Cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory?

So tonight we went to Cheesecake Factory. (No bread for the record, so I am pretty proud of myself--love the brown bread there. I digress.) On the menu is a cheesecake labeled "Low Carb". It is cheesecake sweetened with Splenda. It is completely sugar free. Without fruit or whipped cream, would you consider it Phase One acceptable. (The crust is made with walnuts.) If not Phase One, maybe Phase Two. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

I would be VERY leery of the "Low Carb" cheesecake. I was at CF a couple of months ago with a friend who eats Gluten Free and the waitress told her that none of the cheesecakes were gluten free anymore, including the flour-less Godiva chocolate cheesecake b/c they had changed the crust and topping recipe.

I would think that there is some type of starch or flour in there that would make it off-plan. There are lots of great recipes around that are on plan, of course that is not a decadent as enjoying a slab of cheesecake at CF!

I just found this on "Low Carb" board regarding the low carb cheesecake @ CF:

"INGREDIENTS: Cream Cheese (Pasteurized Milk and Cream, Cream Culture, Salt, Xanthan and/or Carob Bean and/or Guar Gums), Eggs, Erythritol, Walnuts, Polydextrose, Low Carb Crumb (Polydextrose, Cornstarch, Palm Oil, Eggs, Soy Protein Concentrate, Enriched Wheat Flour, Vital Wheat Gluten, Maltitol, Natural Flavor, Baking Powder [Baking Soda, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Cornstarch], Salt, Sucralose), Sour Cream (Cultured Cream, Nonfat Milk, Vegetable Enzyme), Butter, Splenda (sucralose), Vanillin (Artificial Flavor), Vegetable Gum"

You can see from the ingredient list, that they include Maltitol, a sugar alcohol, in their ingredients. For some reason, they don't include the sugar alcohols in their 6 carb count, which makes it an innacurate count. In many people, maltitol causes "gastric distress", and can also trigger an insulin response that mimics regular white sugar. "

Unfortunately it is not on plan. :(

Yikes. Thanks so much!!!
I know the good recipes here, I was just thinking that for time's sake and for convenience in general if it were a go, that would be a great occasional treat.

And if that list of chemicals wasn't enough it is 600 calories and 26 grams of saturated fat PER SLICE. I know we don't count calories/fat on SB but wow...that's about 6 desserts worth!

I was gonna say, that list of ingredients is scary!! I think I'll stick with my homemade cream cheese concoctions!

Kudos to you for not eating the brown bread; that stuff is so yummy!

Thanks, WaistingTime! It was one of the few things where I felt a twinge of temptation. However, I'm so pleased that I bypassed it. Thanks for noticing.:)
