my kids to a flea market and then on a walk, and I swear since I only worked 5 hours ~ they tried to jam all 10 hours into it!! It was insane, and gratefully my friend watching my kids watched them until 8 pm. I owe her!

Unfortunately I learned again if I don't get my exercise in before work, I dont' get it at all....so up I was again this AM. There were a lot of people out!! I normally don't feel as good on phase I with a run, but it went okay. (until I realized I was going too far for my time allotment...so DH could go to work, then had to book it!)

Hope y'all have a great day!

Stay safe, Debbie!

It's a gorgeous morning here with a delicious breeze, just perfect for opening all the windows and watching the curtains dance. Tomorrow we're supposed to get bombarded with severe storms again, so I'll make the most of today, WHOO HOO!

I'm spending the day with Susie until it's time to pick up Maggie from school, then I'm taking her to a church where a girl who Maggie did an essay on is giving a talk. We're both looking forward to meeting her.

Enjoy Wednesday, Chickies!

Good Morning

The wildfires aren't near us...thanks for the link, Ruth. We are having record high temps and high winds, though, so it seems we are destined for another pretty tragic fire year.

I'm up early getting everything watered. We are going to blast over for a few days poolside then I'll be back to work early Saturday. Kirk is going to stay over this time and tend the yard there. Our latest development is that Kirk's DD apparently needs a new engine in her car....and of course, has no money. This is the vehicle they were going to drive to Minnesota in 5 weeks for their wedding...I'm going to visit our auto repair guy before heading over to get his opinion. Oh, well. The good news is that as I continue to move from one challenging situation to the next I seem to be getting more comfortable refraining from emotional eating.

Jennifer, happy Friday and thanks for getting us started!

Ruth, thanks for the earworm and congrats on your "reelection"

Cyndi, I hope your evening turns out as planned.

Twynn, I'm with ya on early exercise...it just doesn't happen later. I hope your "today" is a bit easier!

Linda, your day sounds fun....enjoy it before the weather sets back in.

Ok, back to business!

Good morning.

Our microwave died a silent death. We think it will cost almost as much to fix as to replace. Very frustrating since it is only 2 years old. Been researching online this morning. We are very dependent on that thing and really need a new one before hosting a dinner party next week. Sigh.

I got to Susie's this morning, only to turn around and come back home until around 3, when I'm going back to spend the night with her. Her caregiver had already planned to be away this weekend, so we're all taking turns filling in the gaps, and I don't mind at all.

The day is just gorgeous, and Jake and I have been pruning trees and cutting the branches into logs. I don't know what we're going to do with all the wood, but I'm sure somebody will want it.

Evening all.

Beautiful sun here today, FINALLY. I was able to get out in the garden for a short bit when I got home from work but then had to stop playing and make dinner.

Congrats to Ruth, yeah for Cyndi's new drive, glad to hear you are safe Debbie. My hat is off to Twynn for having the motivation to do early exercise!

Hope all the other chicks had a great day!

Is skim milk still allowed in phase one? Just started back on the beach yesterday and it has changed since I last did it I think
