How can it be...

That even though I've been on somewhat of a plateau for a few months, my body continues to change (even shrink)?

I know in the past some of you have said sometimes its best to go by measurements, not by lbs for proof of weight loss.

But doesn't science dictate one should eventually follow the other? It's so odd!

What are your experiences with it? I've lost maybe 2-3 lbs in the last 2-3 months. Horrid plateau, yet still OP. However, I can still tell great changes continue to happen to my body. I haven't started a new exercise plan or anything.

What gives?

I call it a body re-org. Enjoy!

Yes, it's totally possible. I went through a plateau phase where I lose very little on the scale but I was losing inches like crazy. It's a bit crazy-making but it's hard to complain about inches lost. ;)

Congrats! Enjoy your progress you've earned it. Just goes to show the scale isn't the only thing we should be looking at.

I'd like to know the same thing. The mirror, my clothes, and the people around me tell me I'm still shrinking. The scale tells me otherwise. Let's just go with it! Better than gaining and growing! :)

Hear hear!! Thanks ladies! And of course, no complaints :)

I've recently had the opposite happen too. After not eating well or exercising for a couple months, I only gained about 3 pounds back. However, I was clearly much bigger and flabby. My pants were/are tight, my stomach is hanging out, and my butt/hips have lost all muscle tone and look larger. So, while it is possible to replace muscle with fat and see only a 3 lb difference on the scale (as I have done), it is also clearly possible to replace fat with muscle and only lose a little weight. I couldn't believe I had only gained 3-4 pounds, because I clearly looked and felt like I had gained much more, like the scale was lying. So, I'm going by my pants now.
