Thanks, Lamay. I am feeling better. I ate dinner at 4:30! I was so hungry. I think tomorrow will be better as I know what to expect.

Well, Day 1 was hard yesterday.

I also realized this morning that I've been drinking skim milk like it's going out of style and that is on the no list. Not sure how I missed that one.

I did get up and do my Wii Fit this morning before work.

I had a nice big omlette for breakfast and have a delicious looking salad with tuna and tons of veggies in the fridge. Bring it on Day 2!

Randi, you may want to take a look at the revised food lists listed in the FAQ section of this forum. Skim milk is ok and encouraged now :) you can have two cups per day of dairy - which includes yogurt and milk.

Awesome, Zeffryn! I found the revised foods list and it is a little different than my book. Thank you!

Close to ending day 3 & doing well so far.

Been trying some of the recipes from the board (so glad to have this resource!) & had a big hit last night with the Pizza Burgers. Biggest challenge so far has been packing lunches for my hubs. We've done lettuce wraps, a big chef salad & spicy black bean salad with grilled chicken (served cold). After this I'm out of ideas. I've looked around online but most things are either off his radar (foods he'll eat) or too messy/too difficult to eat at work.
I'm also struggling with snacks for him. Poor guy has been eating string cheese, almonds & snap peas or edamame every day. :)

Other than those small bumps, I'd say we're doing well. Hoping to see a loss on the scale next week.

Wishing you all well!

Down 3 lbs in three days!

I am feeling better. Talked to doctor to get off the Metformin. I am just hopeful this will break my two year plateau!

new to South Beach

This is my first day on South Beach diet.:D I feel like I am doing something wrong. Can I have cheese and milk? I have found conflicting reports. I use to go to Weight Watchers. Didn't lose any weight. Was not hungry today at all. Any tips??

I'm on day four of phase 1 and am feeling pretty good. I can't believe I'm down 3 lbs and my stomach feels less bloated. My jeans were so much looser in the waist. So, I'd say I'm off to a good start. I had a kind of panicky craving last night but I stuck to the plan and didn't give in to carbs. I had some ricotta cheese mixed with vanilla, cocoa and cinnamon. It was pretty yummy and satisfied my craving. I stayed up late and got another craving so had a stick of celery with PB on it. That did me fine for the night.

Yesterday morning I made some egg cups that I can have for breakfast or a snack for the next 2-3 days. I baked 2 eggs, 3/4 c egg whites, thawed spinach with a bunch of water squeezed out, sauted red pepper and onion, garlic and cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or til tops feel a bit solid. I keep them in tuperware in the fridge and then warm in microwave. I really like them.

Yesterday I bought a SB cookbook so will be looking thru that today to find a few recipes to get me thru the wk.

I am just popping in to introduce myself! I started SBD today with the intention of losing about 18 pounds. I have already lost 22 pounds. I am currently 150.5 pounds and my goal is 132 pounds. Pounds, pounds, pounds!

Today I have had:
B: Ricotta and Psyllium Husk Pancakes with SF Syrup
S: 1 Boiled Egg
L: Salad with Ricotta Cheese
S: 10 Almonds
D: 1 Boiled Egg, Ricotta Cheese, Salad
D: Skinny Cow Mint Ice Cream
W: 1.5L water

Exercise: I did a 45 minute heavy power-session at my gym. It burns about 500 calories.

Day five now. Down 5 lbs which feels great. I have to say I am getting a bit sick of the eggs now. Breakfast needs to be fast and easy so need some other ideas. Maybe celery and peanut butter or laughing cow cheese and a small cup of yogurt.

I looked thru breakfast ideas but nothing really appealed to me. I'll be glad when my sugar cravings decrease and I can try adding back in one of my regular foods. I'm not having any problem with lunch or dinner...just at breakfast I'm really missing my favorites (toast/pb, oatmeal with milk, splenda brown sugar and raisins or Fiberone cereal mixed with a bit of multigrain cheerios).

I may be wrong, but I don't think these are SB compatible.

Can you post the recipe for your Ricotta and Psyllium Husk Pancakes?

Pearlrose 11-08-2010 03:36 PM

Hello all, I will try and post here since I am doing Phase 1 again, on Day 3 and doing well all of the cravings are gone no headaches yesterday or today since I have been making sure to eat my dairy and beans.

bcgal- I made cheesecake breakfast yesterday so I can take to work all week for breakfast- it was yummy this morning.

I'm in Australia and I compared the stats to the Ricotta Creme and it was about the same carbs-wise lower in calories, so I substituted. I don't see the logic in it being disallowed when low-fat, non-sugar-added yoghurt is allowed and a few semisweet chocolate chips are allowed. I do a huge amount of exercise so I'm allowing myself that one indulgence for now.
