Lexxiss just pointed out my NSV. I altered a favourite outfit - pants and sleeveless top - by getting rid of four inches of fabric. I felt great to not have all that extra flapping around!
|
:woohoo: Ruth! 4 inches of fabric is a huge NSV!

Ruth - amazing :carrot:
I have to go find a suit tonight. Wish me luck! Hope I will be back with a NSV! |
Yay I finally get to post here! To be honest, mine is a little embarrassing, but oh well.
Yesterday evening my days' plans got changed and due to a lack of appropriate planning when I realized this change, I end up in the car, driving home at 9:45 PM, and I hadn't had dinner. I'd had a snack at about 2/2:30 and normally have dinner somewhere in 6:30 to 8 range. I'm hungry, I'm tired, its that TOM, and I know we don't have a lot of options at home. I call Dear Fiancee and he recommends that I pick up food (reading between the lines: he was afraid of hungry fiancee monster of doom). So I swing through Wendys drive through. My tired, hungry, TOM brain somehow convinces itself that a breaded chicken sandwich meal is on plan food. Really. I believe this for the 30 seconds it takes to order. Of course, as I pull forward in the line, I start to have a more honest internal dialogue. The chili I ordered as my side is probably passable, and the Diet Coke will be okay, but there is no way that breaded chicken sandwich on white bread bun is acceptable. I get to the window, thinking I'll ask to change my order to a salad, but the sandwich is made and I chicken out. They even give me a free small fries because the line was so long. I'm driving home and grab a handful of the fries. They are delicious. And I regret them instantly. Then a phrase creeps into my brain that I read here on this forum... "I've never regretted NOT eating something" And, I thought of the accountability thread that TwynnB and I are doing this week. And I resolved to not eat that sandwich. When I got home I threw the fries in the trash can. I had the chili, and a small prepackaged salad I found in the fridge. Sandwich went in the fridge for my fiancee to eat later. I'm still in quasi-shock that I was able to not eat it once I had bought it. The saying is true. I don't regret not eating it. |
Congrats on not eating the sandwich! I'm afraid if I smelled it I couldn't resist!
My NSV is along the same lines. Last night I had a SF Jello cup and was fine but I found my self miraculously standing in front of the freezer (I still don't remember how I got there! :D ) with my hand in the box of fudgesicles. They were on plan as sugar free but I didn't need it. I withdrew my hand and left it for my husband and went on about my business. |
I just love this thread. It just drives everything home. Thanks for sharing!!

We're headed out to a picnic with lots of people. I was running short on time and needed to change. I was still in my casual/comfy pants and tee shirt I wore to the pool this morning.
I looked in the mirror...decided I didn't need to change. I looked fine just as I am. That's a major step for me from the "what will make me look thinner" days and pre event panic I used to go through. |
