Default New and need a kick in the pants

Hello everyone. I'm hoping that joining your group will help hold me accountable. That seems to be the missing piece for me. Somehow I convinced myself that food eaten in private doesn't count.
A little background. I have been the chubby one all of my life. I tried them all and never was successful until 2004 when I found South Beach. It truly was my savior, a diet made for me. I loved the food, and it worked! I lost about 40 pounds and was able to keep most of it it off until I quit smoking last July. I am literally out of control now. I put back the 40 pounds, between not smoking, tearing the ligaments in my foot, and probably age.

So, with your help, I plan to get back on track. Tomorrow is day 1. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Maxx!!! This place has been a huge part of my weight loss, and I know many others feel the same. A big help is the daily forum - Post daily and you're less likely to fall off the wagon. Best of luck to you!

Hi Maxx Inam new too. Started SB last Tuesday after finally admitting to a dear friend my binge eating at night. I've been gaining and losing the same 30 pounds for the majority of my adult life.

I realize that I am my own worst enemy and harshest critic. This time I decided I needed to do a complete food makeover. SB just makes sense to me. I downloaded the SB app and have been trying the recipes.

Tuesday will mark my first week of Phase I and I am actually looking forward to weighing myself.

Be proud of yourself. You know SB works and have lived it!! Quitting smoking is fantastic!! Congratulations you are well on your way to a longer, healthier life!

Welcome to both of you. I just joined a couple of days ago, myself. The SBD recipes are amazing.
Tonight we went out to dinner for the first time since I started back on Southbeach. So proud of myself. Mexican restaurant....ordered 1/2 of a rotisserie chicken, ate half of that, black beans and huge salad. Drank water and stayed away from the frozen margarita and the chips and salsa. If I can do that, I must be seriously ready to lose the extra lbs for sure.

My friend and I were going to go out for Mexican, but I told him I wasn't ready yet. That is great Janis, very smart choices! Thank you for all the kind welcome. I am getting a little bored with eggs in the morning. Since Inam still on Phase I my choices are limited. Does anyone have any good quick ideas for breakfast? Thanks

Check out the thread, "Breakfast Alternatives to Eggs", that is stickied in our FAQ section for some great suggestions.
