  • Gosh I was doing so well. Then over the weekend I had chinese food, fried chicken, birthday cake and Mon & Tues halloween candy.
Went back to the drawing board of phase 1 today and while I'm definitely not hungry my cravings are off the charts. I really am finding myself wanting sweets. Ugh what gets you guys over the gotta have something sweet hump? Jello? HELP!!!!
  • Yogurt with crystal light in it!

I walked into the store today to pick up my scripts and they sold my favorite bag of chips - they are newish and hard to find.

I walked out without any but it's all I am thinking about now.
  • Jenne! OMG crazy that you said that. I just read that on hungry girl and actually went out and got some plain greek yogurt to mix with my crystal light (the naturals the other kind gives me a crazy headache and I love that raspberry lemonade!!!). I was trying to save it for after dinner might not make it.
You always have so much willpower! Way to go leaving those chips in the store.
  • I like SB treats to savor like the Mocha Ricotta Creme. Very rich & sinful tasting. On Phase II I love a square of 90% dark chocolate topped with PB or almond butter. Very satisfying!
  • I've really tried to love the ricotta cremes but I don't, something about the consistency of the ricotta just doesn't sit well with me. I'm at this moment making a batch of black bean brownies and hoping I love them. I've mixed regular brownie mix with pureed black beans and those were great! But this recipe is just black beand, eggs, vanilla, cocoa powder, evoo and splenda. It looks like brownie batter, I tasted a bit and it was still kinda beany so I'll see.
  • black bean brownies aren't as good as the pinto bean ones, IMHO.

I swear I didn't read hungry girl before posting that! I don't go to her site b/c there's too much sugar and carbs there!!!!

NSA fudgescicle? Even if you have two and indulge, it's not that bad!

How about a peanut butter cup (SBD style)?
  • what about replacing the ricotta with Greek yogurt in those recipes? I love anything that reminds me of pudding so adding sf syrup or PB, cocoa and xylitol (my preferred non-sugar, non-caloric sweetener) usually gets me through. Of course I had a wicked pudding habit back in the day (from a local farm, ridiculously rich).

What's the sweetener in the natural crystal light? I don't use aspartame but I will use erythrytol or xylitol
  • I made the bean brownies just the other day, I added ground up oats and agave syrup and a banna, they were good and are now stored in the freezer for When Needed, I add a little yogurt on top w/walnuts and it is good.

I can not do fake sugars.
  • Ok, the black bean brownies weren't good to me at all! DH likes them, but he likes anything.
Jenne you're right about hungry girl everything is carby. I may try the pinto bean brownies.
Cyndi I ran off to grab the box of crystal light Naturals, Guess what the 1st ingredient is? SUGAR!!! Sweetened with sugar and truvia. All in all it has 3g worth of sugar per serving.
That does sound like a good idea to replace the ricotta with greek yogurt. I may try that & the pb cup is wayyyy too addicting to me!
I ended up "roasting" (in the microwave) almonds and tossing them in a truvia and cinnamon. Yummy.
  • Mmmm thank god someone said you can switch the ricotta up for the greek yogurt..cause ricotta is too "cheesy"? tasting?
  • In my world recipes are just guidelines or suggestions. That's how I roll in my kitchen (which does drive everyone who asks for recipes crazy and leads to some amusing messes)
  • I wasn't a fan of ricotta cremes either - but then again, I don't care for pudding!
  • IMHO, The only place ricotta belongs is in a calzone or lasagna.

Thank goodness for WW pasta & WW pizza dough!!!!
  • the natural pb with the sugar free fudgesicle has helped me but that is because the sweet I usually crave is a pb/choco combo so that has worked for me! Also splenda in my coffee is tasting SUPER sweet to me now LOL!
  • Finally! someone who agrees that ricotta is for lasagna! i was beginning to think i was the only one who thought it was a dinner thing.
