I must be nuts!
I knew cashews were a weakness for me. I knew it. So what did I do this morning? I bought a bag of cashews. It's 2 oz. so I'll only have 1 oz. right? NO!
They're sitting in my desk drawer, calling my name. I keep wanting to pick it up and eat just one more, one more, one more. Now I'm going to have to feel wasteful and throw them out because I obviously can't handle having them around. They've already been banned from the house! Oh well, better in the trash than on my rump. :p |
My friend uses an expression which I find helpful about foods that call my name (over and over!) - she states that she's "allergic" to them. That helps her keep them out of the house and out of her grocery cart.
Of course, I still think about my favorite foods at times and hope that someday I'll be able to have them again. I guess that's the thing I like about SB, the trial and error, see what's working and what's not. It really starts with the awareness. And with practice on our good days, it gets easier. And someday I'll know whether or not my favorite cheats can be portioned or if I should consider myself "allergic"! :p And, yes, excess food is better in the trash than on our bodies! |
Yeah, I've had to cut out almonds because I am binging on those suckers!
|
I have thrown out a lot of foods that I just could not keep from overeating. I have not had a jar of peanut butter in the house for over a year now!

Cashews are my weakness too!!
|
I'm fine with peanuts and peanut butter thank goodness. My family would probably cry if I said we couldn't have it. My four year old definitely would!
I'll have to try pistachios. They take longer to eat and may not be as irresistable to me. :) Even allowed foods can definitely be problematic! |
