Hello all,

Ruth- hope the selection process is going well.

Kara- saw the pictures on facebook the girls look so pretty and excited.

Heidi- my cholesterol was a little bit over 200 but my good cholesterol was through the roof so they told me that I shouldn't worry at all. They look at a different number now, can't remember all of it I will look at my paperwork on Monday it's at work and let you know what it said.

Last night was fun with DD2, today had to take DD1 to Ortho appointment and then DH, DD2 are going to the movies later on.

Teaching Children's church tomorrow so I need to get ready for that as well.

Have a good weekend

Just read yesterday's posts- to annie sorry for your loss

Good evening, chicks!!! I'll try to come back for personals later, but right now I'm getting ready to go out to dinner w/ some friends. Finished my 5K this morning 4 minutes and 38 seconds faster than my last, so I'm pleased. :) Hope all is well w/ all you chicks. I'm headed to the beach for the day tomorrow just to get away from town. Can't wait to hear those ocean waves. Have a good night, chicks!!!

BellaLucia 02-13-2011 03:37 AM

Just checking in! I'll be in California tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous but I can do this.

Heidi58 02-13-2011 07:14 AM

Happy Sunday!

Okie, I imagine this will be a busy day for you with packing and planning and saying your goodbyes. Very exciting though! It will be a Valentines Day that you'll never forget! :)

Thank you Pearlrose. You're right, the risks associated with high cholesterol seem to be more about the ratio than the total. Until yesterday I didn't realize that. Several Beachers sent me PMs yesterday and I'm feeling much more confident this morning. My HDL is high and thanks to several great PM's now I've got a plan now to bring it up even higher. And now that I know age (lack of estrogen) has a lot to do with higher numbers I'm not feeling so shocked and guilty about mine going up. LOL Thank you so much everyone who helped me out.

Natasha - congratulations on finishing your 5k even faster this time!

Snoozle, I bet having the house to yourself will make it easier to get back on track and eat on plan. And easier to check in here every day.... ;) I kind of like having the house to myself every now and then, too.

Tanner's mom - did you get to play your new piano yesterday? I hope so.

And guess what? My face looks.... NORMAL this morning! :carrot: It took longer than predicted for the swelling to clear and I was beginning to worry.

I spent the better part of yesterday cleaning and decluttering our treadmill/craft aka junk room. I'm proud to say that 'junk room' no longer describes it. I'm sad to say that now I've got to take care of the rest of my Saturday chores after church today because I didn't get them done yesterday. But it sure felt nicer on the treadmill this morning.

Enjoy your Sunday friends!

Ruthxxx 02-13-2011 07:34 AM

Good morning all and Bon Voyage to our Okie. I bet today is a very exciting day for you and tomorrow even more so.

Well, we now have a new Bishop of Ontario. It was a very long day as there were three ballots which meant a lot of waiting. I talked to tons of people and think I have some new recruits for the Therapeutic Paws program. (It helps to be known as "that lady from the little Church with the dogs".) The drive down was terrible but coming back was OK except for some drifting. There was a glorious sunset though! My dogs nearly wagged themselves out of their skins when I picked them up to come home.

Church this morning, then I need to make a dessert for dinner with "The Girls" and dig out my woodpile so I can bring in more firewood. I'm hoping today is a somewhat milder day - it sure was bitter in Kingston yesterday with the wind swooping in across Lake Ontario.

Happy Sunday, whatever you do, but start out with a bit of coffee and chat.

Schmoodle 02-13-2011 07:40 AM

Up way too early on a Sunday, but between kitties and my bladder, I had to give in. I had a very productive day yesterday and even got my cookbook organized, which I've been wanting to get to for some time. Today I have to give DS a haircut (his head is a bush), and I think I'll pay a visit to my grandmother, maybe go to the movies. It's a lovely feeling not knowing what the day will bring. And knowing I'm ready to take on the week - house is clean, laundry done, groceries bought, and meals planned! With weather and sickness, my walk buddy and I fell off our routine in January. I'm going to harass her about getting back to it. The weather today should be nice and warm, so we've got no excuses left.

Kara, I saw your pix on fb. The girls looked beautiful. I know they had a really special time with Dad.
Cyndi, enjoy the family reunion. What is the occasion?
cottage, a choir of cherubs sounds adorable. Enjoy!
Heidi, I've known skinny fit people with high cholesterol. I think some people's bodies just manufacture more of it for some reason.
Karen, much as I want spring, I am hoping the melt will be slow so I don't end up with a swimming pool in the basement!
Annie, I am so sorry for your loss.
Debbie, I hope your puppy party and family time were lots of fun and little mess!
snoozlebug, nice to meet you and congrats on the 5 lbs.! Enjoy your week - I completely understand. DH travels for work and I always kind of enjoy it at first...
natasha, jealous - the beach is my favorite place in the world.
Good morning, Pearlie!
Hi Sophie!
Okie, good luck with the move! I can't wait to hear how CA suits you. I guess I'll just have to come out there for our 5k.
TM - good luck to your son today. I hope he gets the part he wants!
Have a great day, Matilda!

The kids are stirring and I think I'll surprise them with blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Have a great day, everyone!

