My advice for sticking it out for two weeks: Just remember, the hardest part ONLY lasts two weeks. After that, adding the fruit and whole grains back in is a cinch.
Putting the math down helps me put it into perspective. I'm 25 years old - I've already lived 1300 weeks in my life. Two weeks is 0.15% of the life I have lived so far. In two weeks on P1, I dropped 9 pounds. I lost 5.9% of my body weight in exchange for .15% of my life to date. That's a trade I'd take any day. In my first 2 weeks of phase 2, I'm projecting an additional 4 pound loss - a 2.8% loss for .15% of my life so far. If I weighed 600 pounds and only lost 1 pound in Phase 1, I'd still have dropped .16% of my body weight in .15% of my life... that's what sometimes give me the courage to realize I can definitely do this. The cravings will go away, but I recommend finding what helps you. Lime and strawberry sugar free jello saved me, because I hate all things ricotta. Good luck! |
