Hi all! I have a backache and am not sure I will bike today; I skipped yesterday already:( I think it is because of the running intervals that I did three afternoons this week, on top of my long morning rides. Whatever, I am not going to jog anymore and cross my fingers this goes away soon.

Thanks for the link Debbie!
Uh, you didn't sample the ones in your 'project', right?

I'd never put green tomatoes in my mincemeat until we started having a big garden and ended up with so many green tomatoes every fall. My original recipe is from an old church cook book, but the one I use now is simpler and tastes just as good. Mincemeat I don't use the crumb topping, we like the traditional double crust. Sadly, it's not a SBD friendly recipe, that's for sure. But I have no guilt about going off plan on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Karen I'm so sorry to read about your sore back. :(
I will cross my fingers for you, but I'll also be praying that it's nothing serious and that you heal quickly.

Hello friends  I'm peeking put from under the tomato pile. This weekend a local organic farm had free PYO tomatoes. I think I ended up with 3-4 bushels and just had to make myself stop picking. My second batch is cooking away on the stove in two big pans. I've got to go out tonight so I'm going to leave them in the crockpot with the lid tilted and hope that works. It wasn't my plan for the weekend but was impossible to resist :)

 Natasha. I am oh so familiar with sports team disappointment.

Debbie - Wow, that's quite a project to tackle. The antique canning jars sound wonderful. Have you decided what to do with them?
Looking forward to seeing your cookbook project.

Cottage - Congrats to you SIL and :crossed: hope dress shopping is a success.

Heidi - I'm not even going to think about all the green tomatoes sitting in that field! That green tomato soup recipe sounds interesting. Let us know how it is.

Karen - I can't run either. My back hates it. Hope you are feeling better already.

This weekend is flying by. Yesterday was all about errands, apples and tomatoes. This morning we went to breakfast and then to Trader Joes. Not to self - 10 am on Sunday is the perfect time to go there, no crowds. Just enough time home to make more sauce, do a little laundry and a few chores than back out for a few hours (work related).

Didn't get my hair done or go to the bank like I'd planned. Maybe tommorrow.

You people are making me hungry!!! LOL

I'm wrapping up my weekend at work. Gonna try to get all my bigger "big girl clothes" out of the closet and set up a yard sale sometime this weekend. Tuesday my aunt is going to tailor several of my tops for me so I can get some more use out of them, so that'll be good. The fair actually starts this week, too, so I'll be working there on Saturday and Sunday from 1800 - 2400 hrs. Our command post is set up right by a souvlaki stand, so I should be good to go. Thank God it's not set up by the funnel cake stands!!! LOL
