TGIF Beach Chat for 11/9

  • Good morning, ladies!!! Thanks for your words of encouragement. It's definitely different for me b/c he's in Massachusetts and I'm here in Georgia, so we're getting to know each other over a distance for now. Plus, I don't want kids at all and he has 3 kids. Not that I'm opposed to dating a man w/ kids...just never really expected it. Anyway, he treats me well and we get along great, so we'll see where it goes. I think he's worried right now that I'm not going to end up moving to Massachusetts and, obviously, that would be a dealbreaker for him.

What's everybody got planned for tonight??? It's been a stressful 2 nights at work b/c we've been understaffed, but tonight I'm going out to a movie and coffee w/ a good girlfriend who just needs a little break. But first, I'm going to get off work at 0530 hrs and wait for my daily early-morning phone call, tee hee.

    Have a good day, ladies!!!
  • Good morning, Natasha. I can't think of anything I'd like better than a 5:30 a.m. phone call from a new gentleman friend. Enjoy your new relationship.

"Slept in" until 6 this morning. I thought the time change was supposed to screw me up the other way but ... I may have to go back to setting the alarm if I keep on sleeping later and later. With our recent cold nights, I may actually be freezing and not wakening until I thaw ... just kidding, of course, but it went down to 22ºF overnight. That's a winter temperature so don't try to convince me that winter doesn't start until Dec. 21.

Off to the doc this morning for some miracle shots in my sore knee. Sure hope it works - and fast as I plan to do more sorting in the barn today and tomorrow. I did get to Michaels when in town yesterday and bought some Christmas prep stuff. This may be the year when I get all my gift goodies made since I have baskets and cellophane ready to roll. I'll spare you the details of what I make unless we get a Food Porn Thread.

So on we go with Friday and see what it brings. I always have a day semi-planned but sometimes get surprises. If you get surprises, I hope they are good ones.

( with a bit of cocoa powder was my surprise this morning. I hope that's not IT!)
  • Good Friday morning! Well, I'm not sure the exact start date, but I've had 4 Weight Watcher weigh ins since starting, and I'm down 4 lb. I really thought it would be more, but I feel good, my pants/jeans are getting too baggy on me. So, with that said, I'm happy. At my age, I suppose it IS going to take longer. I know I'm doing the right thing for my body, I have a new trainer at the gym, and I feel better!! Slow and steady!!

gotta get ready for work. When I say TGIF, I really MEAN TGIF!!! I need this weekend. Work is crazy. Makes ME crazy!! Have a great one, everyone!
  • I'm trying a different brand of coffee and it's definitely not up to par. I like a good strong brew or it's just not coffee to me. Not that I'm complaining, though, because it's Friday, and nothing is going to ruin that.

Natasha, I hope your new relationship works out well, and it will, if it's meant to be. Enjoy your movie date with your friend tonight!

I have my monthly hair appointment first thing, and I'll grab a coffee at Wawa on the way (and get one for Melinda, too), then a quick shop at Walmart, some banking, and then a dreaded trip to the Verizon store for them to explain my new phone bill to me. We've had so much trouble with them in the last month and thought everything was straightened out, and now this. I hope that finally sitting down with a REAL PERSON finally gets this mess straightened out. GRrrrrrrr!

    So, how's your day looking?
  • Good morning.

I'm off to get blood drawn early. I went yesterday after my biopsy and both the phlebotomist, who had never heard of the tests I was having, and I were surprised to find out I needed to fast. Funny how hungry I am this morning knowing I can't eat! I work this evening and tomorrow afternoon so it's not really the weekend for me. Yet.

    Have a great one.
  • Good morning chicks!

Yay for you, Natasha I think a big question would be is, how old are his kids, and is he on good terms with their mom?!? Hope you had a great phone call this am .

Ruth, you'd get a kick out of my tech at work...she has an absolute paranoia about freezing to death at night...so bad she'd set the alarm several times a night to go check the heat, etc. This year, she finally went to the doctor to get some anxiety drugs when it gets cold. At least she can laugh at herself now!!

    Yeah for you, Quilter!

For me - working a bit extra today, with the boss away. Hopefully it will be done quick. I rented the last Harry Potter movie from the library, since we never saw it, so we'll watch that tonight!

    Ooopss...good morning, Karen and Linda!
  • Karen, that's the way it is - we're always hungry when we have to fast, Good luck with your tests, and I hope they finally get to the bottom of what's been bothering you.

Good morning, Ruth and Quilter4life! and Tammy!
  • Good morning all...I cannot say this enough TGIF!!! After 10 long days I am shot. Not setting an alarm clock tomorrow is soooo appealing. Tonight I will vacuum the doggie dust bowls, pack an overnight bag and maybe a little laundry. Tomorrow I am going to enjoy my morning smoothie and coffee, go for a long indoor bike ride, finally blow dry my hair (it takes a longtime lol). In the afternoon drive up to Joe's. Then to Albany with him and his son, Joseph, to see Rachel's new dorm room. Followed by dinner and a little shopping for Rachel. Sunday I have been invited to go shooting with Joe and the boys. They need to sight in their rifles for hunting season. I don't want to show them up with my marksman abilities (lol) so I told Joe I would take care of a few things for him. I'll probably be home for dinner and much needed quality time with my pups.

My son, Joey, three Joe's gets confusing, is off from school Monday so I claimed him for the day. He wants to look at cars. He is not in a position yet to buy one, but I'll humor him just to spend time together.

I need to get another estimate for the tree removal hopefully this week. I did not accept any overtime so I do not return to work until Thursday. I plan on getting a few outdoor rides in and hopefully a date night with Joe.

Natasha, enjoy this time with your new honey. My friend Meredith is in similar situation. She does not want any children, yet she is dating a man with a 13 and a 8 year old. She has yet to meet them (long, long, long, long story), but when the time is right she will. My son is accepting of Joe, not so much my ex's GF, but I think he says negative things so my feelings are spared. My ex is engaged and she and her daughter practically live with them. Granted I feel extremely left out if my son's life these days and struggle with feelings of being replaced. I hope things change soon, but it doesn't look promising. Joe feels badly when he shares his kid's accomplishments or touching moments with me because of my situation. I reassure him I am OK, but it does hurt. I am glad he has a really good relationship with them. Well before I start getting emotional at work I better stop here.

    OK have a great Friday
  • Good Morning

Wow lots of chatter already this morning. I took the opportunity to sleep in since we have to travel later today. I need to get going now...get my bike of the car rack and do some clean up/packing so I don't have to do it later.

    Enjoy your day everyone!
  • Good morning We finally have a sunny beach day! It's very cold but the sun is out and the winds are more normal. Getting ready for a long walk on the beach

Natasha - watch out for the new relationship 10 lbs
