New Member on Phase I
P1D1
Good Morning! I did SB a few years ago, and now I am back. This time, no cheat day. Its not worth it. I went 8 months and set a cheat day and it was in October, and I never got back on. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Some people are very determined and can cheat and get back on, and I take it to the max and can't seem to find my way back. But its okay, compared to how I feel in control, I am ready to really embrace this as a life choice. I have about 150 pounds to lose, this time, compared to 80 before, and yes, its OVERWHELMING< but I am taking it one day at a time. Today is a GREAT day!!! I am going to try and get support like these forums, this time, too! |
Welcome to The Beach. I moved your post out of the menu thread.
Be sure to read the Stickies above, especially the Phase I Food List as there have been some changes in the food list. |

Welcome! I have done SB several times myself and I can tell you that joining in here makes a huge difference. The support and wisdom and friendship and humor... this is an amazing place to hang out.

Welcome, and good luck. I've done SBD before but I think this forum has been a key to success this time!

Welcome. I am just P1D13. Remember to hang in there on those tough days. It's worth it!
I'm down 3 and my husband is down 8!!! |
Welcome back! I too have done South Beach many times. If I would just stick to eating healthy, I would be thin by now. Lots of support here. Couldn't do it without 3FC.

Hi there!!!
I am new both to the forum and to the diet. I am starting on Phase 2, because I am pregnant, but believe me, it is hard for me too to let go of chocolate and ice - cream! I have never been on a diet before, since I was always skinny, but I was always controlling what and how I ate. Trust me, each time I planned a cheat day, it always ended up a binge. I guess it is better to stick to your plan for a couple of months and then allow yourself not a cheat day, but a specific cheat meal or snack on a specific day. I am sure you will do great! Good luck! |
Welcome!
This is a great place for support, feedback, and menu ideas! It really helps me to check in here at the beginning of my day to keep me motivated to stick with it! |

Hi Kellahhh,
I am a new member and starting phase 1 today! Our stories are so similar I did SBD a couple years ago and lost about 22 pounds and thought I could cheat with sweets and well totally fell off the bandwagon and never restarted. I am at a point in my life where enough is enough and I am ready to lose the weight for good and keep it off for life!!! |

WOW, Thanks everyone! You guys are so sweet, and I am so glad I signed up here. I always get this rush of energy the first few days of SBD, and so I can't sleep right now. I know, I am like the exact opposite of those that get the SBD flu. I have had that but only one time, and it was because I did not eat well, I went high protein, like Atkins. Its amazing if you do the 5 cups of veggies a day, and 2 snacks, how good you feel!! Not 8 steaks and sauteed peppers! Ha it sounds funny writing that, now, and seeing it on the screen, but that was my idea of SBD one of my many tries! I am so EXCITED about SBD this time, and thank you for being so kind!
