Back in a flash...coffee calls!

Happy last day of June! It's hard to believe July is right over the horizon! I've been up for a bit...taking care of family stuff. Now everyone is snoozing again and I'm trying to decide if I'll head that way or not. We're tying up loose ends here as we prepare for lift off.

Fun news...we're meeting the family in Santa Fe in August. My Sis is coming from Hawaii so we'll take our bikes! It's a bright spot after losing Rudi since we just couldn't leave him with anyone to go anywhere. Today, I'll eat healthy and get on my bike and head for the pool. It doesn't get much better than that.

I have mine! One of the few perks of having a semi-retired DH. He has the coffee made most mornings by the time I get downstairs.

I'm looking at a short day today, as Cindy and family are taking off for the weekend right after lunch today. I was right that I'd have a long day yesterday, but we came back to my house so the girls could swim, and Cindy picked the girls up on her way home, so it wasn't too bad.

I wondered about that beeping noise. Now I know.

Yesterday sure didn't turn out as planned as I ended up puppy-sitting Lulu, a six week old Yorki-Poo. She was absolutely wonderful but I had forgotten how much time puppies take up. Luckily I called Revenue Canada about the Tax deadline and discovered the return didn't need to be mailed June 30. There's no late filing penalty either so I relaxed a bit with the wee 8 oz. bit of fluff.

Busy day ahead so I won't linger. I'm picking up the school artwork this morning and will get started at sorting it later this afternoon. Anybody want to come and help? I roped Cottage into it two years ago and wish she could join me today.

Tomorrow is Canada Day so it'll be a lovely long weekend on both sides of the border. Let's enjoy it.

Ruth, that was fun sorting through those art entries! I sure wish I could be there to help you out. Can you put if off until August? I'm sorry to hear about Donna's DH, please give her a hug for me.

Debbie - Santa Fe sounds like fun. I miss having a dog but that was why we decided not to get another dog after Fox moved on. I loved having her with us but we also like just getting in the car and going.
I'm going to have my bike out as much as possible this weekend. Wish I had someone nearby who liked riding. Company is nice sometimes

Cottage - Now I'm thinking about swimming See you this afternoon.

Ruth - Sorting art work and drinking wine sounds like a lovely afternoon. I assumed the wine came with the sorting

Today is the start of my weekend. I'm working Monday so today is my day in exchange. The lawnmower is fixed so I'm off to pick that up and mow the hayfield again. Then strawberry picking and freezing, chores and bike riding!

Still waiting to hear back from the specialist about DW's blood work. She is very anxious to get on meds at this point with symptoms accelerating. I'm frustrated that no one is sitting down with us and talking about the diagnosis and the treatment issues. I'm so glad we have DD the PA to help us figure this stuff out.

Well, time to get moving. I've been putting off blood work because mornings are busy but need to get that taken care of this morning. I'm hungry this morning so incentive to get moving and get it done!

Shopping (for food) and packing day for me; we head to my Mom's lake house tomorrow. This is a "command performance" since she is selling the house and it might be the last time we can gather down there with my brother's family. It is always a huge challenge for me to stay OP since everyone else brings all sorts of crappy food and I don't have my elliptical or the internet to distract me. And it is going to be really, really hot so I may be inside all day reading and trying to ignore family drama. Oh well.

Busy at work already. I let DD2 have her Wii early for her birthday and she has been having fun playing on it, I need to get her a couple more games to go with it. I didn't want to get out of bed today I will be ready for this long weekend so I can sleep in til 7 a.m.

Well I did take that coffee back to bed. Now it's time to get rolling. I'm tired and it's overcast. I think I'll make a smoothie and ride to the pool w/DH. My bike can sit for a day.

Quick check in here, as I'm at work early preparing a report for my boss. Got up this am and rebounded, which makes me proud of myself. Still trying to figure out my morning schedule with camp, etc. But I'm working on it!

Cyndi: don't stop asking until you get answers. Be a pain in the a** if you need to. Tell the dr. EXACTLY what you need explained to you and don't let up until you feel satisfied. Do you know the neuro who diagnosed my mom with Parkinson's told my parents absolutely nothing about the disease, or any kind of treatment plan other than meds, when he made the diagnosis? Just sent her out of the office with a prescription for Mirapex and said see you in a year. It's insane these days and you really have to be persistent and educated. Don't worry about being a pain, I always tell myself "I cannot be the worst patient/parent etc. they have ever dealt with."

Morning all! I mean AFTERNOON, heck EVENING!
I am back - with a modified Ph1 and my doctor's blessing. I've got a week off from work and I plan to spend it at the gym, cooking and starting/finishing my thesis. Time to refocus on ME!
