My condolences on the spinach bolting, Linda. It really is a cold weather crop. Maybe plant more in August?

Natasha and Jennifer, I tried a squat last week and managed to fall over. Between the wonky knees and weight, I guess they are not for me. I'm an exercise klutz - managed to fall off a Nordic Track once.

Survived a very emotional service at Church yesterday without puddling up completely. I am actually glad it's now over. "Closure" is certainly the right word in this case.

It poured rain all night and is still pelting down, much to the disgust of my Katrina rescue who hates getting wet. She is grumbling a lot about it. We've been dry and hot up until now but the gardens are well-soaked this morning. I have big puddles in my lane. Looks like today will be an "in home" day rather than a garden puttering day. (I noticed that Cathy my neighbour bought plants and finished the Village barrels yesterday, PTL!)

Quilting biddies meet tomorrow so I must do the financial report. I hope to get in to see my dentist too as my darned tooth is still giving me grief. (I don't know why I assume problems will go away if you just ignore them although sometimes that does work!)

Aside from that quickie report, the day is all mine. A friend lugged my big boxes off the front porch so I may do more clean-up and sit out there with my backlog of New Yorkers later today. I am determined to schedule "me time" this month.

Enjoy the day, whatever it brings.

Ruth, I'm in the deluge this morning as well. At least I got quite a bit done in the garden yesterday while the sun was shining. So today I will grocery shop, do some inside chores and maybe finish my book. DH got me a kindle for Christmas and I have read more in the last 5 months than the last 5 years! It is so convenient.

Going to refill my cup, sort the laundry and make the grocery list.

Have a great Sunday, all!

Happy Sunday, Debbie! I had so much fun last night! I went shopping for professional-looking clothes! I also had fun at a birthday party! I sung at karaoke! It was a great day, all around. I ate Salmon and broccoli, at the party! It was scrumptious! Ttyl!

Evening ladies! Sorry I've been absent. I've just been...mentally over it. I started this journey again June 9 of last year, and as you can tell, I'm coming up on the one year mark. I'm just tired of the whole thing, you know? With my hormones and thyroid, losing weight has been much harder than I anticipated (I expected to be within a few pounds of goal by now, instead of not even halfway there) and I need a break.

I feel like I'm fighting between eating things I enjoy and crave and taste good, but feeling groggy and tired and sleeping a lot, or eating things I don't really get excited about and having a little bit more energy. So far, eating what I like is winning

Maybe if I get back into it again, really into it, SB will click.

Any suggestions to get past the "I'm over this crap" hurdle?

Aww, that's very sweet of you to say. I have to admit that I was PETRIFIED at the thought of 250 squats, but as time goes on you get used to it. I will admit, though, that I failed miserably at the leg lifts yesterday. I think I'm going to have to adjust my goal there.

Oh no, Ruth! I'd think squats wouldn't be the best for someone w/ "wonky knees." My knees are okay but not the greatest and there were days I had to take some ibuprofen after all those squats.

Eyes on the prize...that's the best advice I can give you. ;)
