Default Back again, this time it's serious!

Last time I was here was over 2 years ago, and of course I've gained back all the weight I lost at that time. This time it's different. We just adopted our amazing 3 year old daughter, and she has already had too much loss in her short life. She suffered the loss of her birth family due to neglect, the loss of her foster family she lived with for over a year because they could/would not adopt her, and I'll be darned if she is going to lose us before our time!

So I'm on a serious 3 month+ plan to get this weight off once and for all. Started P1 Monday and I'm already down 6 lbs. Doing 30 min elliptical daily and strength training. My goal is a minimum of 30lbs down by my 36th birthday, which is mid-September. If I'm honest, I'd like it to be closer to 50 but I realize that's an incredibly lofty goal, but I figure I'll shoot for the moon and if I fall, I'm still among the stars! Hubby is in board, maybe not as hard-core as I am but he's on board and has lost 3 so far this week. We're doing it for our girl, and she is so worth it!!!

Hello Nurse! Haha. Your name makes an easy greeting.

That is so great to hear about your adoption. You sure are contributing more to that child's life than you will ever really know, and you know a lot! But listen, I am so glad to see you back. I just got here! Haha!

I know you want to be around to be with that little girl as long as possible. Getting healthy is definitely the best way to go about it.

You see, it never too late to change things. Even if you have a million times and it never sticks. Don't give up.

Welcome! One of the best things you can do for your children is to do everything in your power to maintain your own health. Bravo for you!