CyndiM 02-13-2011 07:46 AM

Quick hello from the B&B without coffee in the room. We are all meeting for breakfast in an hour so I need to get moving. I've managed to not go completely crazy with food (by passing some of my food over to DW, probably not a good thing to do). One more meal then I'm back to my normal routine. It was nice last night though. My Dad was obviously really happy to have everyone there. He stayed up until almost 9 (he usually crashes around 7) and was very chatty.

After breakfast it's the usual routine - drive through NY, stop at the thrift store & coffee shop and hang out with old friend, go home and pet the cats until bedtime.

Safe and fun travels Okie. Hope the first day of this next phase of life is exciting in all the best ways.

Mmckellen 02-13-2011 07:57 AM

Hi everyone! First, Okie - good luck. Do you have friends and family in CA?

Our taxes went amazing yesterday. I sort of knew we were already going to get a refund because I did some practice returns, but I was unable to figure in my husband's business (he has a side music business) but once the accounting plugged those numbers in our refund went up - fairly significantly, even taking into account his fee. So we are pretty pleased about this.

Today - not much: sunday school and church, then picking up my son's friend for a playdate, then an early dinner at a chinese restaurant with friends. Did not remain on plan last night (ate bagel chips again!) but it was not terrible. Seems like it's easy for me to be on plan during the week, harder on the weekends.

Hope everyone has a great day! It's getting into the 50s later this week. Maybe the groundhog wasn't lying after all?

WaistingTime 02-13-2011 08:46 AM

Good morning! My son's indoor soccer team played at 11 last night and now are all asleep in our basement! I guess I need to think about feeding them eventually. Today he has a basketball game and I need to get to the grocery store again.

Heidi - I was going to mention the ratio thing too. I'll also share that my doctor (and Dr. Oz) says the LDL should really be below 100 if there is any family history. That's the number that was a bit high for me last time.

Okie - Can't wait to hear wonderful things from you in your new home:)

Have a wonderful day everyone!

tanner'smom 02-13-2011 09:07 AM

Good morning,

Yesterday was wonderful. It was just an all around nice day. I did get to play my piano, which I loved. I can't wait till it gets tuned on Thursday.

I had a lot planned for today, but DS is fighting a cold. Everywhere we were supposed to go involves people that if they got sick I would feel horrible. We were supposed to go to church and my mom was having a family dinner. I have an aunt who is 94 and a cousin who is 6 months. I would just feel awful if they got sick. My mom is cute, the theme of the meal is red and pink. So everyone's food was supposed to be pink and red. I was in charge of appetizers. I made salsa and red pepper hummus. My mom will just have to pick them up on her way home. Good news I won't be tempted to go off plan.

Have a great Sunday!!

Lexxiss 02-13-2011 09:19 AM

Good Morning:sunny:

I'm tired today. Yesterday was exhausting. Kirk tweaked his neck fixing the pipes and is going to stay in bed. I have a cheesecake in the oven for the auction after church service and I think I've decided to just go in for the auction. Sometimes the body signals that it's time to slow down.

Sending supportive thoughts to Okie. Today will probably be a challenging day and I hope all your plans fall in place.

Take care everyone! I still need to get Rudi out. It's not as cold as it has been which is good.

Pearlrose 02-13-2011 09:56 AM

Good morning,

Need to go get ready for church, teaching children's church today, DD2 is always happy when it's my turn :)

Okie- can't wait to hear about your adventures in CA, I hope everything turns out the way you are wanting.

Took DD2 to see Gnomeo and Juliet last evening, it was cute. The Scale went up a bit this morning but I expected it since I had such a big swoosh last weekend. It should go back down and settle down. I am still lower on the scale then I have been able to reach in the last year so I am happy about that.

Have a great Sunday everyone, its supposed to get to 53 degrees today, the snow is almost all gone.

weezle 02-13-2011 10:54 AM

Morning everyone!!! Had a planned cheat last night :yikes: but no shakes, and no weight-gain, so back on track today. Going to have breakfast here in a little bit. Chris just laid down and Voodoo jumped up. He turned on TV and Scooby Doo was on and Voodoo is mesmerized. I like Scooby Doo too. :D

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi! Been a busy weekend, but I have 2 more days off! Yesssss. Going to take Voo to PetSmart for a bone and a toy, then to the dog wash since it's going to warm up today. Looking forward to 50's later in the week!!!

Anyhoozle, heading to the kitchen. Hope everyone has a great day!

Lisa

Late check-in for me! It's been a busy, but fun-filled day. The kids were up surprisingly early after a late night (for them!), and I made them special Valentine pancakes before we headed off to New Jersey. Carley's performance with the Cherub Choir at church was just adorable, and afterwards, Monica and Eric insisted on treating us to a wonderful brunch at a new British Tea Room that just opened. We had planned on getting home much sooner, but traffic on the expressway was bumper to bumper all the way home.
I'm ready to relax and take it easy for the rest of the day, but Dustin just pulled in the driveway. He and Jake are going to tinker with Jake's car, and Tyler came along to "help". :) I guess I'd better pull on my coat and go out and keep an eye on him in case he gets in their way.

Okie, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and am excited for you! Have a safe trip and let us know how you are once you get settled!
