Lindsay that is so sad. Amazing how much natural disasters can actually demolish...

My Mom tried to get me to open a bank account in my sister's name, WTH? I said no naturally so I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Thanks for keeping me in your prayers!

Hello Ladies,
I'm checking in a bit late. I've been on the eliptical this morning and did a few more exercises. I went to the mall and strolled with my DD. I totaly blew this weekend. I was all ready to be good at the birthday party. I had a hard day with the kids and I just gave in and ate my emotions. The scale has not shown the damage yet. I can't go back. All I can do is dust myself off and move forward. Today has been on track. Even before the mess up the scale had not been moving like I wanted. I am going to keep an eye on my portions, try to get more veggies, step up my efforts on the eliptical (harder resistance) and get my water in. I was down about the lack of results, but I realized some things. I have avoided the drive-thrus. Cokes have been eliminated. I have increased my water and vegetables (I ate very few before). Plus, I am exercising every day. ALL are positive changes! Well, I'm going to squeeze in some housework before it is time to pick up my DS. |
djet, don't fret! Get back on that horse! U can do this, one day does not a diet ruin, oops lifestyle change!
|
Another drive by! Heading out to errands. I hadn't heard about the fires around Denver, Lindsay. Must call my sister who lives there! Yikes!
Hoping to get into a better routine soon so I don't miss so much! ~~Sally |
Rikki: I started the backsplash in my kitchen a couple of months ago but did not think it through well enough so I have a large gap which is hidden by our coffee pot. In fact, I still have the grout the damn thing. Better luck to you.
Debbie: I am in West Denver, Lakewood specifically. The smoke around here is just awful, and smelly! |
LOL... lindsay- I have places under my appliances that need to be grouted still... we did the entire downstairs of the house- and everything has been done for over a year now(except the grouting under the appliances!~ Oy. at least you can't see them! I decided to go buy all the stuff out and then after I cook tonight I will map it all out and then tomorrow I will start it. Not looking forward to all the glass shards I am already beginning to feel in my fingers already- I tried to cut a couple pieces of the glass and ouchie!
|
I have some left over glass tiles that I need to have cut so that they will fit into the spaces left over before I grout. I tried to do it myself but I kept getting crooked edges and broken tiles. I have considered calling the place where I bought my tiles to see if they can cut some smooth edges for me.
|
I have read that for the glass tiles you cut you should soften the edges with a belt sander, I wonder if you could get them close with the cutter then soften with that? Thats something I am worried about too- the edges... may use a tool on the dremel, idk?!
I just love home improvement projects though! |
Hello everybody!!! :) Wow...only 1900 hrs and I'm posting here. I think that's a record, LOL!!! :)
Not a whole lot going on around here today. I made a SB version of Wendy's Chili today in the crockpot and it turned out REALLY good. I took the cumin down a teaspoon and the chili powder up a teaspoon, though. I don't know what it is about cumin but I cannot STAND the smell of it and I'm getting to where I don't like the taste either. Unfortunately I've got a HUGE container of it still, LOL. Oh well. Went to bed w/ a warm compress on my sinuses and woke up feeling MUCH better. I swear, Beer is the only thing that affects my sinuses THAT quickly. Lindsay - Wow, that is horrible. I have always been scared of fire (even scarier, yet, is that my younger brother has become a firefighter in the past year and my nephew WANTS to be a firefighter...EEK!!!). One of my bestfriends from high school moved to Florida shortly after graduation. She got tired of all the natural disasters that were attacking her down there, so she moved back here into her old house. She was barely here 2 months when some faulty electrical wiring caused a fire that burned her house to the ground. It was horrible. I will be praying for the people in your area...God knows they surely need it. :( rdw1 - LOL...I hope you got your backsplash tackled okay w/o it being too much of a mess. If it makes you feel any better, the bathroom in our master bedroom has yet to be finished after 2 years. Our hall bathroom, however, is fabulous...and it was started WAY after the master. LOL I was gonna ask my brother about the tile for you, but I don't think he works in glass tile. He does just about everything else, though. ;) |
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...I have plateaued!!! Okay, I may be being a touch melodramatic...but the scale hasn't budged in almost 2 weeks now. I'm trying not to get discouraged and trying to remember that it won't be permanent, but of course my silly mind is saying "look, your shoulders look fatter today...and your neck, too!!!" Ehhhh...this will pass.

Goodnight, ladies.
